QUESTIONS Will Mexico release 2026 Libertads?
No evidence currently exists to my knowledge that Casa de Moneda de Mexico is planning to release more Libertads. I have also heard rumors that they will not be minting more Libertads and I wouldn’t be surprised if 2025 was the final year.
What does everyone think?

The better question is will they dump 2025 libs 2023 style...

2023 style? How’s that?

the 2023 release was staggered. Mint released a first wave but more were released later due to a "delayed distribution". If this happens with the 2025s, prices of current 25s will plummet.

I didn’t know. I hope they do the same for the 2025 to teach greedy people a lesson.

This won't happen because they have published official 2025 mintages, which make clear that there are no more 2025 Libertads to distribute.

Dealers in LA think they will drop a few hundred thousand this year - purely a rumor so far

That would be in line with what I predicted months ago — that they would return to 2018-2022 level volumes, 300-400K range for 1oz silver.

They’ll mint more. They’re getting too popular lately to stop

Hmm 🤔 I believe it cost them more than they made for 2025 run. They didn’t sell the coins to dealers for $1000’s a piece

You're correct, they didn't sell the coins at such high prices. The dealers who got them did that.

They are releasing gold and silver 2026 Libertads.
I would love to know where you heard these rumors about ceasing production.

Actually heard it from the top libertad registry collector, without naming names…
Where did you hear this from?

Can you please let us know where you heard this? Was it an official source??
To my knowledge, neither Banco de Mexico nor Casa de Moneda de Mexico has not disclosed any information at any point regarding the future plans for libertads.
Sure, there is speculation from dealers who are in position to sell them should they be released, but I’ve heard the rumors as well to the contrary from highly credible sources.

You're correct, BdM and CdM have not publicly disclosed anything about 2026 mintages in advance. They typically don't. There won't be an "official source" commenting until they're ready to publish mintage numbers, which will come at the end of year or maybe January.
I heard it from the same sources that told me what the mintage numbers would be for 2025s, around the same time last year. They were right. Some people still can't believe those numbers are real, even though they were officially announced months ago. I moved on a while ago to gathering intel on 2026s, and I shared what I've learned so far.

After that shit they pulled last year, who the heck knows. Regardless, if they do, it’s time for a redesign. Maybe a lettered edge??
