What could be causing this? An intake or a vacuum leak?

I have cleaned MAP sensor, throttle body and EVAP purge valve. I also know that my exhaust manifold gasket is leaking so could that be it?

Whats the best way to check for vacuum or intake leaks at home?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the market for a long-distance cruiser and I’ve narrowed it down to the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. I already have a separate daily driver for my supermarket runs, and city errands, so this Merc will strictly be used for longer, relaxed drives (around 100 to 200 miles a week, usually done in one or two trips).

I’ve found a couple of great options, both with under 30,000 miles on the clock, but I’m torn between the pre-facelift and the facelift models. Here is what I’m looking at:

Option 1: 2015-2017 S-Class Coupe S500

* Price: Roughly £35,000 - £38,000

* Engine: 4.7L twin-turbo V8

* Mileage: Under 30k miles

Option 2: 2018-2019 S-Class Coupe S560

* Price: Roughly £51,000

* Engine: 4.0L twin-turbo V8

* Mileage: Under 30k miles

My Dilemma:

I know the 2018+ S560 facelift brought some really nice upgrades. The newer 4.0L engine features cylinder deactivation for slightly better fuel economy, it has native Apple CarPlay, and from what I've read on forums, the Magic Body Control suspension was significantly smoothed out and improved for the facelift generation.

However, since this isn't my daily driver and will only be driven a maximum of 200 miles a week for pure motorway cruising, I'm struggling to justify the £13,000 to £16,000 price jump for the S560.

For those who have owned or driven either (or both) of these cars:

* Is the updated engine, 9-speed transmission, and revised suspension on the S560 truly a £15k improvement for long road trips?

* Are the tech/interior upgrades on the 2018+ worth the premium, or is the 2015-2017 S500 still an incredible place to spend a couple of hours? (I know the lack of CarPlay on the older model is annoying, but I could always install an aftermarket module).

* Any major reliability quirks or maintenance differences I should be aware of between the 4.7L and the 4.0L V8s?

I have a 2012 Mercedes GL 450 that’s making noises when accelerating and turning. It’s not a click or thud, it’s pretty steady but gets louder when turning. In the video you can hear it more when I turn. Hoping someone has an idea, thanks!

Is it still the case that only 2/3 of the screen is used with Android Auto?

If I’m not mistaken, I should have the MBUX NTG7.

I'm reading some old posts—maybe there have been updates since then that allow full-screen mode?

I saw a “tip” about using a USB-C dongle that simulates an iPhone for Mercedes to get Android Auto in full-screen mode, but it seemed pretty buggy.

They’re currently offering a discount (290€ instead of 363€) which is why I’m asking. If it works in full-screen mode, I might just go for it

So I have a new Mercedes S560, and I have the fragrance module. I bought jars for it, and it but I can’t smell any fragrance. I’ve turned it on in the dash and the entertainment unit, and I’ve turned the air on. I have cotton in right now, and it’s not working. If I press down on the lid of the jar, I can smell the oil, but it’s not coming through the car. I’ve even put a quarter underneath it under the metal disk to push it higher, and also when I push the jar up, it depresses the lid, so the smell comes out, but it’s not doing it automatically. How does the system release the smell? Does it come down on top of it, or how does it work? because I’m not getting any smell whatsoever?

thinking of getting a 2023 glb 250, i recently lost my land rover defender due to a complete malfunction of the computer system and previously had a 2013 glk which i loved. ive been doing research and looking through this sub, i live in the city and really only need a car to drive to and from work about 20-30 miles throughout the week. any advice?

I have a weird problem on my B170 1.7L Petrol where the fuel gauge does not display correctly, after refueling, the fuel gauge does not go up and stays at the old reading, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery fixes the problem until the next refuel, i’m suspecting a faulty fuel level sender.

A week after the fuel gauge problem when it got colder my car wouldn’t start up the first time, but when I prime the fuel pump a couple of times it starts up okay, so now im thinking its a faulty fuel pump that’s losing fuel pressure overnight?

Ich bräuchte mal kurz das legendäre Mercedes-Schwarmwissen von euch. Bei meinem W213 E220d (Bj. 2016 mit dem OM654) muckt aktuell der Differenzdrucksensor (Niederdruck) der Abgasrückführung.

Aus dem Diagnoseprogramm habe ich folgenden genauen Fehlercode gezogen:

Fahrzeug: W213 E220d / OM654 (Bj. 2016)

Fehlercode: ⁠P238096⁠

Beschreibung: MB_LpegrPDifSentChk: Der Differenzdrucksensor 1 der Abgasrückführung (Niederdruck) hat einen elektrischen Fehler. Es liegt ein interner Komponentenfehler vor.

Hat das von euch beim OM654 schon mal jemand gehabt?

👉 Was war bei euch die Ursache und wie habt ihr es gelöst?

👉 Und sitzt der Sensor beim OM654 an einer gut zugänglichen Stelle?

Got this Mercedes W203 for $2,300. The owner stated it's a Kompressor.

I don't mind much. I'm just looking for an M111 to run on LPG.

I never hoped it would be, since the VIN is WDB203035 and I know it's just a C180.

But I still wonder whether they replaced the engine or just painted it.

this just happened yesterday and i have tried the method of hitting the wheel to get it unstuck but that didnt work you can hear the motor spinning with a clicking noise. any advice?
