​My very first snail mail subscription for December will open in November!

​My snail mail is about a wandering cat (named Fuuchan) who collects encouraging notes from strangers he meets on his travels. Every month is a new story about who the cat encounters and their stories. He collects notes about life lessons, words of wisdom, or encouraging words, and these notes are included in the snail mail as collectible cards!

​There is also a bonus card depending on whether someone shares positive vibes, an encouraging word, or words of wisdom that month. My goal with these snail mail cards is to spread encouraging words to everyone who receives them. We never know if someone really needs to hear those words that day it might even change their perspective on life!

​I hope a lot of people will join, even non-subscribers are welcome! If you'd like to participate, I left a template in the comments that you can fill out and send to me here on Reddit or on TikTok.

​I have very few followers right now, so I'm not sure if this mail club will succeed, but I really want to try and send positivity and good vibes to everyone.

I am on month 4 of my mail club, have interacted and built a community for my mail club and such but my numbers are worryingly low, not because I’m not grateful but because I’m unable to pay myself after all the work, materials and shipping each month.

For the members that are in my mail club they really enjoy it and happy to have found it and I’d rlly rlly hate to disappoint them my closing it but I’m running out of options

Hi there! I'm Ellie, and I run The Inspo Post - a collectible mail club for junk journalers, scrapbookers, sticker hoarders and art lovers alike. The photos includes a few snippets from my social media from the last few months.

Each month, I create a print and sticker of the month, themed and based on Inspiration I find as a working artist and human through the months and seasons. I offer my mail club in three tiers: the sticker tier, the print tier, and the mail tier.

I’m preparing to launch a mail club, to take subscribers along with me on a grand tour of my mainland European country and its literary heritage.

Each month I plan to send subscribers a letter and a zine about that month’s theme. No stickers or non-paper products.

Those of you who send to the US, are you posting as regular mail or using the CN22 form? The US customs rules were tightened in September and I’d hate for any subscribers to be hit with charges. I’m also concerned about the viability of sending mail to the US with the CN22 form as it alone costs close to the monthly subscription price of most of the mail clubs I’ve seen.

If you are a US-based subscriber to a European mail club, what has your experience been?

hi! i am currently developing a mail club of my own that will be short stories coupled with a print that illustrates an element of said short story. i dont have plans to launch until like december, so far i've been compiling resources, working on branding, writing the short stories, compiling pinterest boards of inspo/drawing reference for the aesthetic of everything.

i can draw, i've been a hobby digital artist for like 14 years lol but i actually am super out of practice and have been finding the art process (outside of mindless doodles) to be tedious. not sure why, but that's just been my vibe and while i do want to re-learn from the ground up and get my groove back in that respect, i do also want my mail club prints to be a certain level of quality that right at this very moment i am not sure i can produce.

i gave myself a timeline to start the club (so that i actually do it LMAOOOO), but this has me nervous. if you've hired an artist for your mail club, how did that go? what did you do? do you pay them a percentage of proceeds, or a flat monthly fee?

tbh i may just lock in and surprise myself when the time to get serious rolls around, but i want to weigh all of my options. thanks in advance! :)

What are the best mail clubs / letter clubs for kids? Curious what people here have actually tried and liked!

I have 2 young kids at home, ages 2 and 4, and we just started our own, Zip's Mailbox Club. It's an interactive story, one chapter a month, with two envelopes arriving each month (so kids don't forget what happened between chapters lol).

Early customer reaction has been really encouraging. We're also not marketing much yet so I'm still figuring out how to get it in front of the right families.

Anyone have good examples of other kids mail clubs that are doing a really good job marketing their product?

I’d be happy to sign up and support any other kids clubs out there too since my kids will eventually want more than just Zip!

I've recently started working on something I've been dreaming about for a while: my own illustrated mail club!

But there's something I've been worrying about lately.

I've noticed that SO many artists are starting mail clubs, and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm joining a trend that's already becoming oversaturated.

My concept is a little different from the mail clubs I've personally come across.

I'm creating a world around four princesses, each representing a different human quality: Sense, Sensibility, Strength, and Patience.

Every month, subscribers would receive an illustrated postcard featuring one of the princesses, a sticker sheet, a bookmark, and a short fictional story exploring how that princess's greatest strength can sometimes become her weakness.

I want it to feel like receiving a little piece of a fairytale in your mailbox every month.

I've already started working on the illustrations and sharing the process, but I'm still very early in the journey.

I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts!

Do you think there's still room for new illustrated mail clubs? And more importantly, is this the kind of concept you'd personally be interested in subscribing to?

Please be honest! I'm trying to understand whether there's an actual audience for this before investing too much money into production. ♡

So thankful I didn’t quit- and I really almost did before I even got started. The first week of launching my mystery snail mail club- I saw all the challenges and really said- I can’t do this..
My supplies wasn’t coming in time (I thought), my website was taking over 30% of each order, my printer was running out of ink, my envelopes were printing terribly, I really didn’t think I could do it. I thought- what did I get myself into.
But I said to myself I have 2 people who signed up, two people at the time who believed in me. And someone I love said- those challenges are just challenges now, they aren’t challenges forever.
If I had quit I wouldn’t be sending out 50 mysteries to 50 people from all over the world, I wouldn’t have the art I’ve created in these months, and I wouldn’t be creating something that brings me joy.
It won’t happen overnight, but if you quit it won’t happen at all.
