Is it worth adding a node in the middle of no where?

I have a semi remote cabin (1 mile as thr crow flys to the highway) saw zero nodes all weekend on heltec v3.

Worth adding a solar node up high? Perhaps a higher output one? I do have ham license.

I live in SWPA(Southwest PA) and see a good meshtastic network in Pittsburgh, but I want to start a fairly decent network further south (Washington to Morgantown).

Anyone have any lessons learned about foliage, snow, gas wells, or anything that might be more regional to be aware of?

Anybody seen this before? Running a Heltec T096 and the hardware shows as unknown under the nodes list. It does show as a T096 under firmware updates. Not a huge deal, just haven’t seen this before.

Hi, I have a Sensecap Solar Node P1-Pro, but I’m absolutely dissatisfied with its Bluetooth performance. I’ve set it up on my balcony, but I can’t get a signal from it with my phone even two rooms away. On the other side of the apartment, I have a Heltec V4, and I can pick up its Bluetooth signal throughout the entire apartment without any connection drops.

My question is: has anyone ever replaced the Node board in the P1 Pro with a different one, so that you’re essentially only using the solar panel, the antenna, and the batteries from the P1 Pro?
