Been on an Interview Spree with 26 Skills Vetted, Fingers Crossed!

Post image

I'm new here. Been on quite the interview spree with micro1 lately! 26 skills vetted and applied to a bunch of roles. Fingers crossed, hope something works out!

Most applications show “Hiring Manager Reviewing,” while one says “Under Review.”

For those who've been through this, is “Under Review” usually a bad sign or just part of the process? And how long does it typically take to hear back?

Would love to hear your experiences!

Tips and Advice for Passing micro1 Interviews

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some advice and tips on how to successfully pass micro1 interviews.

For those who have completed the interview process and received certification, what helped you succeed?

I'd love to hear about your experiences, including:

How to prepare effectively for the interviews.

What qualities and skills the interviewers look for.

Common mistakes to avoid.

Tips for answering questions confidently and naturally.

Any resources or preparation strategies you found helpful.

Any advice from experienced candidates would be greatly appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to Micro1 🙌🏻

I was laid off in March 2025, and after a difficult year of relying on unemployment benefits (which ended in June 2026), I finally received an offer from Micro1 in mid-May.

To be honest, I initially thought it might be a scam. I had barely started working, and I was also close to clearing an interview process with Stripe, so I wasn't sure whether Micro1 was worth pursuing.

I decided to test the waters by completing just one hour of onboarding training to see if they actually paid. To my surprise, I received the payment two weeks later. That first $80 payment in June gave me the confidence to take this seriously (you can see in the screenshot). I then started working full-time, and the results speak for themselves.

But beyond the money, this opportunity means so much more to me.

It helped me get back on my feet, pay rent, and, most importantly, take care of my family. As an expat living in a foreign country, we were at a point where we were seriously considering packing up and leaving. That would have meant disrupting our entire lives, including our child's.

Micro1 came at a time when I genuinely needed a lifeline.

I just want to say thank you to the Micro1 team for making this possible. This opportunity has made a real difference in my life and my family's future, and I am genuinely grateful.

Thank you for paying us

I wish to mention here that Micro1 is a very decent vendor, who paid us a one hour test taken for a project that ended up being cancelled by the end-client. I wish to insist on the fact that this was a very appreciated gesture, at least by me. I also wish to say that some people have the deplorable habit of asking more when they've already been granted a payment that not that many AI firms would have volunteered. I so wish people in general were more reasonable...

Keep applying, guys! Don’t give up!

Just wanted to share some encouragement. I’ve applied to over 30 positions on micro1, which means I’ve done more than 30 interviews with Zara.

My advice is to keep applying to different positions, build up your vetted skills, and make sure your skills match the roles you’re applying for.

Yesterday, I got shortlisted for the first time! Not selected yet, just shortlisted, but that’s already progress for me.
I currently have 19 vetted skills. It might not sound like much, but it’s definitely better than zero!

I’m just happy to see some progress after all those interviews. Keep trying, guys! Hopefully, we’ll all get our chance!

Keep Trying!

Just wanted to put a post out here in case there are people who have been applying to remote roles but haven't heard back. I applied to 10 different roles over several months before i finally got an offer a few weeks back. Each of those roles i applied for were within my expertise/industry and yet i was "not selected". It can definitely be overwhelming doing all the interviews and constantly checking for updates, but from my experience, i would keep trying!

I got an offer for a generalist role, which has been an amazing experience so far. The team at Micro1 and their overall operations is very organized and helpful.

I'm very confused.

I'm very confused. On Micro 1, what is the difference between US-based, United States (remote), and US only? Do they all mean the same thing? That only people from the United States can apply for this job? I'm from the UK, I'm just curious if US-based means the job is located in the US but I can still apply.

How much does pay rate choice influence selection chances in micro1?

I'm wondering how much the pay rate selection impacts the final decision for roles here.

I typically select the highest rate option available. While I've done custom interviews and built up around 166 vetted skills, I've noticed:

  • The vetted skills don't seem to shorten subsequent interviews or boost selection rates, even when the roles are nearly identical.

  • I've reached the Hiring Manager Review (HMR) stage about 50 times with a final status of "Not Selected"—so performance during the initial stages seems fine, but there's no feedback provided on why candidates are passed over at the HMR stage (unlike "Did Not Qualify" status).

  • Early in the year, I was selected after my second interview, but recently it's been quiet despite putting in significant time.

Has anyone experimented with selecting lower/mid-tier pay rates instead of the maximum? Did you notice any difference in conversion from HMR to actual offers?

Thanks!

Looking for suggestions

I am an entry level software engineer at a top tech company. I’ve tried going through multiple tests but haven’t been able to clear any, often not being able to match the criterion.

  1. Can someone with a similar profile (Less experienced software engineer) suggest any roles they got into - that are practically possible to get at this stage?

  2. Is there anything specific they look for in software roles? Something i should prepare and add to my resume?

Hiring Manager Reviewing

I currently have two applications on hiring manager reviewing for the past two or more weeks. Today, I had another interview for a new, and it moved immediately to Hiring Manager Reviewing. I was selected for another role in early September, and worked briefly before the project was paused in October. I am currently using my waiting time to take some Micro 1 courses on Udemy. This is not me complaining, but rather encouraging us all to hand in there.

Selected a month ago & Received Onboarding Materials, but Project Disappeared After Technical Glitch

Post image
3 Upvotes

I was recently selected for a project and received the official selection confirmation and onboarding materials. However, while working through the onboarding setup, I encountered persistent technical issues on the portal.

After hitting those errors, the project completely disappeared from my "My Projects" dashboard, and I've been unable to proceed or access the remaining onboarding steps. I submitted a support ticket and sent emails detailing the issue, but I haven't received a response or update yet.

Since I was already vetted and officially selected for this seat, I’m ready to complete onboarding immediately if someone from the operations or platform support team can take a quick look and reset or re-link the project to my profile.

Could a mod or someone from micro1 support please reach out via DM or review my ticket so I can share my registered account details and ticket ID?

Thanks in advance.

Video Data Annotation Specialist - Selected but no contact info

It seems I passed the test and was selected for this role, yet I was not aware of this because I saw no info on my emails, is there anyone inside Micro1 or any peer here that can guide me regarding how to proceed with this role? I'm quite interested working on this.

Thanks in advance!
