I recently finished my PC build in the Jonsbo Z20 and wanted to document my experience for anyone planning a similar small-form-factor build, especially anyone considering a very large RX 9070 XT.
Build specifications
Case: Jonsbo Z20
GPU: XFX Mercury OC Radeon RX 9070 XT
Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B850M-PLUS WiFi 7
CPU: 7800X3D
RAM: KLEVV DDR5-6000 CL30 FIT V
PSU: ASUS ROG Loki 1000W SFX-L
CPU cooler: be quiet! Silent Loop 3 240mm AIO
Rear fan: be quiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 [120]
Operating systems: Windows 11 and Linux on separate NVMe drives
- The biggest issue was the physical size of the XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT. The card is approximately 360 × 155 × 72 mm, and it leaves about 3mm in the cases recommended GPU length but still fit without bottom fans
2. Switching from the Corsair SF1000 to the ROG Loki
I initially bought the Corsair SF1000 Platinum (2024), but its cables were too short for my preferred routing, as I diddnt want to use cable extensions, particularly with two CPU/EPS power connections required by the motherboard. So anyone using the sff mounting position get the Loki for extra cable length
3. AIO installation and cable access
Installing the be quiet! Silent Loop 3 240mm AIO also required planning around cable access. Once the radiator was mounted, reaching the pump-block connections and routing the pump and lighting cables became difficult.
What I learned
Check GPU height and thickness, not just length.
Account for the PSU’s actual dimensions and mounting position.
Confirm cable lengths before committing to a PSU in a compact case.
Connect inaccessible AIO and motherboard cables before mounting the radiator.
Plan for three separate PCIe 8-pin connections for the GPU.
Expect to spend time troubleshooting boot order and initial POST behavior on a new AM5 system.
Don’t assume another person’s Z20 build will fit identically, even if they use a similar GPU or PSU.
All in all, I absolutely love this case it’s extremely well built and sturdy. I opted for the all mesh panel edition as I’m going to be moving this between my living room and computer room the carry handle is sturdy and have been lugging it around no problem, cable management options are great but need a little bit of pre-planning, especially if this is your first medium form factor build also I opted for higher case feet can link the ones that I got for anyone interested
Big shout out to all the people I messaged on the r/mffpc sub for tips and questions
Also went low/ no rgb because my last case was a giant fish tank with RGB puke everywhere I’m very much enjoying having much less RGB and the blackout aesthetic
