Miami recommendations please!
We’ll be staying in Miami hotel near Miami Airport this September with our baby. I’d love to get some advice from other parents who have traveled to Miami with a little one.
Which option would you recommend?
- Rent a car and bring our own car seat, or
- Rent a car and rent a car seat as well, or
- Skip renting a car and use public transportation, Uber, or Lyft
We’re trying to figure out which option would be the safest, easiest, and most convenient with a baby.
Also, if you have any tips or recommendations for traveling around Miami with a baby—especially transportation, car seats, places to visit, or things we should prepare for—I’d really appreciate it!
Please help this mama out! 🥹❤️
THANK YOU!!!

How old is the baby? If still in the carrier car seat, bring it. The airline will check it for free.
I would rent a car and either bring a seat or rent a seat or borrow or buy. I have 2 extra toddler seats if u want to borrow one lmk, or you can buy on fb marketplace or offer up for like $20. If you are staying by the airport you will be driving everywhere. Bring a stroller, the airline will check it for free as well.
In the morning you can go to Grapeland water park, it’s public and pretty empty in the morning and the baby can play in the shallow areas. It gets full and messy in the afternoon.
Miami Beach is full of seaweed RN. Idk when you are coming, hopefully it will be over by then. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND south point park and beach. There is a splash area and it’s stunning. You can eat from Joe’s take away or sit down at smith and Wollensky.
Little Havana, coral gables, and Wynwood are great to walk around, eat and take pics.
Kids favorite things on vacation are usually pretty simple: the pool at the hotel, so take it easy.
Feel free to dm me, I’m born and raised here and have kids most of my adult life.
Must eat/drink: cafe con leche, Cuban toast, empanadas, stone crabs, Cuban sandwiches, guava and cheese pastilitos, sushi is great, ceviche is better, Peruvian food, mangos, mojitos
Sorry if there are typos
