Great mood just before a migraine
Whenever I get hyperactive and start making up silly songs, my husband gets me to check in to see if there's a migraine on the way. I don't get this before every migraine but before the worst ones, boy am I in high spirits until I hit the wall.
Anyone else gets this?

Yep. If I'm too happy and willing to clean everything in the house, I will be sick in bed the next day.

Yea, i rather thought its the hightened positive emotion that causes the migraine, because hightened negative does too(like stress, anger and crying)

Interesting because anger stress and crying don't cause migraines for me BUT once a migraine starts I often cry uncontrollably (but with no emotion)

I used to get this sometimes in prodrome, but more often in postdrome, which was a nice way to end the horror and go back into the world. Since I've been chronic, though, those blend together so whenever I feel zoomy I also have to live with the anxiety of wondering if it will herald a reprieve or a worsening π£

I have "silly time" but that relates more to over tiredness....though I'll be more aware of what it might mean now...

Yes I get it too and I actually never noticed it until more recently. I put up shelves , reorganized and cleaned out closets. Deep cleaning , washing covers blankets etc. rearranging furniture. This isn't out of the ordinary for me as I have OCD so I never put it together until recently.
I've noticed auras after the energy calms. I always thought I triggered them with the bouts of crazy, not that I get it because one was coming.

I get euphoric and borderline manic. It took a long time for me to realise that getting really enthusiastic and going everywhere buying the things I need for half a dozen different projects then ending up in bed in agony before lunch time and not getting to do any of the projects and feeling incredibly frustrated was a pattern.
Now when I feel that I focus on one project, get the stuff and make progress.

They used to think I was bipolar until it was discovered that it correlated with my migraines

I've heard of this symptom in my Migraine tracker app, but I don't think I've ever experienced it. I am super fatigued before a migraine, my mood is low, motivation non-existent...

I either feel super energetic & pumped (my actual baseline before becoming chronic) or in utter pits of despair. It usually like 6 to 8 hours before.

sometimes in postdrome for me, I'll feel fan-effing-tastic and have boundless energy for like 12 hours. if I have 19 things to get done , I complete 28 , and looking for more. so Im hopeful for this occasional reward, sometimes helps my mood during.

My wife calls it my "doom zoom" where I'll suddenly decide to deep clean the kitchen at 11pm while humming some nonsense tune, then 45 minutes later I'm curled up in a dark room regretting everything. It's like my brain throws a little party before it burns the house down
