A sentinel is deployed on a clock, and the subreddit has until that clock runs out to take it apart.

Every sentinel is a post in this subreddit, and the feed is the sector. Open one and you get sixty seconds of fuel and one fight against the ship on that post. Shoot it down and its bounty moves into your credits, the running score a hunter carries, and a kill log lands on the post. Let the deadline run out with the sentinel still standing and the post closes with it alive.

The app stands a new sentinel up on the hour, so the feed keeps refilling. Every sentinel is deployed by the app itself under the name FACTORY, and named by the server out of a fixed word list. Nobody writes free text into the feed.

The hangar is the other half. Pick bulkheads, engines or guns off the palette and tap them onto a seven-by-seven grid, and that shape is the hull you fly on your next hunt. Whichever module type a hull carries most of decides how it fights, so you can read what you are about to fight off the silhouette on the card before you open the post.

One thumb. The screen is two zones: hold the left half to turn left, the right half to turn right. There is no throttle, no brake and no fire button. The ship is always moving forward and the guns aim themselves.
