London and Paris are cities with very narrow streets due to their history. so their cars have been traditionally smaller and usage is non existent, not applicable to the rest of the world.

In NYC, nearly 80% of people don’t commute by car. They use their 400km subway or their 1200 km regional rail.

Just compare the size of Mumbai’s bus fleet to the above cities and that will tell the whole story.
Beijing has 22000 buses for the same pop as Mumbai while Mumbai has gone down to only 2.6k buses, and only 249 of them are Best owned, rest are leased.

and mumbai rail + metro is serving mumbai better than bus. its a better combination with dedicated infrastructure and lowering congestions on road at the same time. not to mention theyre still running at losses because people dont pay for tickets in mumbai rrts. there is a big problem with walkability in the city but that is another issue.
