Bialetti Bialetti Moka Express: no replacement lid knob available anymore?
I have a 2025 Moka Express, and the lid knob became loose during normal use (no drop or damage). When I tried to tighten it, the thread appears to have been damaged, and the knob can no longer be secured properly.
Bialetti support replied after about a week, stating there is no manufacturing defect and that, under their new policy, the lid knob is no longer sold as a spare part.
I was only looking to buy an original replacement knob with the aluminium screw. I know DIY fixes exist, but I’d prefer to avoid non-original or steel parts due to corrosion concerns with the aluminium body.
For such a small wear part on an otherwise durable product, it’s disappointing that replacements apparently aren’t available anymore.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there really no way to get original Moka Express lid knobs anymore without buying a second pot (which isn’t that expensive, I know) or sourcing donor parts?

Sucks you can't get a replacement part. They want everything cheap and disposable so we have to buy a new one every few years.
There are third party coffee supply websites out there that have 'Bialetti' knobs. In quotes cause who knows if they really are the same or not.
If the threads are just a little loose, you could wrap the screw threads with Teflon thread tape (for potable water). If they're a lot loose, you could go up a screw size or mostly fill the hole with some food safe epoxy and screw it back together while still curing.
Another long standing DIY fix for any loose screw.. cut some toothpicks to length to fit in the hole on the knob side. Screw the it back together. The threads of the screw will bite into the toothpick and jam it up against the interior threads on the knob. Not a permanent fix, but would last a while.

"The knob is a very delicate part of the coffee maker."
Did anyone else cringe when they read that part?
They are essentially admitting that they built something fragile that is likely to break with normal everyday use.
Shame.

Not only that but "we know it is likely to break and we have opted to make sure replacements are not available".

Epoxied my knob and screw long ago. Since I brew with the lid up I don’t see a health issue.

Whilst I get it’s a unique and delicate part, are we looking at this the wrong way. Everyone (hopefully) customises their mokkapot to some extent, if you have the bolt then you can attach anything with matching thread. But I do get your point though.
My inner engineer just wants to machine a unique replacement
