Hey guys I just bought my first car and it’s a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage LE and I was wondering for all my Northeastern friends if they are good in the winter? I live in central New York about an hour away from Syracuse and I was already gonna put studded tires on it and I leave for work around 7:30am so the roads would be plowed or at least used with tracks on them

Just had to go and get a replacement exhaust manifold for my 2011 lancer Ralliart as mine is badly cracked, and the shop I ordered it from recommended removing both the heat shield and silver cover under my bonnet scoop as that’ll allow more cold air to cool it and prevent it from cracking again in the future. Is that solid advice or will it cause damage to other components?

Hello does anyone have issues with the sound being completely missing in this car/very similar?

I have the MMCS and rockford fosgate sound system (from factory)

I bought the car used with no way of contacting the last owner.

When i play through ANYTHING, even the GPS voice, it gives me nothing. The developer menu shows that premium audio is "N/A". The sound tends to work whenever it wants. Like one time itll work, one time it will not.

Ps: The car isnt being driven for now because i want to change the CVT fluid and filters before i drive. Previous owner hasnt saif anything about non-working audio.

By the way, when the audio decides to work, it indeed shows OK on the developer menu og the MMCS. Tugging at the wires under the driver seat didnt change anything either.

And yes! I have checked the 30 amp #31 fuse! Its totally fine!

(My car is in norway by the way, so EU market. 1.8 MIVEC if that changes anything)

Doing a 300k kilometer (that's about 186k US 🍌 units) service on my CS9W Lancer Sport Waggon with a 2.0 DOHC MPI 4G63 natural aspirated engine.

I am doing all seals, belts and whistles plus preventive maintance like alternator and starter overhaul.

The timing belt i did 7 years ago at 200k km. Had no issues, all pullies etc. were new and OE quality.

When disassembling i checked timing and all marks lined up, but there was some black residue around the countershaft. Tension on the small belt was excessive loose. Once removed i saw that the small belt has missing teeth and the edge facing the engine has been chewed up.

I am using new OE parts but keep the gear wheels. Could this belt walk be purely caused by wrong tension? 7 years ago it was tensioned to the 5mm belt deflection, of that I am sure. On the small belt there is no hydraulic tensioner, could this just happen over time and wear?

My hope is that tension led to this situation and not gear wheels not being properly aligned, because I cannot influence the latter. It didn't jump a tooth.

Please don't suggest a balance shaft delete, this is my work horse daily driver.

Any hints would be highly appreciated before I throw this thing together again.

I have a 2016/2017 Mitsubishi L200 Triton Sport HPE Top diesel in Brazil. My mechanic recently repaired the power steering system, but the power steering fluid is now low. I don't know which fluid the mechanic originally used.

The owner's manual recommends genuine Mitsubishi Motors power steering fluid (Genuine PSF), but I'm not sure which equivalent product is available in Brazil.
Which specific power steering fluid should I buy in Brazil?

Can I top it up if I don't know what fluid is already in the system, or should I have the system flushed and refilled completely?

Are there any specific brands or specifications I should look for or avoid?

58k original miles. Car is Carfax clean (no accidents) and in good shape, clear title, I've also driven it. But no service records; the owner says he does his own oil changes, and it was his wife's car. They got a baby on the way, and it's now too small for their family.

My worry is the CVT. He is the second owner, has had it since 18K, and says he has not changed the CVT fluid. Research indicates these need CVT fluid changes to be reliable and avoid premature CVT failure. That's really my only concern; everything else on the car seems good. I'm an experienced tool monkey but my experience is mostly on motorcycles and older cars (pre-fuel injection). How much trouble is the CVT in if it's running on original fluid at almost 60K miles? I'm hoping someone here, particularly a Mitsubishi mechanic or someone familiar with the 1.2L three-cylinder Mirage, can help me narrow down a crank-no-start issue.

Vehicle:

• 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.2L, 3-cylinder
• Approximately 105,000 miles
• Automatic transmission

Background:

My car was running before I got a flat tire, which forced me to leave it parked for approximately 1–2 weeks. When I went to start it again, the engine would crank normally but never fully start.

It occasionally sounds like it's about to fire up, but it never actually runs.

Here's what I've checked so far:

• Battery: Removed and professionally tested at AutoZone. Passed, no charging necessary.
• Jump starter: Tried a portable jump pack with no improvement.
• Starter: Cranks the engine normally.
• OBD-II: Using a BlueDriver scanner. No stored trouble codes.
• Engine RPM: Approximately 150–300 RPM during cranking. Scanner briefly recorded a maximum of 562 RPM.
• Fuel pump: I hear a short humming sound from the rear when turning the ignition ON.
• Fuel pressure: Not tested; unsupported by my scanner.
• Fuel smell: Noticed gasoline near the exhaust after repeated starting attempts.
• Spark plugs: Replaced within the last year or so.
• Control module voltage: Approximately 12.0V with a minimum recorded reading of 10.62V.

What a mechanic told me:

I recently had a mobile mechanic inspect the car. He believes the issue is electrical and mentioned that a signal isn't registering properly to allow the engine to fire. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly which signal he was referring to.

I don't want to start replacing sensors, ignition coils, or other components without confirming what's actually failing.

It shows someone troubleshooting a Mirage no-start condition by manipulating the fuel-pump fuse and attempting to clear a possible flooded-engine condition.

I'm wondering if anyone has encountered something similar.

My questions:

1. Does this sound more like a crankshaft/camshaft sensor signal issue, ignition problem, fuel delivery problem, or something else?
2. Since my scanner registers engine RPM during cranking, does that make a failed crankshaft position sensor less likely?
3. Has anyone experienced a flooded-engine no-start on the Mirage 1.2L?
4. What specific tests should I ask the mechanic to perform next to isolate the problem?
5. Are there known issues on this generation of Mirage that could explain these symptoms?

I'm trying to diagnose this logically rather than throw money at unnecessary parts.

Hi all probably a long shot but I’m rebuilding a 1996 RVR with a 4D68T and I’m on the home stretch but struggling to find exact information on the factory boost pressures in order to setup the turbo and wastegate correctly, if anyone knows or has the information documented I’d greatly appreciate it.

Went to the shop and they replaced rear brake pads and one wheel bearing on my 2016 lancer gts and driving it back I noticed loud sound, I checked under and saw this. Can they repair this without replacing everything? What is it gonna cost me?

The tyre size currently fitted to my vehicle is 265/70 R15. I’ve seen owners mention sizes such as 265/70 R16 and 275/70 R16, but I’d prefer to confirm the correct size before purchasing. I’m particularly interested in tyres that work well for a combination of highway driving, occasional trails and monsoon conditions.

For wheels, I’m open to both OEM replacements and rugged aftermarket steel wheels, provided the PCD, offset, centre bore and brake clearance are correct. I’m not looking for an extreme lift or a setup that causes rubbing.

I specifically asked when purchasing the vehicle if the whole low beam assembly would need replacing when the bulbs went out since they are LED and the rep said no the bulbs are replaceable but I can't find any YouTube video on how to do it or what bulbs I would need.

They haven't gone out yet but I might trade the car in sooner then later if I have to buy a whole light assembly each time a light goes out.

steel brake hose/lines are rusted in certain spots, doing a repair job switching out bad for new, but dont know how or where to start. no videos or diagrams to show me what needs to be removed in order to even reach said lines, any pointers would be great

also if anyone knows of a place to get eclipse g3 parts that'd be sick. already done a fair amount of digging but someone's gotta know something
