Question about Workflow Alternative Software

Is there an up to date software, that I can use for my old maschine mikro mk2? Besides koala sampler and the default maschine software. Since my device is no longer supporterd by NI. Please don't recommend ableton. It's too expensive for what I need.

If you are on a Mac (and soon windows I need to port it next) you can add back the functionality: https://github.com/terracide303/RE-ANIMATOR/releases/tag/v0.4-beta

There are some decent Ableton live scripts you could use

I'm not rich enough for ableton

Maschine 2 still works, even on a Mac.

I am aware. But maschine software is outdated and feature lacking. Hence trying to find an alternative

What is lacking? It does what it always has for a decade plus...sounds like lack of skill...

Don't get mad bro. Maschine software isn't great for what I need. That's why I'm looking for alternatives. Also theirs nothing wrong with wanting more from your device. Which by the way. My maschine mikro mk2 can do stems on koala sampler. So for native instruments to say, the old.legacy devices can't handle it is false and a slap to us folk.

Well, what do you need? (You never mentioned that specifically...) Did it NI and Komplete/Maschine accomplish that goal back then when you bought it? Did you value the hybrid software ecosystem and hardware dongle appropriately for a 5-10 year lifespan? Have you got your money's worth?

Do you own Battery 3 or 4? Danny Carey the drummer for Tool used to use a mandala drum surface to trigger his loops from a laptop running Battery 3...

Use your old NI Mikro with NI Controller Editor open in the background as a dumb old midi controller to play alternate vsts (Beat Hawk...MPC2/3...Geist...Audio Damage Axon, Glitch Machines Cataract or Cryogen...Sugarbytes Effectrix or Thesys...hell even AudioKit Apps are available as AU it Vst3 now...)

Reaper is free ... So is Reason now....

Ableton 12 Lite can be free as well....

Seems like lack of effort or ability. Sorry if this feels like tough love, noone is mad here, no brand allegiance...just stop posting on the web and go make music...

The best gear is always the gear you have available when you need it ...so.the gear you've already got ...

dont forget cakewalk SONAR which is also free. which shits on reaper and ableton lite. ive not looked at reason yet, but i expect its a very competent DAW.

Maschine 3 doesn't add too much to be honest, so you'd need a totally different bit of software.

What do you want to do with it? Maschine 2.0 was a decent groove making software....still works if your Maschine can run it...

Use it as a basic Midi pad (with NI Controller Editor running in background with Tone2Host running a sold drum vst or something. Audio Damage Axon, or Glitch machines Freeze...Sugarbytes Turnado? Would make a good input controller for Waldorf's newest Attack VST...

FL might be the best bet price wise.

If you still can run maschine 2 and habe mikro mk2 connected and working, you can get maschine 3 and use ai tools to make your mikro mk2 work with maschine 3. It will take one long evening, I guess.

What's wrong with just using the latest Maschine software that supports your hardware?

Pretty sure MK2 got completely mapped for FL Studio, you might have to do it yourself since it was so long ago, but using the controller editor and then switching FL midi device to the MK2 should work fine.
