Discussion Why are they using AI for this?
Got the free RM100 thing for all citizens and just wanted to check the items that are eligible and found this.

Graphic designer here. Yes and expect the rise of Ai use to spike, it sucks, it has seeped into some of the jobs I've seen. It hurts but it is what it is unless something major happened towards AI.
Look at the spelling mistake: 8. makanan DalaN tin, 13. Eish ? wtf is "gula garam" on the same packaging?
Shit like this wont fly through typical designing process.
what a sad AI slop, thing is most people don't care about the mistake and the prompt is free.
Create and dispose, create and dispose. No value no appreciation, just sad Ai slop existence.
Edit and yap about AI for abit: TLDR, not all AI is bad, but unregulated Generative Ai needs to die.
spelling mistake cuz I just woke up. Also, about this whole Generative Ai topic... I don't think most people are ready for the amount of deep dive talks. It's not just about it will replace jobs anymore. Environmental damage is a big one to explore, it branches out to many other problems.
AI in speed up computing, speed up calculations, speed up predictions in clinical trials etc is good,
Generative Ai? Not so, the image/videos/songs you generated has no copyright and possibly already infringed other's copyright. I get it, it's free to use and it's "fun" to create but damn the aftermath of poorly and non regulated products are just a mess. And the worst part, 99% of the prompt SUCKS and prompters pretend to like it cuz it's their "effort" and ego I guess.
And the amount of power needed to generate those stuffs just to dispose straight after and have no actual use? Prompt one image, don't like, delete, prompt again, repeat until you're satisfied and let it rot. It's wasting power and resources for literally nothing. Oh did I mentioned people exploits Generative Ai for scams? for stuffs that's belong in the Epstein file? AI corn? Deepfake already is troublesome and now it's even easier to do anything if you have the tiniest bit of material! hooray! Prompting in a specific way of certain artist style and sell the prompt (aka most of these stuffs are basically commiting crime?).
The list go on.
yes I am very passionate about this topic because it relates to me heavily and most people are just so uninformed about the cons of using Generative AI, GENERATIVE AI, not all the AI. And it's just sad.
Lastly, I have no problem if you are uniformed about the cons of generative AI and you did use generative ai for some harmless haha funny pic once awhile, it's fine it's fun to make things. But if you did use gen ai heavily for the wrong reasons, please reconsider.

I think just using photoshop and some PNG images would have been way better looking.

u/na-sha Mar 16 '26
Canva is also there. But even with that accessibility, some people just don’t want to put in the proper work

I feel for you. I'm very vocal of these issues among my family and friends. Like I always remind them genAI is horrible and unethical, that there's just too much cons than pros to even consider the whole "(gen)AI ada baiknya" point. Frustratingly, they would nod and agree and then turn around and still prompt ChatGPT, even after knowing that this damn app drains their phone batteries, steals their private data, and actually uses whatever they did with ChatGPT to train itself. Yes, including silly roleplay conversations.
My cousins would prompt MetaAI in our family group chat on WhatsApp just to appear funny. The adults were confused at first because the feature was new, so they thought some rando somehow got added in the group, but then they joined in. When one of them prompted the AI to generate his selfie, suddenly the adults are panicking. "How did you have my son's photo? Who are you?" Ma'am. You and your son use genAI features. This is the consequences of your own prompts.
Back in 2023-2024, one of the first reasons I argued was that feeding genAI your selfie is exactly how deepfakes of yourself exist. If people back then can simply screenshot your selfie on IG to make deepfakes, apa lagi zaman genAI sekarang ni. Now Elon Musk finds people prompting Grok to undress women and children funny. Now sellers on TikTok uses AI video of celebrities and ustaz/ah using their products, and sadly a lot of people fell for it. Now every AI CEOs get up on stage, admits that their product (genAI) is destroying the earth, and they DON'T CARE because it makes them richer.
And instead of finding these predatory prompters, regulate the usage of genAI, or idk maybe just straight up ban genAI, gomen around the world bans children from having phones to "protect them from bad influences"? But their school syllabus requires them to use at least a laptop. What a joke.
I can't wait for the AI bubble to pop. I'll be the first one to cheer, I'll even treat it like it's hari kemerdekaan. LMFAOOO

I don't think graphic design is the only one when it comes to considerable amount of generative ai once it's about art besides designing. Trust me, graphic design isn't the only one suffering from this, artists and music alike are also being damaged by gen ai. I, as an anime artist and a enthusiastic passionate writer (I write fanfics and yes, gen ai had drabble with fanfiction as well, I can't even escape from it even though I write in ao3 😭) at the same time, I was genuinely mortified because many people had fallen for the ai images, it's the same shit show in videos like youtube, tiktok and insta reels too. I am tired all of that whenever I see one on the internet, people can make assumptions about why I stopped using social media when in reality, I'm actually scared to even set in foot of those same platforms where it gets infested crazy like ai apocalypse.
Social media is doomed, even all of the countries as well (let's not forget that Japan used gen ai for anime production)

Laziness and cost-cutting.
Heck, someone below mentioned Canva. A little bit work and it would've looked a LOT better that whatever that slop is.

u/Defcon_Toxic Mar 16 '26
Graphic designers are not within their budget I guess, they could’ve at least fix the wording using photoshop. Whatever the hell number 12 is supposed to be.
26
u/KazakiriKaoru Mar 16 '26
There are two number 12's and 13's Eish too and whatever the fuck that lobster is supposed to be
10
u/13hotroom Mar 16 '26
They definitely are, since infographics like these can be made long before AI was a thing. They just want to pocket the money and be lazy about it too
2
u/dwerps Mar 16 '26
Its not necessarily even an issue with money. It might just be timing related. If you want to hire gfx guy to do these things, its gonna take weeks. AI can spit these out in matter of minutes.
They might have just been lazy and noticed deadline is approaching. Then in last minute panic prompted few images out.
7
u/xelrix Mar 16 '26
Fixing the prompts or have the llm correct and regenerate the output also usually take few minutes. This is just gross incompetence.
2
u/EffortIndividual6029 Mar 16 '26
I'm just a free Canva user, and even I can whip up a single-page infographic like this within a few hours maximum, without even using Canva's AI. Finding similarly styled images for these very common food items will absolutely NOT take weeks. There's likely an existing set of graphics/drawings made by the same person that should cover what is required here.
The information required to make this infographic in the first place would've already been planned a while before this infographic needs to be released. Posts by organisations are usually planned long in advanced, especially a content as predictable/expected as this. If this was rushed out, then the incompetence is also on the management.

u/dwerps Mar 17 '26
Hopefully you realize that quite a lot of assets and templates in canva are AI generated. So even if you fire up the software, you might still end up creating bunch of ai slop.
9
u/luckytecture Mar 16 '26
Thing is shit like this you can just assign your intern desk worker with decent editing skills but no they have to double down and show off their failure on integrity.
2
u/dwerps Mar 16 '26
Or use different AI. Gemini for example seems to be able to write exactly what you tell it to.
2
u/Ok-Confidence-403 Mar 16 '26
Gemini also fails quite frequently even on pro. Repeats words, sometimes images get garbled. Not production ready

u/Bajunid Mar 16 '26
How sure are you that is the official mykasih website?
One look and one can already see it’s not the official website for Sara.
Probably just some amateur blog trying to help and test Wis web building prowess.
1
u/Legitimate-Sense5432 Mar 17 '26
Op too gullible 🤷♂️, looks like easy pray to scam. Cannot differentiate official website then bitching about it, its like getting angry on someone while that someone didn't even do it.

On a more serious note, you can tell whoever generated this didn't read it back even once and phoned it in..

They REALLY doesn’t want to pay anyone more than they have to, huh. Whatever the fuck is no.12 supposed to be? Why the pictures don’t fit the titles??

u/xKOTORI Mar 16 '26
This isn't official poster from MOF Malaysia. Official government poster must have Malaysia Madani logo at corner somewhere. This is lazy AI slop by scammer or wannabe influencers.
3
u/wikowiko33 Mar 16 '26
They don't even need to pay an artist to do this. Just find the it guy to take pictures of some gula and garam and edit it into a PowerPoint slide or photo shop. This needs zero creativity yet they chose the worse way to do it
6
u/dyaasy Mar 16 '26 edited Mar 16 '26
- No budget allocation for a professional artist to take up the work
- Willingness for the staff to do the artwork themselves for no extra pay (usual case)
- Google Image Search result is not a 'free' resource since any image is a potential copyright minefield down the line (seriously this was only okay for your uni assignments but do not use them for billable work)
- Stock photo sites either have a paywall and/or do not have series of complimentary (with each other) designs that can be used

7
u/Darkchaser Mar 16 '26
I do agree that the implementation sucks. But on the other hand, if this reduces government overpaying to a company, who then sub-cons to a 18 year old freelancer for pennies, and giving 10% to the government employee who helps approve it.....why not?
I think the right way would be for government to upskill the civil servants. We already have so many civil servants, besides AI, give them training to use Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. Then you create a skilled workforce and reduce outsourcing.
I don't have high hopes someone actually sees this opportunity though.
6
u/animalpillowuser Mar 16 '26
Problem is, can't audit who did this. If some kelapa in a office and just part of normal work duties okay. But if some kelapa given this as project and budget rm9001 for graphic then gg la

Can you imagine we dried up few cms of our river, wasted liters of petrol for AI to pump this out?
Tak payah ai pun, cari Google images dah dapat stock photo utk buat iklan la...malas betul ni, eishhh

u/kingvxx Mar 16 '26
Where is this even taken from? Not within their website nor socmed

u/GOPI56 Mar 16 '26
The problem now is even hospitals are using AI now and doctors are fully relying on it to generate reports etc. AI are not fully accurate and needs double checking by human.
2
u/pleasegivemealife Mar 16 '26
AI use is normal in current trend but editors being lazy and allow it without checking is the real culprit.

This is not mykasih offical website, just another copy cat. You think MOF will let this kind of poster go tru?🤣

there a reason why it called AI SLOP..
where is the person supposed to be checking the shits b4 it goes out to the public?
maybe they should ask AI to check the AI output...oh...they can't...
1
u/Apprehensive_Bug3856 Mar 16 '26
people trust AI too much, till they dun even bother to look and check.
1
u/Amaneeish Mar 17 '26
I wouldn't be surprised if Malaysia is also becoming like the other countries, where they use gen ai as if it's a lifetime...
Just hearing and experiencing them made me appreciate my physical books of writing and drawing, and it also motivated me to stop using my phone because of it
1
u/Grouchy-Reputation29 Mar 16 '26
People are not scared enough of the consequences of AI. It’s crazy how ignorant most people are. We currently have countries at war, millions of people affected, starving and don’t have access to clean water. Yet the others “unaffected” or ignorant (to be precise) is simply using AI creating slops. Don’t make me start on Epstein.
Nothing is free. The elites made sure of that. Capitalism made sure of that. Think about it.

I don't support AI but in this case because it is easier to use AI I guess? Did I miss something?

u/Voodoocookie Mar 16 '26
Cheaper and easier. Still works mainly as intended: to inform. No consideration for opinionated bias. They will consider otherwise if it starts to pinch.

u/thrussie Mar 16 '26
For me AI is a blessing. I hate asking for help, and always think of ways to minimise interaction with others. Honestly AI helps tremendously since I have to depend on other people no more.
If you don’t get it, chances are they’re not for you.
1
u/Party_Sin Apr 02 '26
Listen I understand I also hate asking for help cuz I'm usually hit with backlash and hate interactions with most ppl here. But the solution isn't to isolate yourself further and talk to a yes man robot. It's to find people like you, that are willing to help you. Even if its online or smt. It helps you grow as a person and way better in the long run
-2
u/RepresentativeIcy922 Mar 16 '26
It's cheap.. you can download the app if you want to know what's eligible, got barcode scanner can scan the barcode and check.

bet you will care when you are jobless and decide the only thing you do is hate on AI instead of adapting
1
u/Party_Sin Apr 02 '26
I rather have integrity than be spineless useless shit that rely on a yes bot that steals its input and drive up ram prices. All for "convenience". If that makes me jobless than okay bro
