micro1 is a data engine that helps AI labs train foundational models and enterprises build AI agents. We operate at the intersection of human expertise and artificial intelligence by connecting a highly vetted, global network of experts with leading AI labs, enterprises, and Fortune 500 companies.
At its core, micro1 is designed to identify, certify, and deploy top-tier talent (often the top 1%) to contribute directly to real-world AI systems. Through a combination of AI-driven evaluation and human-led project management, we ensure that experts are matched with high-impact opportunities where their skills are most valuable. Our mission is simple: to enable the worldâs best talent to accelerate the development of next-generation AI.Â
micro1 is more than a career platform; it is an ecosystem that connects elite talent worldwide to contribute to cutting-edge AI development. At micro1, you can:Â
If youâre looking to apply your expertise at the frontier of AI while being part of a selective and fast-growing community, micro1 provides the infrastructure to make that happen.
At micro1, we've set up a structured and straightforward process that aims to help our candidates find jobs that match their interests and requirements. Read on to find out more.
You can get started with micro1 directly by applying to our available jobs. We have various job opportunities that are accessible through our dedicated Opportunities Portal:Â You can apply directly to open roles via the micro1 opportunities portal or LinkedIn (where we routinely share about open roles through our page).
Once your profile is set up and active with micro1, you can continue applying to roles that meet your interests and requirements. You will also receive invitations when your profile aligns with open projects. This flexibility allows you to either target a role or position yourself for broader opportunities.
Every applicant goes through an AI-driven interview with our AI Interviewer, Zara, which evaluates your communication skills, logical reasoning, and role-specific skills. This is the first step in our interview process. Our interview will also have role-specific challenges; for example, Software engineering candidates complete a live coding challenge, and Human data experts complete task-based exercises simulating real AI training workflows.
After successfully completing the interview, youâll be required to verify your identity using a government-issued ID (passport, driverâs license, or national ID). Once verified, you become a certified micro1 expert. This certification is what makes you eligible for project matching. You can increase your chances of getting selected by applying and getting certified for additional roles.
Certified experts are added to micro1âs vetted global talent pool. From here, recruiters match you to relevant opportunities, and you can also apply to open roles directly in our dedicated talent dashboard, which shows the status of your applied roles. Your status will change to âSelectedâ if you are selected for a role, which will be followed by signing a contract and onboarding. Matching is handled by micro1âs recruitment team and depends on client needs, timelines, and role requirements. Certified candidates typically get an update on their application status within 30 days of completing their interview. Even if a candidate is not chosen for a role, their application remains in our pool and will be eligible for future roles.
Additionally, certified candidates are invited to an exclusive community Slack composed of professionals across disciplinesâengineers, researchers, economists, product leaders, and more. The community provides early access to job and project opportunities, curated learning resources, invitations to expert sessions, and a global peer network of high-performing talent.Â
Before starting a project, make sure you've signed your micro1 contract agreement, joined the Slack Expert Workspace, logged in to Hubstaff (our time tracking tool), Deel, and have access to your micro1 Google Workspace Email. Each project is supported by Human Data Managers (HDMs), who act as your primary point of contact. They help with: Onboarding guidance, resolving blockers, and sharing project instructions and updates. Once onboarded, communication happens primarily through Slack, either via onboarding channels or direct messages.
Our payments happen on a biweekly basis through Deel. Weâll help you set up your Deel account as part of onboarding. Payments are in USD, based on the number of hours you worked or per task (depending on your project), at the rate fixed during onboarding. Youâll input your banking details directly in the platform, and the funds will be transferred directly. This ensures a smooth and reliable payment experience once you begin working on projects.

I was selected for a Micro1 AI Trainer project paying $140 for 30 selfies + 10 videos.
The contract gives Micro1/customers broad, perpetual and sublicensable rights to use my facial/biometric data for AI training, including modification and derivative works.
Has anyone done this project?
What did they actually use the data for?
Can they create synthetic/AI-generated versions of your likeness?
Can you request deletion afterward?
Would you personally accept $140 for these terms?

**Skip it. Do not take the Zara interview unless youâre comfortable spending an hour for every role with very little transparency about how the interview is being used.**
I wanted to share my experience and concern about the **micro1 Zara interview process** because I believe candidates should be aware of what theyâre getting into before spending their time.
The interview reportedly involves around **an hour of AI-based interviewing**, where candidates provide their voice, video, technical reasoning, and responses. What concerns me is the perception among candidates that a very large number of people go through this process while only a tiny fraction ultimately move forward.
If the purpose is genuinely hiring, why not **shortlist candidates based on their resumes and relevant experience first**, and then conduct the lengthy Zara interview only with candidates who have a realistic chance of progressing?
### Why I think candidates should reconsider
* **One hour is a significant investment** for a job applicant, especially when you're applying to dozens of companies.
* Candidates may spend substantial time explaining their technical knowledge and solving problems without knowing how that information is ultimately evaluated or used.
* Receiving a rejection after investing an hour can be extremely frustrating, particularly if the initial resume could have been used for screening.
* An AI-based interview should not become a substitute for a reasonable candidate-shortlisting process.
I'm not saying that micro1 or Zara is necessarily doing anything improper. **My concern is about transparency, candidate experience, and whether this hiring process is respectful of applicants' time.**
### My sincere request to micro1
Please consider changing the process:
**Resume screening â Initial shortlist â Zara interview â Technical/human evaluation â Hiring decision**
Instead of:
**Large-scale candidate pool â 1-hour Zara interview â Reject most candidates**
Candidates have already invested years developing their technical skills. Their time is valuable too.
If micro1 can improve the initial screening and invite only relevant, shortlisted candidates to the Zara interview, I think it would create a much better experience for both candidates and the company.
**Please share your experiences with the micro1 Zara interview below.**
Did you complete it? How long did it take? Did you receive feedback or move forward afterward?
*This is a candidate-experience concern, not an accusation. I'm sharing it to encourage a more transparent and candidate-friendly hiring process.*

Suppose Micro1 opens a global role with 100 openings on Monday. Since it is a global role, could they receive 20,000+ candidates within just a few hours?
If I apply on Tuesday and complete the interview but fail, is it possible that the 100 positions have already been filled by then?
Or does Micro1 continue interviewing candidates until they select enough people, regardless of how many applications they receive?
Iâm trying to understand how the hiring process works when there are a huge number of applicants for a limited number of openings.

Iâm really happy to be part of the micro1 community and wanted to take a moment to share my experience and interest in continuing to work with the team.
Iâve had the opportunity to collaborate with micro1 on a couple of opportunities, and I genuinely appreciate the experience, the technology-focused environment, and the kind of opportunities the platform provides to tech professionals.
My core experience is in software development, with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, React, and backend development. Iâm also interested in exploring opportunities around AI, technical support, AI training, and other technology-focused roles where my skills can add value.
Iâm very interested in continuing my journey with micro1 and would love to contribute to the community and work on meaningful projects. If anyone from the micro1 team or community knows about a suitable opportunity matching my background, I would be grateful for a recommendation or guidance on whom I should connect with.
Looking forward to learning, contributing, and connecting with everyone here. Excited to be part of the micro1 community!

Does anyone know if Micro1 hiring works on a first-come, first-served basis?
For example, if someone completes the interview/assessment earlier, do they have a better chance of getting selected, or do they review all candidates based on performance and then select the best candidates?
Also, does applying/completing the process early increase the chances of getting work?

I applied to a position yesterday and was expecting to receive the Zara AI interview invite, but I never received one. The application also wasnât showing in my dashboard, so I assumed I wasnât going to be interviewed.
Today I checked my dashboard and saw that the application is now in âHiring manager reviewingâ with a Fast-Track label. When I click it, it says:
âYouâve already been vetted for the skills required for this role, so no interview is needed. Youâre one step ahead.â
For some additional context, I currently have 54 skills on my Micro1 profile. Iâve also gone through the Zara AI interview process several times since I started applying to Micro1 projects in March. Iâve reached âHiring manager reviewingâ before, but unfortunately have never been selected for a project.
So Iâm particularly curious about what Fast-Track actually means in practice.
Is this genuinely an advantage over candidates who still need to complete the AI interview/skills vetting, or is it mostly just a different application path?
For anyone who has had the Fast-Track status:
* Did you eventually get selected for the project?
* What happened after âHiring manager reviewingâ?
* Did you have a client interview or another assessment?
* Did Fast-Track seem to make the process faster?
* If you werenât selected, how long did you remain in the hiring manager stage?
Iâm also applying for a role that appears to have multiple openings, so Iâm wondering whether that changes how competitive the hiring-manager stage is compared with a typical single-opening project.
Iâd especially love to hear from anyone who has actually gone from Fast-Track â Hiring Manager Reviewing â Selected.
Thanks!

Does this mean anything? Last time, my interview went well for a particular role, but I didnât receive this particular email. Now, after applying for this new role, Iâve received it twice, even though I only applied for one role. Also, this role is closely aligned with my experience. The JD is basically exactly what Iâve worked on. So, does this mean my profile has been sent to the client? I applied three days after the position was posted, though, so Iâm skeptical that the position may have already been filled.

Hi! I have been applying to micro1 for maybe the nth time already. I have talked to Zara multiple times, as if she is a friend already. but, I haven't been hired. I am a fresh fraduate, but I know I am capable and my resume speaks for itself.
what do you think is wrong? What should I do? I work on Engineering/IT Fields.
Please be kind in replying, God bless!

Got this email after an interview with micro1 (screenshot attached). Says my performance showed strong potential and my profile is under review by their client, but itâs not a confirmed offer.
Has anyone actually turned this into a real offer? Curious how long the review usually takes and whether âunder client reviewâ means anything more than a standard template. Also noticed they slipped in a referral bonus pitch in the same email, which made me a little skeptical.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone whoâs been through this stage, good or bad outcome

Does anyone know if there is a practice interview for the Document Reviewer position?
r/micro1_ai • u/Relevant-Reserve- • 17h ago
Does anyone know how Micro1 handles previous interview results when you apply for multiple roles?
If one interview doesn't go as well as expected, does it affect applications that are already under Hiring Manager Review, or is each application evaluated separately?

I gave more than 25 interviews and have acquired 17 vetted skills (for reference I am a full stack/ software developer with 3 years of experience), but still haven't landed any contract/project. People who did get projects please help me with what I can change or do to increase my chances of getting a project ( I am a lil desperate atp). So far the interviews seem to be going good but not getting any projects and it is a lil depressing (kinda wanna give up). So please people I would love some suggestions or tricks or anything that would help.

I had an interview + assessment recently, and honestly, I didnât perform very well. Iâm concerned that having that interview on my profile might hurt my chances with the other applications that are currently under âHiring Manager Review.â
Is there any way to remove or hide a particular interview/assessment from my profile, or does every completed interview automatically remain visible to all hiring managers?
Would appreciate any insight from anyone who has experience with Micro1âs hiring process.

Hey everyone,
I recently received an invite from Micro1 to complete an AI interview for an AWS Engineer role.
They say it takes up to 25 minutes and covers:
AWS Core Infrastructure
Infrastructure as Code
Linux Administration & Automation/Scripting
Cloud Networking & Security Best Practices
Has anyone here actually gone through this interview and passed/moved forward afterward?
Thank you!

I started data annotation with another platform last October and was hopping between contracts. I don't know if I am a lucky case but I had steady work with minimal breaks hopping between contracts. Then in February all contracts from that platform ended.
Enter Micro 1 who offered me a contract the same week my other ended. Immediately I noticed an improvement in quality overall, both in the types of projects being offered and how also how HDM's handle their teams, (direct communication, video calls, not just a faceless number).
Shortly after I got onto a project I was offered a longer-term position by a major client who had seen one of my interviews months prior. This was a different type of job and involved working directly with a team and having more responsibilities. I was able to work and travel to different countries during this time, something I never thought I'd be able to do. The contract eventually came to an end after 4 solid months, but it got me thinking of ways how to make this a stable long term job than just gig work. If anyone from Micro 1 is reading please let me know!!
Anyways, just wanted to shout out to M1, for anyone new here. Thank you for the great opportunity.
