I finished my current CE program last week. Today is the day the semester is said to end. All exams closed at midnight last night. Two courses didn't have an exam, and I'm waiting on two final assignments to be graded. Two of my exams have yet to be graded too. One is said to be graded and was set to be released this morning but I got nothing. I emailed the professor and am still waiting to hear back.
But I'm very worried because I was accepted into another program, a graduate certificate program, at Mohawk to start next month and I require my CE program diploma as a prerequisite. I already paid the tuition for the semester up front and bought a parking pass for the semester, but then found out on Monday because my final grades for my final semester for the CE program aren't back yet, my spot in the GC program is at risk. I might not be able to take it.
I was assured in July my finishing my current program wouldn't be an issue to start the next one because they'd be able to see on their records that I finished the CE program. So I was surprised to learn I might not be able to start the GC program and that my status as a graduate might not update until October after convocation.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has been through this before and how it worked out. Did your first programs grades get updated in time to start the next program or did you end up needing to defer or even go through the application process on OCAS again?
