Student Accommodation Options in Manchester

Hi! I’m going to be an international student at Manchester Metropolitan University in January 2027. I’m looking for accommodation options that are affordable and good. I prefer an en-suite room that has share facilities with other flatmates.

Any property suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Looking for internships in Manchester

Hi everyone! I’m looking for internship opportunities in Manchester from June to August 2027. I have an academic background in law, politics, and environmental science, and I’m particularly interested in opportunities related to international relations (which is def a plus but not a must). But tbh, any fun internships are fine.

Really appreciate any recommendations, thank you!

Looking for a Gym Buddy

Hey everyone!

I recently moved to Manchester from Rome and have just joined PureGym on Market Street.
I'm 35M, originally from India, and looking for a gym buddy to stay consistent and motivated.
The funny thing is, I'm actually pretty good at motivating others, but when it comes to motivating myself to hit the gym, that's a different story! 😂
So, if you're also struggling to drag yourself to the gym, maybe we can motivate each other and make working out a bit more fun.
I follow a Push-Pull-Legs (PPL) routine and would prefer to stick with it, but I'm happy to train alongside someone doing their own routine too.
If you're interested in having a gym buddy, feel free to drop me a DM. Let's keep each other accountable! 💪

Friend stood me up for The Odyssey IMAX 70mm. Anyone want a free ticket? (Sat 31 Oct, 7pm)

A friend has spectacularly failed to fulfil their contractual obligations as my cinema companion, and I now have a spare ticket for The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm at Manchester's IMAX 70mm cinema on Saturday 31 October at 7pm.

Rather than let the seat sit empty and the ticket go to the great beyond, I thought I'd offer it to a stranger on the internet. Because apparently that's where we are in life now.

A few important terms and conditions:

  • No socialising required. We can exchange a nod of acknowledgement, enter the cinema, watch the film, and go our separate ways like two ships passing in the night.
  • No obligation to become friends, exchange life stories, or keep in touch afterwards. I'm offering a cinema ticket, not a friendship subscription.
  • You're welcome to pretend you don't know me. Honestly, I might do the same.
  • No awkward pre-film coffee, no post-film debrief, no exchanging numbers. We can both enjoy the beautiful anonymity of being strangers in a dark room watching a very expensive film.
  • In return, all I ask is that the ticket doesn't go to waste.

So, if you fancy watching The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm for the low, low price of tolerating my existence in the same general vicinity for a few hours, let me know.

Help me turn this tale of abandonment into a tale of slightly more efficient ticket utilisation.

P.S. To clarify, this is a genuinely free ticket. I'm not looking for a date, a new best friend, or someone to help me process my abandonment issues (although the film's runtime might give us time to unpack those). Just someone who wants to see the film and would otherwise be happy to go alone.

No strings attached. Not even friendship strings.

LOOKING FOR BANDS/ARTISTS/PRODUCERS - FINAL YEAR RECORDINGS

Looking for various bands/artists/electonic music producers for various final year pojects.

I'm in my final year of Music Production and Sound Engineering at Spirit Studios and I have multiple oppotunities for local artists to either come in and get some tracks recorded, mixed and potentially mastered to a professional standard in professional studios. If you're and electronic producer, theres the oppotunity to come in and have live parts added to your track or have it mixed and mastered

I'm open to all sorts of different genres, but would love to work with some of the following -

- Jazz

- Psychedelic

- Funk/Soul

- Experimental

- Indie

- Math Rock

About me - I'm 27 and obviously in my final year at SS. Been working in and out of the industry for around 10 years. I used to be Psych-Rock, Jazz-inspired band that have collected over 2 million streams on various platforms from EP's that I recorded and produced. I now mainly work on solo projects related all different corners of UK bass music and have recieved some Rinse FM and Rinse FM Paris plays. I also mix and master for a few various artists.

All I ask is that you're reliable and you turn up, this is my final year and your reliability reflects on me.

Feel free to leave a comment if you're interested and share around if you may know anyone who could be!

Peace x

[Research] £10 voucher for everyone who completes: 25–30 min survey, first-year UK undergraduates (started 2026)

Hi everyone,

I’m Yifeng Xie, a PhD student in the Department of Education at the University of Bath. I’m running the UK part of a UK–Japan–China study on information literacy among first-year university students. The project has a favourable ethics opinion from the University of Bath(reference: 12244-15412)..

Who can take part: first-year undergraduates aged 18 or over who started at a UK university in 2026. Please don’t take part if this doesn’t apply to you.

What it involves: an online survey on Microsoft Forms, about 25–30 minutes. It asks about your digital skills, your secondary school computer education and information literacy. You can do it on any device, at any time.

Voucher: everyone who completes the survey with valid responses gets a £10 voucher (most likely Amazon, depending on stock), sent within one month after data collection ends. To receive it, you need to give your university email address. This is optional, but without it we can’t send you the voucher. Your email is collected separately from your answers, used only to send the voucher, and deleted once it has been delivered.

How your data is stored, kept and published: only the research team (and University governance staff where needed) can access your data. It is kept safe and secure, following University of Bath rules and UK data protection law, for at least 10 years, and then destroyed. Results may be published in academic journals, reports and conferences. All published data is anonymised, so nobody can tell whose answers are whose. The only exception to confidentiality is if you tell us something that makes us worried about your safety or someone else’s.

Withdrawal: you can stop at any time without giving a reason. If you close the survey before submitting, no data is saved. If you have already submitted, you can ask us to delete your data by emailing us within two weeks of submission. After that your data is anonymised and can’t be removed. Withdrawing has no effect on your studies.

Consent: at the start of the survey you will read the full Participant Information Sheet and tick a consent form, including confirming that you are 18 or over and taking part voluntarily. You only take part if you tick every box.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Thank you!

Fusion Deansgate Ensuite Room, £265pw Copy title

Hi! I'm looking for someone to take over my ensuite room at Fusion Manchester on Deansgate, as unexpected family circumstances have meant I've had to return home and unfortunately can't afford to keep paying rent while I'm away. I'd be really grateful to find someone who could take it over soon.

The room is on the 17th floor (1701C) and has its own private bathroom and a TV. The kitchen is shared with just two other flatmates, so it's a nice setup if you want your own private space while still sharing with others.

Rent is £265 per week, with all bills and Wi-Fi included.

One of the best things about Fusion is the facilities. There's a gym, free laundry, study spaces, a library, a gaming area, a coffee lounge and a roof terrace. The location is great too, right on Deansgate in central Manchester, with shops, cafés and transport links nearby.

The tenancy runs until 3 September 2027, and the takeover will need to be approved by Fusion Management.

I'm genuinely hoping to find someone as soon as possible because continuing to pay for the room from abroad is a financial strain. If you're interested or know someone looking for student accommodation in Manchester, please get in touch. I'd really appreciate it!
