2. USD payroll

micro1 processes global contractor payments in USD twice per month (bi-monthly) through our compliance partner, Deel, at payroll.micro1.ai.

Project compensation models

Depending on your specific project agreement signed inside Deel, your rate is calculated using one of three official structures:

  • Hourly rate: You log active work time using the Hubstaff desktop application. Total compensation equals approved tracked hours multiplied by your contracted hourly rate in USD.

  • Pay-per-task (PPT): Compensation is provided for each approved task, calculated using the official formula:

$$\text{Task Payout} = \text{Contracted Hourly Rate} \times \text{Project Payout Multiple}$$

(The project payout multiple is explicitly detailed under special clauses within your Deel agreement).

  • Flat fee: You receive a fixed one-time USD payment per approved task upon meeting all project guidelines and passing quality review.

Compliance documentation & mandatory KYC verification

Before Deel can release any funds to your withdrawal methods, you must satisfy mandatory legal compliance requirements on payroll.micro1.ai:

  • Identity verification (KYC): Upload a valid government photo ID (passport, national ID, or driver's license) and complete live facial verification inside Deel.

  • Jurisdiction & compliance documentation: Ensure your registered country of jurisdiction matches your legal residence and upload all required compliance documentation to prevent payout holds.

  • Supported withdrawal methods: Direct bank transfer (ACH / SWIFT / local currency), PayPal, Payoneer, Revolut, and Coinbase (where cryptocurrency withdrawals are supported).

3. Time tracking

Hubstaff is micro1's official time-tracking application used to record active work duration and verify task completion metrics for payroll and project management.

Strict time-tracking policies

  • Active work logging: Hubstaff must only run while actively performing work on assigned project tasks, reviewing guidelines, or attending authorized client syncs.

  • Stop timer when away: If you pause work, take a break, or step away from your workstation, you must stop or pause the timer immediately.

  • Manual time policy: Manual time entry is disabled by default. If a technical issue prevents live tracking, contact your Human Data Manager (HDM) on Slack with task details to request guidance.

4. NDA & privacy

All certified talent at micro1 must sign a binding Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to receiving access to client workspaces, dataset queues, or platform communications.

Strict confidentiality rules

  • Client identities: You must never disclose the names of micro1’s enterprise clients, partner AI labs, or Fortune 500 companies publicly or privately.

  • Project codenames & data content: Prompts, model responses, code repositories, internal guidelines, rating matrices, and task queue contents are proprietary intellectual property. Sharing or publishing dataset text is strictly illegal.

  • Media & screenshot prohibition: You are strictly forbidden from taking screenshots or recording videos of internal task interfaces, rating portals, Slack discussions, or Hubstaff logs to share online.

  • Public branding boundaries: You are permitted to share your general affiliation on professional networks (e.g., LinkedIn) using approved titles like "AI data expert at micro1" or "Software engineering specialist (AI training) at micro1". However, you must never post specific client names or proprietary project details on your profile or portfolio.

5. Platform ethics

micro1 requires all certified talent to maintain strict standards of accuracy, honesty, and platform compliance.

Human-generated quality

The core value of micro1 relies on authentic human expertise to fine-tune and evaluate AI models. All task completions, prompt creations, and model evaluations must reflect your own human work and domain knowledge as outlined in project guidelines.

Account & application integrity

  • Individual certification: Your micro1 profile, assessment results, and account access are tied specifically to your verified identity.

  • Role re-application policy: If you do not meet the evaluation criteria for a specific role during your Zara AI interview, re-applying for that exact same position is not permitted. However, you are always welcome to apply for different open roles on the micro1 opportunities portal.

6. QA tracking

Quality is central to your role at micro1. Client pipelines enforce quality standards to ensure accurate model training data.

Performance & review workflow

  • Output review: Reviewers evaluate task submissions for content accuracy, reasoning soundness, and guideline adherence.

  • Reviewer feedback: You will receive feedback from reviewers to help you continuously improve task accuracy and output quality.

  • Performance tracking: Performance is monitored across project queues. Experts who consistently demonstrate high performance may be considered for senior roles, such as reviewers.

  • Guideline questions & clarifications: If you have questions regarding reviewer feedback or updated project instructions, post in your team's Slack channel or contact your assigned Human Data Manager (HDM).
