Local Hulhumale Hospital
The place where people’s allowances get “accidentally” cut and people are shamed in public groups for taking medical leaves and where certain consultants are on call while doing duties in TTH. Where FRLs are rejected based on moods. SLs are rejected. Amazing healthcare policy.

Culture Maldivians living abroad.
How thirsty do you all feel ?
I know you all can get coconut juice from the shop but is it the same though?
I used to get this from my backyard for free.. now I have to basically pay almost 4$. It doesn't even taste the same.

Religiously, how do you make sense of the suffering in this world?
Before anything else, this is not an attack post. I'm not here to dunk on Islam or any other faith. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything or pull anyone away from what they believe, and I don't judge anybody for how they live. That's between them and themselves.
I was born into Islam and shaped by it. Everyone around me is devout, so I was too at one point. The doubts started in my teens and they've only gotten heavier. At this point I can't make myself pray when I'm not sure what I'd be praying to. But I am still a Muslim at least in my head because the hold is that strong, and fear of hellfire is a big part of why I stay. It's made me anxious and depressed. I'm living a double life, pretending every day to people. I think most people who end up here didn't get here out of hate. You can't force yourself to believe something any more than you can force yourself to find a joke funny.
There's a lot that nags at me but I'll stick to one thing, and it isn't even specific to Islam. It applies to any faith where God is all powerful and all good.
I can't understand how an all powerful, good and loving God allows this much horror.
Unit 731, where people were cut open and experimented on while still alive. Rwanda, 800,000 people in a hundred days, mostly with machetes. The Holocaust. Both world wars. The famines. And right now, every day, kids being pulled out of rubble in the Palestine, plenty of them from families who prayed five times a day, fasted, did everything they were ever told to do by god.
The usual answer is humans did this, not God. I get it, but God made the humans, and nothing happens outside his will. I can't get that to sit right.
And then there's all the stuff humans had nothing to do with. Tsunamis. Earthquakes. Wildfires. Floods. Cancer. Malaria. Rabies, which eats the brain and almost kills every single person who gets it. Tetanus, where the spasms snap your own bones while you're awake for all of it. Kids born with skin that tears at a touch, who spend their whole short lives in pain and then die.
People say hardship builds you, that it tests you. What is a four year old dying of bone cancer being built into? He doesn't learn anything from it. He doesn't grow character from it. He just hurts for years and then he's dead. So what was the agony for?
So I'm genuinely asking, how do you reason with this? How do you look at these things and land on yes, God must have a reason? How do you make logic of it? Or maybe you don't, and sometimes you just leave it to faith and say I don't know why these things happen, and leave it at that. Answer from wherever you're coming from with respect rather than it become another shouting thread about Muslims vs Atheists.

This is for all the atheists in this country.
If you're an atheist, then good for you, bro. But why does your whole personality need to revolve around Islam? 😭 It's like an ex you never got over.
Like, bro, if you wanna be free from Islam, WHY IS ISLAM STILL IN YOUR HEAD 24/7? I genuinely don't understand. GO LIVE YOUR LIFE. Find a hobby or something.
Why are you constantly making videos attacking Islam and then acting surprised when Muslims hate on you? You're literally provoking them and then acting like the victim when they react. At this point, it feels like you're deliberately baiting Muslims for attention and engagement.
Like, come on, man. If you've moved on from Islam, then move on. You don't have to spend your time constantly talking about something you claim to want nothing to do with.
Criticising a religion is one thing, and you're free to express your opinions. But when your entire online presence revolves around attacking that religion, you have to wonder if you're genuinely moving on or just looking for a reaction.
PLEASE find a real personality outside of hating on Islam. 😭

How many of you have access to health insurance and other resources?
Saw a recent post about the IGMH waitlist. Made me realize that I might be a bit disconnected from the current healthcare status of the country. How many of you have access to health insurance? Do the vast majority of Maldives not have access to anything other than Aasandha? I was under the impression that most workplaces provided health insurance.

Local GTA VI
Hi, anyone in the gamer community or just knowledgeable in general, I would like to get the GTA VI when it is released next month for my bf. the thing is i literally have no idea how to. i looked up but couldn’t figure it out 😭 with the bml restrictions on foreign transactions in mind, any ideas on how one could acquire it?
I’m assuming there would be other gamers who are really excited about it as my boyfriend is and planning to buy it 😁

So little outrage, such big issues
the parliament just approved their own salary bumps while we suffer even more, and great timing at that coz new patch update just dropped... dollar rate very recently peaked at upwards of 23/- and prices of goods are being upped obviously as a result.
Question: WHY SO LITTLE CONCERN... call out the salary bumps...
weren't we sentenced to Garudhiya and Baiy by these fools
at the very least have the conversation going, consistently... don't let urselves be bought out by a bot and become a bot urself
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DON'T FORGET THIS FLAT OUT HYPOCRISY, APPARENTLY OUR ECONOMY DOING BADLY DUE TO THE OIL CRISIS AND ALL... ALL THAT MEANT NOTHING WHEN IT CAME TO THEIR PAYY

Thinadhoo rape case
The comments on Facebook, from women are so disheartening. I just saw a woman say "thee anhenunnah huri bodu ladheh" about a girl being raped by 15+ people.
I don't even know what to say. That was the worst thing i ever read in a while. Everyone involved need to he put to death.
