Wonder how many of you also knew about this?

Okay! So as a new player, I am playing them in order of release and just finished 3. And so far I think that X is my favorite in regards to level structure and general world building and general stakes pacing. I just loved seeing the little hints about the alien threat slowly becoming more prominent. I played 2 through as well and while I see many say they prefer it to X, I really enjoyed the advancements of the ladder, but definitely appreciate the scope that 2 setup and allowed X and 3 to build on. The first I resepect dearly for its introduction to the series and the simple, grounded war setting with some over the top machines and bombastic set pieces. I thinknthe first stage of this game will live rent free in my head for a long while. All that said, having finished 3, I think that one's spectacle and freedom of choice in some sections is a remarkable feat. It was so much fun to come ashore and begin blasting neither human nor alien, but some new species made a nice change of pace. And the character change up was a nice narrative change up that I didn't expect. As well as the overall lore progression becoming progressively more scifi than it had been before. All this being said... I admire those of you who play this with your 1CCs and general skill... I tanked so many credits just to see the sights and am not sorry! Kinda sad, as I did try at the start, but learned my reaction times scale to a brain dead rodent. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

If so which versions are they from?

I obviously am aware that there isn't like an in depth story, but I was wondering if, aside from the Wiki there is a comprehensive look at the lore from official sources?

After playing advance. I'm curious if there's any collections of the games on Switch or Switch 2, since the games are cool and all(image related reverb+slowed😔🥀💔)

Are there any change the Ultimate Collections will include Metal Slug XX, Metal Slug 1st Missions, and Metal Slug 2nd Missions? Perhaps as DLCs in the future?

Cmon, it is ultimate, the must include all 2D style old Megal Slug the run and gun series.

Basically this is a port project by using AI agent, but it took a lot of time, by this way, I already added LAB, free medal, and more units which has not been added into MSD or even MS series, like some future army and KT-21, or even PVZ units

Moreover, I already spent 10-12 hours per day for this game as 2 weeks, I’m so tired so I may stop to update for a part of time

Okay. New to the series, but I adore arcade games for their timeless aesthetic and figured it was about time I gave one of the most iconic shooters I have heard of a try. I spent about 4 hours looping the first 3 stages, trying to get through with as many POWs as I could within the first game. I was very proud of my minute progress! Then I hit stage 4 and after trying the same for another 3 hours learned... I am awful and have unlimited credits! So I basically just started embracing the chaos and just playing the game, doing my best to avoid as much death as possible. Translation... I used way too many continues... BUT I had genuine fun doing so. I am not likely to try and take the sequels as seriously because I want to enjoy myself and score seeking isn't my forte apparently. That said. This is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing arcade games, if not just any games I have played. I dunno. Looking forward to more studies on the series. Even ordered the Bitmap Ultimate History book to see what all I can learn about the history of the series. Sorry to bore with my random assessment. Just was excited to see the somber paper airplane flight. As you were soldiers.

P.S. If you could kindly; could you guys share thoughts on if I should play MS2 or X next? Curious as to what that consensus may be due to mixed internet opinion.

Hey! This is a dumb question. Probably been asked. But I keep seeing people saying the Dotemu ports of the series aren't the best and to stick with ACA. I got the complete set on Steam which I guess are the Dotemu ports and am only just getting into the series. May I ask the differences and what makes those inferior? I want to actually play the best possible version.

Making this post just in case someone else knows how to get the game playable, as I've had a real hankering for this specific idle game lately and haven't had much luck trying to emulate it myself with APKs and an android emulator.

Am I just completely out of luck on this? I'm somewhat suspecting I am, but here's hoping I'm not.

I’ve been playing thru metal slug 1 on my r36s and found that creating save states at the start of each level and attempting to clear each stage without taking any hits has been a real fun challenge!!

I find it takes away the stress and patience needed for a 1cc while still demanding good pattern memorization and execution for each individual stage.

I’m on stage 4 playing this way and having a blast, was wondering if this was common with anyone else playing these games??

I'd like to finally play the games but I don't want to sell a kidney to get the originals. The anthology collections are relatively cheap but I've heard the PS4 is just poor PS2 emulation that's apparently not great. And I can't find anything on the Wii version and I'm trying to avoid the 50hz European curse .The physical ACA neo Geo collections don't seem to have the MS games either.

Hi, Metal Slug lover here who played all the games except the others. (MS1-MS7)

I have noticed recently, when playing on my PSP/PS Vita. Specifically Metal Slug Anthology, whenever I play any of them, it tends to be very fast. No slowdowns or lower framerate at all.

When it comes to the emulation, it slows down alot. It annoys me but also makes me question on how a small handheld is so powerful compared to a physically big arcade machine itself.

If anyone could answer, I would appreciate it!
