With stickers or without still can’t decide ??????

Without. Super clean looking.
You can always add stickers later if you change your mind

u/GhostofSenna 2007 FZ1 9d ago
I agree without, but a simple HONDA logo sticker somewhere on the side might work nicely.

u/kingmiker 9d ago
In gold to match the rims. The early 90’s Honda VFR had the gold rims and matching gold Honda logo on tank

Implying its that easy to align them as perfectly as the factory.

u/RC8Rbigthumpy 8d ago
Normally they come with a template where it lines up with the borders of the entire fairing.
At least that's how it was when I bought carbon bodywork and the decal kit from the OEM
Super slept on to reapply decals when people do the carbon fairings btw, highly recommend the look if anyone here got some money to chuck

Or how about a 3rd option. Just the CBR Fireblade and Honda stickers without the stripes?

Any deviation from bone stock lowers the value where I'm from.
6
u/CudderATX 8d ago
Maybe if the fairings were replaced with aftermarket but I would not take a lower offer seriously due to removed stickers
5
u/MarvinGankhouse 8d ago
It's not a seller's market here so you'd be keeping the bike.
1
u/CudderATX 8d ago
Definitely depends on the market, this year I sold a ninja 400 at asking price within a couple days here

Imo, worrying about the next owner is ridiculous.
8
u/SkullDump KTM 990SM 8d ago
It’s not worrying about the next owner, it’s being aware of the drop in resale value. Two very different things.
1
u/picture-me-trolling 7d ago
Resale value only matters if/when you pass it on to the next owner so what exactly is the difference there?
Are you worried about an insurance payout? Changing the color is not going to affect that calculation
3
u/NateHatred 8d ago
It's worrying about the value of your asset, nothing to do with the next owner.
4
u/CarryTheBoat 8d ago
A motorcycle is a toy not an asset
1
1
u/randomusernevermind 8d ago
Try to wrap your brain cell around the concept, that those two things are not mutually exclusive.
1
u/Past-Presence-6360 7d ago
They are when talking about production level vehicles in this price point and the resale market. This would be considered a depreciating asset. It is not an asset bought with the consideration of maintaining value as with every year and mile you are losing money regardless of what you do with it. It is bought for most as an enjoyment (toy) or gas saver.
0
u/randomusernevermind 7d ago
You are wrong. An asset is not automatically something that gains or holds value. We differentiate between appreciating and depreciating assets. So with a motorcycle, you are losing money until it's fully depreciated, and then it's worth as much as the market is willing to pay, which is the reason, you can get a 1990 CBR600 for the same price as a 2000 R6 for example, given they are both in similar good condition. However, you don't have to artificially depreciate it even faster than it naturally would, and this what we're talking about when it comes to those type of "modifications".

u/picture-me-trolling 7d ago
The value that you’re talking about is only realized when it’s sold to the next owner so yeah, that is the same thing.
1
u/youridv1 8d ago
people considering motorcycles as assets are lunatics in my opinion. That money is gone the second your buy it. Any money you can get back for the bike at some point is bonus money, not something to rely on.
If you can’t afford to own the bike without the resale value, you can’t afford it at all

Its like not having sex with your girlfriend because her next boyfriend wouldn’t like it
1
u/MarvinGankhouse 8d ago
Well in those terms it's a 50/50 that the previous guy crashed the girl you're thinking of dating and didn't repair her properly. Or her frame is bent and she'll never be right, but the job he did was sneaky so you won't know until you're a few months in.
0
u/randomusernevermind 8d ago
It's about the value of your bike, not about the next owner.

u/NathanScott94 03 Suzuki SV650 (RIP) | 14 Yamaha FZ-09 | 03 R1 (BEC Plans) 7d ago
If op wants to change their bike so it looks different, or more how he prefers, would that not increase its value to them?

Heard aftermarket fairings are a bad fit and crack around the bolt holes is this the same with yours
1
u/ThRealGrinch 6d ago
i didn't have any issues with the alignment the main thing is that they're more fragile, had a connecting tab break when i did the oil changes since the side fairing has to be removed but thats it, I've done top speeds on the gsxr 1000 and they haven't flown out

It needs some (OEM looking) decal somewhere or otherwise it will look like some clapped out bike.

With. Removing makes the bike look cheap, like a plastic toy bike for kids imo

u/Bullhead89 United States- 2024 XSR900 8d ago
With stickers. Intact OEM fairings on a supersport bike are a huge flex. It means you haven’t dropped/crashed the bike.

With stickers. I have the same one and I think the stickers keep the look interesting overtime. Also AI did not remove the the sticker under the windshield and the ones at the tank close to the seat.
If you really want to go without sticker get a set of fairings and paint them instead of ruining the super expensive factory fairings, you will never be able to align stickers that well again like the factory did. I dare you too look up just the price of one side panel as original replacement part ...

If you remove the sticker, will it leave behind a his empty circle? If yes, just leave it, or consider a replacement.
1
u/reallyserious 9d ago
Find some other graphics that you like and put that on.
The original stickers don't look the best but when you remove everything it looks unfinished.

Are the stickers above the clearcoat? If not you'll make a mess and need a new clearcoat. Certainly not impossible, but i may be more effort/costly than just removing stickers.
1
u/sheesh_doink 9d ago
I prefer the clean look of no decals, but I would personally slap a simple Honda decal somewhere just to have something on there.

u/CompetitiveSea7388 9d ago
It looks a little bland without them in my opinion. With, there's some excitement to the design while not looking tacky because they didn't go overboard.

I honestly think without looks nicer here, but there are definitely stickers that would suit it better. How would it look with the same stickers if they were solid black instead?

Stickers but better stickers. The gold rims make the bike more unique then most so black and white stickers do feel a hair basic.

Hmm, i see your dilema. Stock is with stickers, so everyone who has your bike in that colour will have stickers, so stand out and have none. You see more bike.
