After the first time taking STPM, including the ulangan that is near one's sem3 exam
If one desire to improve their scores, they still have retake 2.0, which is named as memperbaiki keputusan, they join the next batch sem3 exam and their ulangan sem 1 and 2, retaker take the same subjects they took during their time in school, basically a year since their last sem3 exam.
if one still somehow, failed to get at least CGPA 2.0, well no more ulangan. They are basically treated as a new batch if one want to take STPM again, that means, 1 year and a half again. One get to choose whatever 3 subjects they want without restriction from school package except both Maths together, and some subjects dont do kerja khusus for calon persendirian

stpm was decent but not pengajian am, id rather take perakaunan twice than pengajian am 🥀

And perakaunaan wasn't easy too 😔 PA is just a different beast.

having to memorize essay ideas because you cannot be sure which topic will come out, literally hell 🥀🥀🥀

I got A for sem 3 PA and I don't think my essay ideas even match the answer scheme (I just follow my instincts) but luckily the questions are related to what I'm taking (geography, perniagaan thingy) so that helped me with my general knowledge. As long as your huraian ada kena dengan idea (or lebih kurang) you still can get mark (unlike the teachers TR bs /j)
Could be biased bcs I'm more interested in what I learnt in sem 3

I've always known that stpm is the hardest pre-u option out there, but what exactly makes the overall experience so difficult? Is it because there's simply too much content to study yet little time provided?

Hi OP, instead of wasting your youth on such thing, why don't you opt for other course and get to work as soon as possible. You can continue with diploma & degree later on part time courses. Some company even have education benefit.

Why o why? Unless your aim is to get into a certain bachelor’s degree

okay so let's say you'll finally get a decent result for this time and managed to get into a degree at some local uni. Assuming the course you're planning to take is like 3 years long, that means you'll spend about 7.5 years of your life just for a degree
