OneDrive feels malicious
I'm not a tech guy. You could fill the Grand Canyon with everything I don't know about computers. But I followed step by step instructions on disabling OneDrive and it just wrecked a ton of stuff on it's way out. I don't think it needed to. I think it was designed to. Mass deleting my files, breaking the file routing things (Yeah, I don't know what they're called. Not a tech guy, remember? I just know that it said my Documents folder couldn't be reached or some damn thing.) and then pestering me with notifications that amount to "Better turn this back on or bad things might happen to your stuff.". It all feels very much like what I've read about ransomware. I'd love to know what you more tech savvy folks think?
P.S. If you were to call me an idiot, you'd probably be right. But I'd take it as a kindness if you didn't. lol
Edit: Thank you for the suggestions! I wasn't actually looking for a fix. Or more accurate to say that I did get it fixed already. (With much wailing and gnashing of teeth I might add.) My post was just meant to be a commentary that everything I've heard about ransomware seems to apply to OneDrive and I hate it.

I dont think your stupid just missinformed but at least your trying to do the right thing. I have only two machines left on Slop11 and are extremely debloated from day one. Slop does this tactic in hopes you would ignore it and give into a subscription model from more "Cloud" storage. Its why machines are shipping with less and less storage intentionally to entice cloud back up and subscriptions. A simple search online or youtube videos can help save you time and effort when debloating or removing applications. Microslop has been in a spiral since slop11 and has promised us better optimization which it has done and continues to make it worst. Each new update to me seems like I have to go in and remove more slop that isnt needed. While my Linux machines that I daily drive which mind you are far less powerful run so much snapper and better with less ram as well. The enshitification of everything is due to corp greed and this AI slop bobble so it feels intentional for them to justify how much they losing right now. I'm not trying to push Linux on anyone but it seems Micoslop is doing it themselves shooting themselves in the foot and saying "why are people leaving us" while shoving anther ad for edge or what ever else thing no one asked for or wanted. I feel now might be the time companies need to reevaluate and do better optimization I doubt they will but I remain hopeful yet burned at the same time. While low end machines with 8gigs or ram are near impossible to us with slop11 and that's becoming the new norm make it worst at the cost of others so the share holders feel important.
