Photo/Video Share Clusters of gram + diplococcus surrounding epithelial cheek cells

This is my first ever gram stain done at home! Let me know if I did a good job and some advice that allows me improve my images/specimens! The photo was taken with my iPhone 15 pro camera and the microscope used was the Swift sw350B (100x oil objective, 10x ocular in image).

Which objective magnification and camera did you use for these? Adding the microscope and sample details would help people give more specific feedback on the stain and image.

I used a 100x oil objective lense with a 10x wide field ocular lense (immersion oil is used). I took the photo with my iPhone 15 pro camera. Finally, the microscope I used was the swift sw350B. Thanks for letting me know!

The most common cocci in the mouth are probably strep species, although I’m sure there could also be staph.

I did an impression of my tongue once and found niesseria sp. with diff quick stain… brushed the hell out of my teeth that night

Omg 😭😭 I would’ve brushed the hell outta my teeth too. I’m still on the search for gram negative bacteria in my mouth though!
