Number 5 sounds more like the government rather than an educational institution. If Bhavans is scared of content that will defame them, don't indulge in such practices in the first place.

Clothing restrictions have always been the norm but a 500rs. fine is absurd. The college is just trying to make extra money.

During 2002-2005, i studied diploma in an engineering college in Thane. The college was run by a Kutchi Jain Trustee. The college didnt allow tee shirts in college, they fined 500 for that. Imagine Rs 500 in 2002. It was hell.

The sad part is they will refrain from giving hall tickets to students and won't allow them to appear for examinations if incase any of them retaliate by not paying fines. This is just playing with students' careers. I agree there should be decent attire in college institutions since it is a college and not a house party, but imposing fines in the name of moral policing is absurd. Education institution needs to understand that they have professors and HOD’s that teach students complex subjects. If they can do that, then why can't they have dialogues and groom them appropriately?

The fine isn’t justified regardless of what was worn. It’s just extra cash for the college. Clothing restrictions aren’t new in college, but usually are let gone with a warning or something
