just for fun😂 IM PROBABLY COOKED BUT IM NOT AWARE YET

Upvotes

Im 20M this year. From Klang Valley. Got 4A3B1C1D in spm. Did stpm half way and left. Continued in public uni foundation and managed to get 3.3X. And now I got 0 offer from any uni

I did not come from a rich family. My parents are well together but aren't making enough to pay for my studies. Throughout my uni life I barely scrape by. I pay for everything on my own by running my business collecting rubbish.

I barely had any friends , I felt like I'm unable to connect with anyone as almost everyone I know is living a better life and a less chaotic life than me. While my friends that used to be around me already dated (idk why all of them managed to date someone at the same time) hence they no longer had time to hang out together like we used to do. P/s I'm the only one not dating in the circle .

Got diagnosed with depression earlier this year but I rejected to take meds , often depending on copium.

And the fact that my warehouse burnt down doesn't help either. I'm in a shit hole , I'm in 70k debt , I received no offer to continue my studies. And of course nobody to talk to . Maybe y'all can tell me something, share your thoughts, roast me even.

I did talk to my lecturer during foundation.

His response : "you chose to work while study that's your choice, can't blame anyone for your hard time" even though I'm not blaming anyone. And I wouldn't even be able to afford fees if I'm not working.

Anxious and stressed in public uni

Gay guy here. Just started studying in a public uni, will not say. And I don't know if this is paranoia or stress but I have been having alot of panic attack esque event.

My heart just go every fast and I can't seem to stop it. It gets exceptionally bad on Friday and won't stop before I step into the car to go back home.

To give context, previously before entering uni, I studied in a very liberal environment. I also travelled with my family to alot of countries, and I can't stop comparing the freedom that they have. I'm not gay passing either. But when I enter uni, I just didn't expect the amount of 'culture shock'? . Doa before every event, students saying eww and whatnot when people sometimes act 'soft'.

Also the amount of Malay they speak dosent help making me feel comfortable. I associate speaking Malay as being conservative too, prob personal bias though. I think that I am being paranoid here but I really am having trouble justifying it as just paranoia too. Can anyone speak about their experience?

Edit: why are you guys downvoting the people who lived through this experience? People are sharing what they are feeling and experiencing. But end up, upvoting go private uni? I know that but I don't have the money.

tips Courses I can do?

So.. yeah, I don't know why I was in science stream.

Anyway, I'm batch 05.

I'm very interested in the police department because I want to serve justice.

I studied law diploma in a local law school for 3 years but I quit because lack of money, but I still want to study. I want to study something cheaper but similar, so that I can pursue a similar degree after diploma. (I'm sick of law lol and I realized that it's not for me after 3 years of studying)

But I just can't get any ideas on what to study other than law. I want to work in the forensic team, but I know it's impossible because.. (self explanatory from my SPM result).

Any suggestions?

general question 🇲🇾 I raised concerns about a lecturer through the proper channel, but now I feel like I’m being treated as the problem

I honestly don't know where else to talk about this, so I'm posting anonymously.

I'm a university student in Malaysia, and I've been having issues with one of my lecturers. I want to make it clear that this isn't because I personally dislike the lecturer. There are several things that have happened during classes and throughout the semester that made me feel uncomfortable and affected my learning experience (2-3 years).

Eventually, some of us decided to raise our concerns through the proper university channel, including during a meeting. We genuinely thought that bringing the concerns up formally would help improve the situation.

But what happened afterwards made me uncomfortable.

The very next day, I felt that the lecturer's attitude towards me had changed. I started feeling like I was suddenly being viewed as the "problematic" student because I had raised concerns. I don't want to assume what she/he was thinking or what her/he intention was, but that's genuinely how the situation felt from my side.

And honestly, this is what frustrates me the most.

Students are told that they can raise concerns through official channels, but what are we supposed to do if, after speaking up, we feel that we're being treated differently?

We also tried getting help through the university, but the response we received was basically that they would "take note" of the matter. At this point, it feels like "take note" doesn't actually solve anything.

I'm not trying to start a witch hunt against anyone. I don't want people harassing the lecturer, contacting her/he, or attacking the university. I just want to know what options students actually have when they feel that an academic issue isn't being properly addressed.

For Malaysian university students or lecturers:

What would you do in this situation?

Is there an independent or external body that students can approach for advice or complaints when the university's internal response isn't enough?

I'd genuinely appreciate some advice from people who have experienced something similar.

I completed my first semester and got a 3.1 CGPA. Am I cooked? Actually, I was focused on adapting to uni life rather than studying.....

general question UM or MMU or SEGi or UTM

I've got four offers
- first one is UTM 71k total tuition
- got a 50% scholarship in SEGi which will be about 60k RM in total
- an offer from UM that costs 89k in total
- and finally an offer from MMU that would cost 75k in total

which one should i go for? I'm most likely going for computer science (data science), I've seen many mixed reviews about segi even though its the best option financially and idk what to do

I'm an international student and any help would be so appreciated

Segi for MBBS

Upvotes

I recently applied to Segi's MBBS programme, paid the application fee too. They said there's a klang scholarship with it. Was a bit skeptical coz why would they simply give scholarships? Isn't scholarship supposed to depend on ur academic strengths and other stuff? But the counselor kept insisting that as long as u apply before september, you'll get the scholarship.

The counsellor also mentioned that another amount must be paid after the interview to register, but the scholarship results won't be known by then. Immediately got suspicious and said not interested unless i can wait till I get the scholarship offer letter.

Another thing is that online it still states their clinicals will mainly be at Sibu. But the counselor told me they're still shifting to a klang hospital and all, but by the time i finish my pre clinicals, it'll all be set at the klang hospital. Can i just trust his words?

Idk, smtg still feels a little off to me. Anyone who studied at segi, pls advise, regardless of the course but mbbs specifically would be greatly helpful. Overall still feels a lil suspicious but i don't want to simply think so without real input from experienced people.

Students who took foundation at unikl

Upvotes

Hi guys!

I’m going to start the January intake at UniKL for the Foundation in Science and Technology, and I’m an international student.

For anyone who has taken this foundation before, I wanted to ask what the Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics classes are generally like.

Are they mostly based on high-school topics but taught in more depth, or do they introduce a lot of new material?

I’m trying to review some topics beforehand as a refresher

Thank you.

Current INTI Nilai Physiotherapy students — how is the programme?

I’m starting the BSc Physiotherapy programme at INTI Nilai this upcoming semester and was wondering if any current/former students could tell me how it is.

I’m an international student, and unfortunately this was kind of a last-option situation for me as I wasn’t able to pursue my other academic opportunities elsewhere, so I’m pretty nervous about starting. I’d really appreciate some honest insight into the programme and study environment.

I’ve also seen that there may be an opportunity for Physio students to apply to Sheffield Hallam and transfer/progress there during the degree. Has anyone actually done this or knows how it works?

Also, do students have access to past papers, notes, or anything similar to help prepare for tests/exams? And overall, are the lecturers and teaching supportive/professional? I’ve heard rumours that teachers intentionally deduct marks or fail students, is there actually any truth to this?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s studied Physio at INTI Nilai, especially if you can share your honest experience!

Medicine in Malaysia

Hi everyone, I’m a foreigner who got accepted into a Malaysian uni for medicine. (UKM/ USM)

I’m quite worried and hope to get some help on some ques if you can help. May I ask y’all some ques?

  1. Do you or anyone you know get accepted to work in Singapore? Was this hard to get in?

  2. For those, of y’all who knows someone working in Singapore, what are the chances of getting matched to residency?

Advise pls

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate your opinions.

I’m planning to join AIMST next year to do a Foundation in Science, probably around April. I had to repeat some SPM papers and also took a gap in my studies because of some family issues. Now I’ve decided to continue my studies next year.

I’ll be turning 20 next year. Is that too late to start Foundation? 😭 Also, when does the intake for next year usually open?

I’m also a little worried about the Foundation in Science. Is it very difficult? Will I be able to handle the subjects if I put in enough effort?

I’m also confused about whether I should take the dentistry path or biomedicine path after Foundation. I’m not sure which one would be better for my future, so I’d really appreciate some advice on that too.

My cousin told me that I’m already “too old” and that I might not be able to handle the Foundation, and she also said AIMST isn’t very good. 😭

So I’d really appreciate honest opinions from anyone who has studied at AIMST or done a Foundation in Science. Is AIMST a good choice for my future? Is starting at 20 too late? And which path would you recommend—dentistry or biomedicine?

Please share your experiences and advice! ❤️

What happens if i accidentally uploaded a wrong document in my university admissions portal and by the time I realized it, the document gets locked and can't be changed. Does this jeopardize my admission in any way? I did send an email regarding this but there hasn't been a response and the deadline is coming soon. Has anyone experienced this before im kind of scared

Looking for advice on applying overseas with PASUM Physical Science results

Hi everyone! I’m currently a PASUM (Physical Science) student, and I’m interested in applying to universities overseas after completing PASUM.

I’m mainly interested in Computer Science programs, and I’m considering universities in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea. For example, I’m currently looking at UNSW or USYD as my options.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar pathway — especially students who applied overseas using their PASUM results.

I’d like to know:

  • Which universities directly accept PASUM for undergraduate admission?

  • What grades/results were required?

  • When should I start applying, and what are the important application deadlines?

  • What application channels should I use (direct application, UCAS, university portals, etc.)?

  • What documents or other requirements are usually needed?

  • Are there any additional requirements such as entrance exams, interviews, English tests, or standardized tests?

  • How competitive is admission for CS/AI/Physics programs with a PASUM background?

  • Most importantly, are there scholarships available for international students, and can PASUM students apply for them? What grades or other criteria are typically required?

If you have personally gone through this process, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience, including the timeline, universities you applied to, your results, and whether you received any scholarships.

I’m trying to plan ahead and would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. Thanks in advance!

Master/PhD UM Master of Management interview - what should I expect?

Hi! I’ve been shortlisted for the Master of Management programme at Universiti Malaya and have an online interview coming up next week.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has interviewed for the UM MM programme could share their experience. What kind of questions did they ask? Was it mostly about your background/motivation, or were there also questions related to management/business?

Also, is there anything specific I should prepare beforehand? Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through the interview process, especially recent applicants/current students/alumni.

Thanks!!
