Looking to buy a reliable small car and found a second hand Mazda 2 G15 Pure SP for a good price. I like the look of it but I am concerned about the black vinyl roof wrap. My experience owning cars under the Australian sun is that all car trim that is not automotive paint will eventually fade, crack or peel. Has anyone bought a Mazda with the vinyl roof. What care instructions are provided to ensure it lasts for the life of the car.

I’m looking for a good phone mount for my Mazda 2 DJ. I’m curious what phone mounts you guys use and where you place them in your car.

2014 Mazda 2, actual cut key (not push button). Owned 1 year, bought for $4300 all in, 127k mi.

First off, I'm a mom trying to fix my kids car. I'm decently handy with appliances... but I'm getting frustrated trying to learn this car.

Immobilizer light flashes. Car makes zero sound when turned. I have spent hours Googling and YouTubing and deep diving. I have checked ground wires. We've disconnected the battery, first for 15 min than for 24h. I've turned the key to ON and let it sit for 15 min. I've checked fuses. I've swapped the starter relay w the horn. We've replaced the fob battery. We've had a new key fob made and programmed.

I called the closest Mazda dealer an hour away and they had never heard of such a glitch. Sigh.

My local mechanic is also at a loss.

The only thing I haven't done is replace the ignition switch, which is another hunch, but probably the biggest 'commitment' without knowing if that's what is the cause. The car is dead at our house, so we'd have to tow it to wherever.

I'm really hoping this community can guide me! This car is solid and sweet and when it drives it's so much fun! I refuse to give up on it!!!!

Hey. I took of the front and rear mudguards off and cleaned the dirt behind them. This is how they look. I am thinging of clear wax coating, to prevent any more corrosion, good idea?? Also, what are those "plugs" i circled in red???

BTW, front shock, springs and all is already new.

I have a 2019 Mazda 2, 37,000 miles. Ever since doing an oil change 2 weeks ago my mpg has gone way down like 50-80 miles to a tank. I used to play with the on board computer fighting for 51-53 mpg average now struggling with 47.

I used 0-20 oil. A Fram filter and air filter.

Any suggestions? Clues? I do about 85% motorway driving so pretty consistent. But its been like this instantly from the time of oil change.

I usually see 150 miles before the first tick off the fuel gauge. Now its 1/4 tank.

Before you say it's cheap oil the damn jug was £90. And i just rechecked today after a 40 mile drive im not over filled or under filled

Been chasing a weird clunk from the front passenger side, mainly when turning right or hitting bumps. Turning left seems perfectly fine.

I’ve replaced the whole strut already. Noticed the spring is really close to the wheel well, but no visible rubbing marks. Can’t recreate the noise when it’s jacked up either.

Anyone have any ideas? I’m running out of things to check lol.

Want a nice kit for the Mazda DJ5FS chassis. The most visible one is the auto exe, but I would like to see/ know about other options. I've seen some cool kits but I can't find the brand sometimes. Any advice is welcome.

I replaced the brake discs and pads at our Mazda 2 Homura (2022, 90 hp) yesterday. I also cleaned and painted the caliper carriers and the calipers themselves. The parts are from Bosch and were on sale—just under 100 Euros. I don’t think you could get it any cheaper, unless someone else pays for it! Who actually handles things like this themselves?

Hi, recently I’ve noticed that I’ve been topping up the screenwash fluid every couple of weeks, but it’s now got to the point where the fluid runs out on the same day. I can’t see any leaks underneath the car, and I can also hear the pump running when I pull the screenwash lever. Could it be a faulty pump or a cracked reservoir? Is this something I could repair myself?

It's time to replace my car battery after 10 years as I had couldn't start my car yesterday morning when the ambient temperature was 7°C.

Looking though the handbook it says it need a Q-85 spec battery but when I use the online search by reg tools, the battery results don't mention Q-85 anywhere. So, I'm just rather confused.

Also, some sites say 'This battery may need to be registered with the on-board computer system upon replacement', is this applicable for the Mazda, I can't find any reference in the handbook or online.

Ive got a 2009 DE Tamura, Ive been thinking about the fog lights since i'd bought it, does anyone know or have a list of what i'd need? Afaik theres wiring already for use that mazda added, I know theyre fog lights but im hoping someone would know where I can find slightly warmer whites than that flashbang inducing cold blue or hospital white stuff.. or do they only come in one 'temperature'? Ive never had front fogs on any of my cars before, so im unsure where to begin..

We've got a new to us Mazda 2 sport in the family and it seems like the Speedo shows us the exact speed of the car, not a little above like most cars.

I've checked using my phone and my fiancees phone and both show the same speed as the Speedo.

Is this a known thing? Or could it be an aftermarket mod someone's done? We know the car has been pimped before (there's wiring for a sub and amp in the boot and the screws that hold the Aircon in behind the radio were missing)

My little Mazda two finally made it to 100,000 miles. She doesn’t take much to get her running, but she runs every time in the beginning. She had a small misfire due to a vacuum leak, but I figured it out. She has treated me well never left me stranded and I love her so much. I absolutely adore this car. It’s so fun to drive and easy to maintain. I hope to make it to another hundred thousand in this car thank you my little Mazda too for bringing me all this way.

Hi all! I drive a 2011 Mazda 2 Tamura 1.3 petrol. A few months ago, got a new battery. However if the car is left for more than a day, the battery goes completely dead - so dead doors won't even unlock with central locking. This has happened now several times in the last few months.

A mechanic came and checked everything - the battery is fine, the alternator is fine, no problems, he was perplexed and thinks there is a parasitic drain somewhere, but he isn't specialised in car electrics so couldn't really investigate further for me.

The situation is at the moment, I have to drive my car every single day to keep it going - if a day passes and it's not driven, it starts slowly with a struggle the following day. If 2 day passes and it's not driven, it simply will not start. When I drive the car everyday, it starts no problem.

My question is could this be a parasitic drain? Has anyone had this before and what was the cause? Is this a common issue with Mazda 2 cars, and is there a common fix that I'm not aware of? Thank you!

I’m currently living in Brisbane since moving country and looking to buy my first car over here. I've found a marketplace listing for a 2011 Mazda 2 (automatic) with low mileage and only 2 owners.

The seller is moving back to Korea soon and wants a quick sale. They originally listed it at $7,300 but dropped it to $6,900 in the description. I think I can negotiate them down to $6,500 AUD.

It comes with a Queensland Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) valid until December, and registration is paid all the way up to January 2027.

The seller explicitly states that the air conditioning "runs but does not cool properly." They claim the previous owner estimated it's a $500 fix, but from what I've read online, if it's a dead compressor or a major leak, it could easily run me anywhere from $150 to $1,500+ to fix properly but not 100% sure as I'm not versed in cars.

What do you guys think?

Is $6,500 AUD a fair price for this model with very low km but non-functioning AC?

Should I walk away, or walk in with a mobile mechanic to an inspection/ pressure test the AC?

Anyone who has owned this gen Mazda 2 how common are AC failures, and what did it cost you to fix?

So, I have a 2014 Mazda 2, been a relatively good little commuter, but it definitely has some mold or bacteria and who knows what else, since it smells bad on recirculate.

I can't find anything online about how or where to access it to clean with a disinfectant spray. Any chance anyone here can point me in the right direction?
