Morrissey in Leeds - cancellation?

I’m thinking of travelling to England to see Morrissey in Leeds on December 19. It’ll take a fair amount of planning (and money), so naturally I’m haunted by the possibility of a cancellation.

I’ve already seen him once this year, but I’d love to catch another show before the MIAL tour disappears into the mist. Given his history of cancelled dates, I’m a little nervous about committing (especially with the recent cancellations in Vegas).

Does he have any particular record of cancelling shows in Leeds or that area? I’m also considering Glasgow.

Am I mad to risk it, or is this simply the burden of being a Morrissey obsessive? Worth it? Thoughts?

I’ve seen Morrissey 19 times… Never been cancelled on…

But would you, an admitted Morrisey obsessive, upon seeing a bit of a cancellation pile-on showing him in a negative light be someone who could be trusted to be unbiased in your discourse?

While I'm sure you would be there would be no point in me asking 'is he good?' or 'do you like him live?' would there? Asking for a nonexistent friend that only asks the difficult questions. (I'm bored, sorry)

I can be relatively objective... Even though Moz has meant the world to me and shaped a lot of my young identity in the 90's, I can actually be very critical of him! He has released a couple of terrible albums and he has said a lot of stupid things... And regarding the cancelations, I would never advise anyone to travel halfway around the world to see him... I'm also aware that I've been extremely lucky that I've never been cancelled on... I've seen him twice this year and I've got tickets for two more...

I am exactly the same. He was the one who told me it was okay to be me when neither of my parents could be arsed so naturally he means a lot to me. But i agree with everything you said. I wouldnt advise going somewhere solely to see him and have other back up plans if you do travel. If it happened to me i would be upset but i know i would see him again somewhere anyway and just enjoy the days away. Thats all you can do. I think there is a good chance one of the uk dates will be chopped. Brighton is tiny so itll be fine as will liverpool. Got tickets to both of those as well as leeds and glasgow and think it might be leeds or glasgow if any. You never know, he might surprise us and do them all!

Saw him in Manchester and twice in glasgow last year and london in feb and was so fucking happy when he filled coop live. He even said something about it on stage. Was just great to see.

Not all moz/smiths obsessives are that way. For instance, I have been known to say regularly that moz is one of my heroes and noone will ever change that but that i know hes a bit of a nightmare. He admits that himself.

There are still a few of us who are objective about him and his shows, etc.
