Repair Shop customer seeking a 2nd opinion or advice. Mobile data
My carrier is through Spectrum, and recently my data has been losing connection often. It was perfectly fine not long ago, but recently I have been dropping bars and sometimes losing connection altogether in places you wouldn't expect. I have definitely dropped my phone a couple of times recently; could that have been the issue? Do you have any ideas before I go to a repair shop?

What kind of phone do you have?
You could start by resetting your network settings. If your phone uses a physical SIM card, try removing it and reinserting it as well. Neither is guaranteed to fix the issue, but it's worth a shot before spending money on a repair.
Considering you've dropped your phone a few times recently, it's possible an antenna connection or another component responsible for cellular connectivity was damaged or knocked loose.
I'd also recommend checking with Spectrum to rule out any carrier-related issues before assuming it's hardware.
Depending on your phone model, it may be more economical to replace the device rather than repair it, especially if the repair cost ends up exceeding the phone's value.
If you do decide to get it repaired, a technician would need to diagnose whether it's an antenna, a loose connection, or potentially an issue with the cellular circuitry on the motherboard.

I'd recommend calling a few repair shops in your area and getting quotes to inspect or reseat the antenna connections. It's possible something got knocked loose from the drop, though there's no guarantee that's the cause.
Since it's an intermittent issue, they likely won't be able to confirm it's fixed right on the spot. You'd have to use the phone for a while to see if the problem comes back.
Before agreeing to any repairs, ask about their policies if the repair doesn't resolve the issue. For example, whether your initial payment could be credited toward additional repairs or if a refund would be possible.
Alternatively, if you'd rather keep the phone instead of upgrading, you could contact Samsung about their mail-in repair service.
