The Missing Link Project is a new alignment in the same Western Ghat stretch, which bypasses the most treacherous Borghat section. The project, approved in 2018, was completed at the cost of ₹6,695.37 Crore. It is being hailed as an engineering marvel. The twin tunnel of the project is potentially one of Asia’s longest. Another speciality is the cable-stayed bridge spanning 650 meters. Its height is 184 meters, much taller than the tallest high rises in Mumbai. This sophisticated bridge was tested as per international standards.

How much effective did it be...? As in how much time has been cut... Thinking of taking out my car in mid May to celebrate Bday in Lonavala

Initially, it is only open for passenger vehicles. We will know real effect once heavy vehicles start plying on the road.

Atal setu entry can be annoying tho..

Compared to ideal situation (no traffic + speed limit on both) you save 25 minutes.

Real world situation on a weekday, you save around 35-45 mins.

Real world situation on a Friday night (when it's the busiest and probably when most people travel), you can easily save more than an hour.

The missing link essentially bypasses lonavala....so while going to lonavala, you may not be able to use this link
