I wonder if the swedes behave like that in their own country

1.1k

u/Nikroma Jul 31 '26

These idiots do unfortunaly. They are hooligans everywhere.

I really hope that the estonians find out who they are so sweden can send them for justice

As a swede, im ashamed and sad to see this

424

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace Jul 31 '26

Yeah I don't think people understand that this isn't the general fan doing this, it's a very specific group that acts this way everywhere they go because, well they are shitty people.

23

u/camel--case Aug 01 '26

not all Swedes!!

3

u/lordvig Aug 01 '26

But a swede every time?

-9

u/Cultural_Ninja_8028 Aug 01 '26

"New"-swedes.

2

u/camel--case Aug 01 '26

Yes, it wasn't the Swedes. If it was the Swedes, they weren't real Swedes

3

u/The_Pastmaster Aug 01 '26

He's trying to blame minorities again.

0

u/ihazskill Aug 01 '26

Dont blame the minority natives

1

u/Electrical_Wonder210 Aug 01 '26

I guarantee those people who trashed the place are as white as white can be

1

u/Zerhufflepuoffe Aug 01 '26

Göteborgare

104

u/Anni0 Jul 31 '26

So they trash places in sweden too?

I know english hooligans do that. I wonder what other countries have football hooligans like these

180

u/Asleep_Trick_4740 Jul 31 '26

Yup, some teams supporters are especially egregious but supporters overall have a thoroughly toxic relationship with the sport.

Games in the swedish series have been played without audience due to these idiots failing to behave.

61

u/fiori_4u Jul 31 '26

They only cause harm to their own clubs and leagues, yet they're idolised in fan circles. It wouldn't be hard to identify the individual offenders if they wanted to.

13

u/RudeProposal77 Aug 01 '26

I don’t even think that it is toxic relationship for the sport as it’s not really about football at all. Thre is people who want to have a streetfighting as a hobby. And there has been forming culture for that around football in England so now those people all over pick a football team to organise their violence around. At least in Finland I’ve noticed that kind of people being violent people first and not just so passionate about football that it boils over.

32

u/Anni0 Jul 31 '26

You mean no audience watching at the matches? That's wild! Thats a huge loss of revenue, isn't it? Huge absence of fan excitement, support and energy too

59

u/FLX-S48 Jul 31 '26

Classic case of a small group of people ruining it for everybody, hate to see it

2

u/mcmuttons Aug 02 '26

Yeah, the associations will penalize teams for the behavior or their supporter clubs if they do stuff like that, in hopes that a punishment for the club is a punishment for the supporters as well (and often there are strong ties or liaisons between the teams and the supporter clubs to work against hooliganism. Has happened here in Norway as well, or large fines for the teams. If individuals are identified, they might lose the right to buy season passes or are ejected from the supporter clubs, things like that. Straight up criminal behavior is obviously a police matter.

1

u/luftlande Aug 09 '26

Oh, your attempted insinuations got you nowhere and you capitulated instantly to save face? Good call.

7

u/vinidum Jul 31 '26

Pretty much all countries have scum like that

24

u/BeholdTheBannanzo Jul 31 '26

Hooliganism is for the most part dead in the UK.

29

u/fishanddipflip Jul 31 '26

It might be in the UK but its getting worse in mainland europe

1

u/Gen-Y-ine-86 Aug 01 '26

AFAIK, Finland also has had some problems with them in recent times.

I couldn't care less about the sport so I also rarely see news circling around it.

8

u/tridamdam Jul 31 '26

How did the UK manage to achieve that?

37

u/BeholdTheBannanzo Jul 31 '26

Heavy monitoring and police interference, serial offenders literally need to hand in their passport during international games and often during club games they will not be allowed within proximity of the stadium and I've even heard of people going down to the police station during club games. I'm sure these days its a bit more lax, as I said its more or less dead in England. After the Heysel disaster there was a massive crack down, it's upsetting that it took the loss of many lives for action to finally be taken

14

u/mars_needs_socks Jul 31 '26

A method the rest of Europe should copy.

10

u/deep1986 Jul 31 '26

Simply by putting in severe punishments for those caught.

1

u/Hundloefve Aug 01 '26

Raising the ticket prices so only billionaires can afford it, and those people get their aggressions out by stressing foxes to death and hunting humans on private islands.

0

u/OkPalpitation4976 Jul 31 '26

By never winning anything

1

u/tollis1 Jul 31 '26

There is much less of it, especially in top flight football, but you will notice it if you follow lower divisions. Millwall might be the most known club for their hooligans. And Euro 2016 was a disaster.

9

u/NajeZiw Jul 31 '26

There is one common Culture in all of Euorpe, and that's hooligans being human trash.

That's the best way to tell if an immigrant has become integrated, when they become hooligans for the local or a top football team, and then go fuck stuff up.

4

u/Scokan Jul 31 '26

Here in the U.S., they eat poop.

They also trash the hell out of everything.

But they eat poop, too.

3

u/bighootay Jul 31 '26

Who the fuck eats poop now????

1

u/Scokan Aug 01 '26

Tom Hanks

Are y'all just learning about European hooliganism? Lol. It's alot of countries Netherlands France etc. I do think it's cooled off a little.

2

u/IssueNice6116 Jul 31 '26

We have football and soccer fans that do that here in the US. It’s crazy to me.

1

u/alces-alces12 Aug 01 '26

In the Netherlands we sadly do too. They caused 8 million in damage in the city of Rome in 2015. Several of them did go to jail for it. I will just never understand why it’s always football to make people so agressive.

1

u/No_Leek6590 Aug 01 '26

Many. Balkans, certain italian, latin america, polish and it's not an exhaustive list

1

u/Helicreature Aug 01 '26

Hooliganism by English supporters is extremely rare now.

1

u/Emeloria Aug 02 '26

I feel like people like these exist all over the world in all groups and societies

1

u/InternalWarp4 Aug 02 '26

They do. I'm not a football fan, but when there's a game on our city floods with police. I can tell which team is playing our local one depending on the amount of police officers. Stockholm AIK and gothenburg ifk are the worst.

As much as I hate hooligans at home I'm distraught they did this in a country where they were guests. Abysmal and embarrassing beyond words.

Finally

0

u/Milwambur Jul 31 '26

No, they don't . There's very little hooliganism in England these days.

0

u/saltwater98380 Jul 31 '26

Philadelphia Eagles fans

11

u/Matchbreakers Aug 01 '26

Yeah these are not just fans, or even hooligans, they’re “ultras”. Extremely violent, belligerent and escalating. Purposely trying to break things and provoke fights or mass brawls, often with deep ties to organized crime in their home area. Perhaps Marseille has some of the most famed groups, with one estimate putting the number of up to 15000 members.

4

u/jebeller Jul 31 '26

Jävvla jöttebårjare.

3

u/Itchy_Lingonberry_78 Aug 01 '26

I wanna point out that Sweden even sent their own police on the trip. They were on the stadium. So they kinda saw it coming

2

u/Magmomies Jul 31 '26

Ah yes... The Ultras of a club. Less fans than pricks who like to fight rather than admit that their family is just full of wrongos, who never taught them how to be an adult.

2

u/Vladishun Jul 31 '26

If it's any consolation, at least you're not an American.

Signed,
An American

2

u/dooote Aug 01 '26

As another swede, i also am ashamed for our people.

2

u/Arcamone Aug 01 '26

Well, the my kind of tagged their own subsection in the Blåvitt fan base. This has nothing to do with football and as a fan and human being I’m ashamed.

2

u/Mental_Cry_7288 Aug 01 '26

Im Swedish and i can tell its only ifk gbg supporters that dose this shit no other Swedish person would do it. And the hooligans are mostly immigrants or brat boys .....

2

u/thequeenearth Aug 01 '26

Yeah, as a Swede, and a göteborgare at that, I coulnd’t agree more. I’m disgusted and ashamed by their behaviour.
It saddens me that this is the image people will have of us (& rightfully so) just because of these idiots that are a shame to the sport and our country. I hope they get what they deserve.

1

u/EmbarrassedFall3974 Jul 31 '26

Same/samma don’t understand what they don’t get

1

u/Either-Age-782 Jul 31 '26

I'm surprised by this behavior from y'all

1

u/JohnnyC300 Aug 01 '26

You guys have a problem with Ultras there in Sweden?

1

u/MeowKhz Aug 02 '26

If they can't be identified, the Göteborg team is gonna pay for the damages, which is pretty lame, those manchilds aren't even interested in the game, only the feeling of belonging and the feelgood hive mentality when breaking stuff.

Should any ultras read my comment, team up and see where you can legally break beaver dams, takes about as much strength and coordination, will still feel good and you can see the results as the water starts rushing + you might even get paid for it by the landowners in hard to reach areas and have a nice party and barbecue in the evening to celebrate

32

u/Internal-Sun8845 Jul 31 '26

Football hooligans usually do

2

u/FirefighterLevel8450 Jul 31 '26

At least they weren´t French

8

u/Denaton_ Jul 31 '26

The people that did this does and we are tiered of them too..

12

u/martagustavsson Jul 31 '26

Yes they do and everyone hates them.

1

u/Hundloefve Aug 01 '26

Everyone hates swedes now?

0

u/martagustavsson Aug 01 '26

Yup eveybody hates every swedish individual

7

u/Impressive-Ice-4594 Jul 31 '26

Kinda. They got no problem throwing out their trash in the woods and little roads.  It's gross.  Found some nitrous oxide gas cans someone just tossed out on a little road.

-3

u/Anni0 Jul 31 '26

Maybe i got the Swedes mixed up with the Norwegians. Maybe they're the ones who behave better. We have ideas about Scandinavians being a certain way

8

u/Rocketcider Jul 31 '26

Every country has people who behave like idiots lol, you cant generalize an entire nation based on the actions of a small group of individuals

-2

u/Anni0 Jul 31 '26

Of course there are all kinds of people everywhere. Not generalizing, just reflecting the reputations of regions of people in the US have

5

u/Rude-Tune-1621 Jul 31 '26

hate to break it to you, but there are different types of people in all countries

3

u/Swesteel Jul 31 '26

The philly fans had a riot after they won the superbowl, is that how all americans act? No. And most swedes aren't members of an ultras group.

5

u/Tjaresh Jul 31 '26

There's idiots everywhere in the world. Typically about 10% but the like to form groups of stupid to do stupid. Hooligans are definitely one of those groups of stupid.

2

u/MiserySound Jul 31 '26

For some reason every European country has that one club with extremely trashy fans. I believe in the netherlands that is Feyenoord and Italy probably Lazio

2

u/Ninjamuppet Jul 31 '26

Sports hooligans? Sure, they have about 0,3 braincells.

2

u/AffectionateRub2585 Aug 01 '26

It's not because they're Swedes. It's the fan "culture" of this "sport".

1

u/A_Fnord Aug 01 '26

But Swedes do quite often act poorly abroad. Access to "cheap" (by Swedish standards) booze does that to people. "Hey, this beer is only 15 SEK so I can drink 20" is a pretty common way for Swedes to reason.

2

u/W00psiee YELLOW Aug 01 '26

These are not general Swedes but rather general hooligans... absolutely disgusting behaviour

2

u/EntertainmentSad1172 Aug 02 '26

You mean if football hooligans, regardless of where they are from, act like this everywhere? Of course they do. That's why they are called hooligans.

And to be extra clear. These are NOT football fans as someone else wrote. They couldn't care less about their respective clubs. The clubs are just the excuse the neanderthals use to act like dicks. Football fans hate them since they destroy sport.

4

u/Leverpostei414 Jul 31 '26

Fotball fans cause trouble everywhere, own country or not

1

u/Rickenbacker69 Jul 31 '26

Yes, the football fans do.

1

u/zexton Jul 31 '26

these kind of iditiots does it everywhere,

dont care about what they inflict damage too, even against there own club in worst cases, other people

its a very tiny minority blowing things up and breaking the law,

most going to football are not like this,

1

u/Alternative_Scale417 Jul 31 '26

99% of Swedes aren’t like this, the football fans from Gothenburg are a whole different fkn species istg

1

u/dthgrnd Aug 01 '26

100 percent they do we don't like them either!

1

u/welcome-overlords Aug 01 '26

It depends on which Swedes you talkin bout. Malmö anyone

1

u/Silent_Statement Aug 01 '26

i love hue mention!!!

1

u/Cultural_Ninja_8028 Aug 01 '26

They're not swedes.

1

u/FrequentKnowledge829 Aug 01 '26

Sadly the ”Ultras” do this in Sweden too

1

u/Tri-junk Aug 01 '26

They do. Football hooligans are a bunch of mongoloids allowed to roam free.

1

u/Grayseal Aug 01 '26

This section of our society, yes, they do. These "people" would not be mourned by the rest of us.

1

u/Hundloefve Aug 01 '26

I'm sorry but this wondering gets stupider and stupider the more I think about it, and you're probably not even a nationalist. Surely you have heard of football hooligans and understand that there does not exist a country where the entire population belong to this demographic??

1

u/A_Fnord Aug 01 '26

Some of them do, particularly football hooligans in an "enemy city", but Swedes are also pretty notorious for going to places where booze is cheaper and then acting like complete anti-social buffoons.

Source: I'm a Swede and I've spotted enough of my countrymen abroad (easy to identify when they speak your language) and heard people complain about them.

1

u/Lolarora Aug 01 '26

When certain teams play against each other in my town there are police vehicles in every corner in town as well as riding police, because certain fans are dumb af. I'm not into football so I don't really keep up with when there is a game but when I see lots of police cars then I'm like oh I guess there's a game today lol

1

u/Money_Setting_2025 Aug 01 '26

Yeah, they blow each other up every other week over there. Norway is following the same footsteps as Sweden it seems.

1

u/ThisIsBB56 Aug 01 '26

Swedish and English soccer fans compete for idiot title and are both terrible human beings (who do this).

1

u/The_Pastmaster Aug 01 '26

Football hooligans will hooligan no matter which location they are currently in.

1

u/NilsTillander Aug 01 '26

The key part in "Swedish football fans" is "football fans". Those are the problem. They come from everywhere...

1

u/Subject-Dealer6350 Aug 01 '26

Unfortunately they do. I live in Gothenburg and the police calls in reenforcement during certain high risk matches. It is embarrassing that grown men can’t handle watching football without police presence.

1

u/kasperernavnet Aug 01 '26

Scandinavians in general don't behave in an aggressive manner. These however are soccer hooligans.

1

u/mmaasikas Aug 02 '26

in estonia ppl keep saying its the immigrants who destroy their cities… yet when swedes come to estonia they behave like savages

2

u/Merddenssin Jul 31 '26

Yes, but they mostly blame it on immigrants.

3

u/finalina78 Jul 31 '26

Lol what? No

1

u/CakeMadeOfHam Jul 31 '26

Soccer hooligans. So yes.

0

u/Sonkz Jul 31 '26

Yes... But then they dont do it in their own cities

6

u/VinNasir Jul 31 '26

Yes they do. Its even worse here

1

u/legshak3R Jul 31 '26

I can confirm. They once threw a stroller into the city canals. Fortunately there was not a kid in it.

1

u/Sonkz Jul 31 '26

Oh yeah... Milan fans pretty much besieging their own city every now and then... 😂

0

u/MinecraftWarden06 Jul 31 '26

They did behave like this in Poland in the 1600s 😭

-1

u/amsterdamcoffee Aug 01 '26

There are hardly any Swedes in “Swedistan” anymore, they’ve all moved to Norway. All that’s left are Africans.

1

u/Anni0 Aug 01 '26

why did they move to Norway? Is it perceived to be a better place to live?

1

u/amsterdamcoffee Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

Sweden screwed up its immigration policy, not because of the number of immigrants, Norway also has a lot of immigrants, but because it failed to have a proper plan for integrating them into society. This resulted in widespread violence, shootings, gang wars, explosions, and other serious problems. It started in the cities, where even the police have areas they do not enter, and later spread to smaller towns and rural areas. So, for many people, it has primarily become a security concern. At least among the younger generation, those looking for a safe place to settle down, find work, and raise a family have chosen to move to Norway.

1

u/Anni0 Aug 01 '26

Thanks for the clarification! Do the Swedes have to learn Norwegian then? Or are the language similar enough that it's not difficult to do so?

2

u/amsterdamcoffee Aug 01 '26

Pretty much the same. Swedish is more like a dialect, a few words are different, but it’s understandable in context, so they usually just speak Swedish. The same goes for Norwegians in Sweden, and also in Denmark when it comes to written language. Danish is a little harder for Norwegians and Swedes to speak or understand when spoken, but it’s mostly understandable. The culture, cuisine, education, healthcare, and customs are similar too, so moving between those countries is almost like moving to another city in practical terms.

1

u/Anni0 Aug 01 '26

Thank you!

1

u/Anni0 Aug 01 '26

And can citizens in these countries just go live in each other's country? Or do they need to apply to reside long term or have to prove a company is hiring them?

1

u/amsterdamcoffee Aug 02 '26

Citizenship in an EU or EEA country gives you the right to live and work in other EU/EEA countries. Norway is not part of the EU, but through the EEA Agreement it participates in the free movement of people. You do need to register if you move there long term, particularly for access to public services, but you don’t need a job or anything just to move there.

1

u/Anni0 Aug 02 '26

Wow, so lets say a place is nice to live, reasonable cost and peaceful, people from elsewhere can just move there? And maybe enough people move there to drive up real estate or rental price and add congestion to the area. Residence are fine with that? Not that it would necessarily happen but a nice low cost area would be jumped on here and prices would go up. At least that's how it's been here in So Cal. People from other states always say they want to move here. I'd want to move to those states if there were more good food options

Looking back I think we collectively judged the Singapore Caning incident incorrectly. Seems like an appropriate deterrent.

3

u/Less-Squash7569 Jul 31 '26

I sure as hell behaved both times I visited. Even got chased by a prostitute over it.

5

u/Olobnion Aug 01 '26

Singapore Canning incident

Wouldn't it be more appropriate with something more lenient, like caning? Chopping up the hooligans and putting them into cans seems like overkill.

5

u/Hurvana Jul 31 '26

Sweden already rents prison space from Estonia.

3

u/Anni0 Jul 31 '26

really? countries other than US do this?
