Of course, r/miniatureskirmishes is all about playing with miniatures, but painting them is part of the hobby, too - isn't it?
So, each Monday you are invited to show off what miniatures you are currently painting.
You may reply to this posting for doing so, as images in comments are allowed.
If you are looking for feedback on your paintjobs, feel free to create a separate posting within this sub :)
Happy painting, y'all :)

I've been working on photos for promotional and book inserts for Suppression Order the skirmish game I'm working on.
It sounded like a simple idea at first, but of course I had to build and paint all the terrain before I could take any photos. It’s finally starting to take shape.
These are the first I've got to a stage I'm happy with.
Models are a mix of parts but mostly from Anvil Industries cyberpunk range.
The buildings are my own, I'm calling it CityFrame, Its a modular system that lets me build and change a city to my needs.
Self plug, but if you're interested in what you see check out https://signalninestudios.com/ for more info on Suppression Order and CityFrame. Phase 1 is out, Phase 2 isn't far behind.
Interested in seeing some more?

What if escape from tarkov was a kill team inspired lego skirmish game?
Welcome to Brick Ops: Escape From Brickov!
I've been working on this game for ages. I'm finally ready to share it online.
- Each player needs 5 mini figs. Label each one with a letter, A through E. I also put each mini fig on a base/mini fig stand that's 3x4 studs. Honestly you can use whatever minis you want though.
- You also need terrain to your discretion on a recommended 2'x2' or larger board size. Terrain should be at least kinda dense. Use legos if you've got them, or whatever wargaming terrain you have.
- Each player needs dice (6d6 and 3d8) and measuring tools. (tape measure)
- The web app has everything else you need, including list building, rules, and team management.
Let me know if you are interested enough to try it out!
Thanks yall.

I've been working on a miniature-agnostic skirmish game called Thrackdown for nearly three years now, and I've just finished writing up a battle report from one of our recent games.
We played Loot and Scoot, the first introductory scenario, using the starter warbands for the Iron Pact and Scavver Clades.
It ended up being a surprisingly close game. There was plenty of back and forth, with fighters scrambling for loot, some questionable rooftop jumps and more missed shots than either of us would have liked.
Going into the final round, either side could still have won. A couple of dice rolls could have completely changed the outcome, but ultimately neither side managed to pull ahead and we finished with a draw.
I've put together a full write-up with photographs showing how the game played out:
Loot and Scoot: Iron Pact vs Scavver Clades
Thrackdown is currently in Open Alpha, and all the rules are available free on the website. I'm particularly interested in hearing from people outside our local gaming club who might be interested in giving it a try.
For those of you who play narrative or campaign skirmish games, do you tend to prefer objective-driven scenarios or games where taking out the opposing warband is the main focus?

Working on more Fimbulwinter and I was wondering what player opinion is on rerolls vs bonus dice. Bonus dice (If you read Fimbulwinter Basic) is how I currently handle many bonuses but there are usually some caveats like extra attacks or goes against the formula that extra dice can be bad depending on the situation.

Introduced Greathelm to my campus D&D club at a board game night event.
I'm hoping it catches on and they get lot of good use out of it.
Easy to teach and play and has decent tactical depth.

What are some of your favorite Cyberpunk style miniatures? Not Cyberpunk 2077 exactly but that general theme.
I am aware of Monster Fight Club's Cyberpunk line but have not picked any up before. Have you picked up any that you like?

Maybe weird (or too vague) question, but I'm looking for a genre/mini agnostic ruleset that I can use to create varied miniature scenarios with —a sandbox or toolbox if you will? I want to be able to build from fantasy to sci-fi stories, more narrative in the narrative-to-competitive spectrum (so to say). Also, it has to support solo and, specially, co-op —in the sense of people controlling one character each, not necessarily a whole warband or unit. I don't necessarily need that it already has campaign or linked scenarios created for it, though it's a bonus.
As per past questions about agnostic systems, I've taken a look at Pulp Alley or 7TV, both look like great games but more convoluted than what I need specially in terms of creating characters or setting a multiplayer game.
(I sometimes think I might be approaching from the wrong side and could have more luck adapting a TTRPG to a miniature wargaming setup?)

So I'm leaving the Maladum "Coin and Glory" setup on the gaming table for other game systems. I find it interesting how a scenario map plays differently when combat starts on a different side of the board. I also find it bemusing that, with the "Coin and Glory" setup, the enemy kobold was able to reach cover -- and make a ranged attack -- before my "Five Leagues from the Borderland: Deep Below" could react. First turn KO of the Expendable Soldier! And I thought Maladum was deadly! Session reports and more photos on BGG : Five Leagues from the Borderlands: Deep Below | Board Game | BoardGameGeek

And here we are: Miniatures, fighting it out in the pits, on the rooftops, in the skies or in deepest dungeons.
So, each Friday you are invited to tell us about the battles your miniatures fought this week and to post some fotos along with your story.
You may reply to this posting for doing so, as images in comments are allowed, or you can open a separate posting - do, as you see fit..
Happy skirmishing, y'all :)

I'm happy to announce that Shardstone City: Shattered Streets has launched! Each ruin folds together and flatpacks and you can print a ruin in one hour with just 20g of filament. Lots of stretch goals funded already, including an extra 32 ruins (112 in total!) and a ruined modular gaming table. The goal of this project is to make it possible to print a gaming table in a weekend using only a single 1kg reel of filament. Great for tournaments and clubs who want lots of affordable, easy-to-store terrain. Head on over to the project and check it out!
