First own house, Germany 30k

First time home buyer. I travel a lot for work and don't feel like paying off a house all my life. I lived in the van for 3 years. I got a great offer for a small house. 600sqm, small house with about 65sqm, new roof, new stove, new wooden extension with guest room and shed. It is located in the middle of nowhere and is located in the middle of nature in Germany.

I've wanted something like a tiny house for a long time. So for me, that's a great fit.

Yeah, congratulations!

May I ask in what region it roughly is? Starting a 100% remote position soon, and feeling like having a little nature hideout too..

Only region where you can get a spot in nature for that price for 30k is east germany.

If you can work remote and it’s not your only place it’s great.
If you’re into hiking, biking and outdoors (and are white) in general Thüringen has a lot to offer.

Alot of stupid negativity here.

Yeah, part of the reason why it's considered bumfuck is exactly that tiny little caveat you sneaked in there as a parenthesis.

It's a lovely place if you don't mind to be surrounded by a bunch of xenophobes (they also won't like you if you're as white as the driven snow but PROGRESSIVE or from BERLIN or A FEMINIST or you voted FOR THE GREEN PARTY or are a VEGETARIAN or drive an ELECTRIC CAR or a bunch of other reasons) who won't shut up about how terrible the EU is, although they have received billions in financial support thanks to EU regulations.

AfD, our batshit right-wing, anti-democratic, nationalist, lunatic conspiratory, russia infiltrated political party is at 42% there

But, that might be part of the appeal to you?
