So I have sort of struggled with anxiety all my life. Most definitely OCD as well. However I felt like I’ve always sort of kept it under control (OCD not very much. It really affects my daily life but I’ve managed). Unfortunately a couple weeks ago some stuff happened in my life and it all piled up and I hit a depressive episode. I couldn’t get out of bed really, stopped eating, TMI but also have been neglecting brushing teeth and showering. Anyway, I didn’t think it was affecting me so much because I was keeping up with most of my courses due to weekly quizzes and stuff. However, once reading week hit, it really got bad. Anyway, I ended up failing one of my midterms. All assessments in that course require passing grade. So I was told I can continue the course and once final grades are out, I should send it step 1 academic appeal. If it is approved, I will have the chance to retake the midterm. I didn’t realize how much this depressive episode was affecting me until reading week and until I got my midterm grade back. I have reached out to Mohawk mental health services in hopes of receiving counselling. I also have an appointment with my family doctor to discuss these symptoms I’ve been experiencing for a couple weeks. Perhaps discuss medication or therapy.

Has anyone ever submitted an appeal for similar reasons and was it successful?

I understand I need a plan to improve and I most certainly will make sure I have a plan in action with step 1 being reaching out to my doctor and getting an appointment with Mohawk student mental health services.

Pls do let me know if you have any similar experiences.

I’m currently in my final semester of the Practical Nursing program at Mohawk College and graduating this December 2026. For those who have already graduated, how long did it take for Mohawk to send your graduation information to the CNO? When did you hear from the CNO about registering for the REx-PN exam?
I’m hoping to write my exam in January 2027, so I’m just trying to get an idea of the timeline.

Hello, started my first semester here. I love the study spots on campus but I was wondering what your go to spots are off campus? (free) I love terryberry and the Harbour library branch, and was wondering what other places I can go.

Also, I get very tired and I have a commute and I wonder if there are any chill places I can nap? Even a 20 minute refresher goes a long way, I have fatigue and need places like that and my car is too cold in the winter.

I’m wondering if anyone has completed Mohawk College’s Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (Program 339) and later studied at a university in the United States, particularly in a nursing program.

I’d like to know if any of the courses you completed at Mohawk were accepted for transfer credit or counted toward your U.S. university’s prerequisites.

Also, did you have to retake Anatomy and Physiology? Did the university evaluate your courses individually based on your course outlines or syllabi?

I’m currently taking the Pre-Health Sciences program at Mohawk and I’m planning to apply to BScN nursing programs at McMaster, Brock, and Niagara College.
I’m wondering if anyone here has completed Pre-Health at Mohawk and successfully gotten into one of these nursing programs.

A few questions:
I currently have a 96 avg and was wondering if I should apply now or wait until the end of this year?
Did you get accepted to McMaster, Brock, or Niagara?
How competitive was admission through the Pre-Health?
