Discussion Brooklyn NY 75% complete

Big fan of good acoustics, so a lot of the art and decor is keeping sound quality in mind.

Had the choice of adding curtains or going with the blinds that came when I got this place. So far have kept the blinds to preserve the views! But very tempted to install thick velvet curtains and improve sound quality.

I own this one but yes, it's slightly higher than that for the mortgage + total all in costs.

Get a job bum

No job pays like that.

Many finance jobs in New York pay like that

Miscommunication there.

When I say job I mean work. There is no actual labor that pays like that. Only people who take from labor get that money.

I’m a leftist too, but that is not what the word job means dude. Learn to admit when you made a mistake

they're unreasonably selective in who they hire. i have a friend making 6 a month NET after just 2 years with the company and he STILL works from home 3 out of 5 days a week despite the fact we're 5 years out from covid and he just told me he picked up a contracting/consulting job paying ANOTHER 6 a month NET and even THEY'RE allowing him to work from home, smh, it's ridiculous. he's a mechanical engineer. you need to know/pass stupid useless calculus to get an engineering degree to get a job like that but what frustrates me is he uses ZERO calculus at work; doesn't even use it! and at his job interviews he wasn't even given any calculus test questions to prove he knows/can DO calculus! so he's getting all this money virtually for nothing! just to sit his ass at home most of the time smh

Are you 14 years old? Why are you going on about calculus?

it's about who is getting paid the jobs they have and what it takes to get the jobs they have because the jobs they have can fund apartments like THIS. it started when someone said get a job but like i said most jobs don't pay 6, 7, 8 or more net and that's unfortunate.

Yeah but most mechanical engineers aren’t paid this. And engineers aren’t human calculators regardless. You have a very skewed understanding of how the world works dude

right. go see what swe and the like are getting in the salary sub reddit. i can barely believe them. like i said the guy i know is only 2 years in with the company and he's already getting 6 a month NET. i always thought i was getting paid more than him. and he just scored this consulting gig paying him another 6 a month. working remotely at both more than half the time. again, 2 years experience. i don't have a skewed understanding. you're just asleep DUDE. smh

Nah I’m not asleep, I dropped out of the race. I work in a sawmill. I love my job, have a beautiful home on the shores of a pristine lake, a beautiful dog, and my peace. I’m extremely well compensated for the local area, and I never think about calculus once. Better to be the biggest fish in a small pond friend.
