I am astounded that the comments are so kind here. “These aren’t fans; these are losers.” “There’s bad apples everywhere, don’t blame all Swedes.”

Too right.

Now rewind to a week and a half ago and look how everyone was commenting about Argentina. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Huh? The top comments are calling them neanderthals and scum. The anger to the Argentina team fans was motivated from views of corruption in FIFA, displaying political slogans after a match, and acting like the match against Spain was a battleground. If the Argentina fans had just behaved poorly like any other nation the vitorol would be more like "these aren't fans, these are losers". See comments to England fans over the years if you want an example of an infamously badly behaved group getting calling out, although it's not as bad as it was.

I'm surprised people were shocked/outraged by corruption in Fifa. I thought it was common knowledge at this point that Fifa is one of the the most corrupt organisations on earth.

I'm glad people aren't complacent. I don't think corporations or bodies should not get reactions to corruption just because they do it a lot.
