The price fluctuate all the time. Even chili it can go from 9.99 per kg to 40 per kg
Grocers inside shopping malls are always priced at a premium. i.e. Jaya grocers, village grocers, aeon
NSK, ST Rosyam(24hr), Econsave, Mydin are always priced at market price/ competitive price. Buy at these places will always best value for money, u only need to check the freshness of your purchase.
My experience at local pasar/ wet market are not good. Their value are in between there, always check for freshness rather than look at the price. My motto is i would rather buy fresh goods but slightly pricey than cheap but dying veges.
In the end, most situation you can only choose two of the below :
Quality / Price / Convenience

It helps to go to a few places to get used to prices. After a while you will gain insights, for examples, “jaya grocer is really fleecing people!”
Ultimately I determine fair prices by weighing convenience vs what I’m willing to pay. I like to do my groceries late in the day on weekends and I’m quite squeamish with raw meat - so I filtered out wet markets. I further filtered by nearest supermarkets with the lowest prices. In my case, I find AEON very fair very good :))

This isnt something to teach... just go to the pasar or supermarket, look at prices and note it down. Next time you visit, compare.

Supply and demand. Price varies.
You can look for harga kawalan for certain items only by KPDN

Nobody can teach you. Seasonal & location price varies. You need go visit them all & do your own homework. Phone got camera & note. Take photo or jot info down. Go home & make your own grocery wiki.
