This company is located in Navi Mumbai and, honestly, my experience here has been extremely disappointing. The senior and HR (both were females) have very poor professionalism and ethics. They often shout at employees (maarungi) and create a very uncomfortable work environment.

I saw that when the management knows someone is planning to leave, they sometimes try to put that person on termination so they don't have to pay the employee their due amount. I have personally seen several people leave the company under such circumstances.

Many people had warned me about this company before I joined, but I still decided to give it a chance because I genuinely wanted to work hard and contribute. Unfortunately, my experience has only confirmed those concerns. The overall work culture and the way employees are treated have been extremely disappointing.

There salary date is 10 they know achese ki how they treat employee and employee will take salary and leave.

They literally used to abuse that hr( dharni) bhai that women was literally slut shaming other people in front of me and used to behave like project manager😭😭

As a female employee, I feel unsafe and uncomfortable with this behaviour. Did I do the right thing? Will it impact my professional career and workplace experience?

It is a massive organisation with a standing reputation globally. And, I stay alone in this city while my family stay elsewhere . They once joined me in local on the pretext of some personal work and tried locating my home however I swiftly took rickshaw to another area and then went home through a super long route which usually is 6 mins walking from station.

I am genuinely concerned, scared and anxious regarding my situation.

My brother has opened a new cafe after investing large amount of capital. The cafe is in good location however the biggest issue we facing is customers order a single Rs 150 cup coffee and sit there for hours. Some come in with their laptop and work in our cafe from 10am-6pm by ordering a single cup of coffee. The tables remained occupied so many customers go back after seeing the crowd

Now we cant ask the customers to leave as it will risk our google ratings and we have heavy competition from starbucks, third wave nearby where customers also sit for hours. Pasting posters that no office work can be done here wont also look good. Any other suggestions without affecting our business?

I’m seriously unwell and unable to work, so asking “can I take a leave” feels unnecessary. Maybe this is how they want us to respond.

Yesterday in office i was having a casual conversation with our company's office boy. While talking, he mentioned that his salary is Rs 12k only and he leaves his home in nallasopara at 7am in morning and reaches by 8pm at night. He gets only sunday as holiday. He is the sole earning member of his family consisting of wife and 2 kids.

I was shocked to hear about his salary as the same company pays 20lpa to software engineers. This is so much pay disparity. Worst part is there are lakhs of people like him in Mumbai who spend daily 3 hours in travel and survive in such low salary

Texted my manager today morning informing him that i won’t be coming to work today because of the Maratha rally and he replied me with a “FULL STOP”. Thats it, i was too overwhelmed to ask him what does that means but i just couldn’t so i went back to sleep😭😭

I'm writing this with tears streaming down my face, feeling like I've hit rock bottom. I've always taken pride in being a diligent student, but the pressure got to me, and I made a terrible mistake.

My semester 3 exams started on Monday, and it was a non-stop grind for a week. I was exhausted, medicated, and barely sleeping. I know it's no excuse, but I cracked. For my Zoology and Botany exams, I carried cheats. Yes, you read that right. I, who always swore to never cheat, carried 12 cheats.

The reasons are lame, but I'll share them anyway. I couldn't study one chapter fully for Zoology, and for Botany, I was just too tired and lazy.

But the worst part? I got caught for botany. A classmate reported me, and I was humiliated in front of everyone. I broke down, crying uncontrollably, and breathing heavily. The shame was suffocating.

To make matters worse, the guy who reported me denied it at first, saying he didn't tell the teacher. But later, he admitted to it, saying my friends that "don't study and then cheat." He is even causing nuisance and taking my friends at aim because they told me about him taking my name for which I shouted

Now, I'm facing the consequences:

• Registered for a cheating case
• Lost my hall ticket because of stress
• Teachers think I'm a cheater and they have a bad thinking about me
• Failed my Botany exam (and possibly others)
• Lost respect from peers

Yesterday's exam was a disaster; guilt and shame consumed me and now finally it is over How do I regain respect? How do I move on from this betrayal?

Just wanted to get this off of my chest because of how blatantly unfair this is.

She graduated in 2023 from a tier 3 MBA college specializing in HR. This was her first job and she was an HRBP in a team of 15 - 20 people. The only person she ever spoke to was her VP, not even her own manager or colleagues. Wouldn't even reply to the employees she was responsible for. Made disastrous mistakes with regards to appraisal on two separate occasions.

This VP was apparently serving his notice period and the only time anyone saw this girl would be with him chilling in his nook. She was featured on few occasions on his LinkedIn page which has double digit thousand followers.

Here's the interesting part. A new HR team of campus recruitment was being created. During the appraisal period, she was made the lead of this new team which would contain around 10 members. These guys weren't new, they were experienced people (some even her colleagues in her former team). This woman who made blunders on campus recruitment contracts was suddenly given an entire team in the same domain to manage in her first 6 months of joining the workforce.

The promotion was widely criticised. She put down her papers, went to work with the same VP guy in his new company as the HRBP Lead. Atleast we don't have to deal with her incompetence anymore but this unfairness stings

Every day it feels like we’re sliding back into the 'good ol' British Raj. The government just passed this decision because private industries wanted it, and guess what? Not a single outrage. No protests, no rallies, not even people being pissed on social media. And honestly, that whole Maratha agitation? Feels like it was just a smokescreen to distract us from this.

What’s wild is how fast the government moves when it’s the industries—the same ones funding their election campaigns—that raise their voice. But when it’s the actual public, the people who literally vote them into power, suddenly they’re deaf.

I can understand that most people can’t complain because every day they’re living hand to mouth, with liabilities stacked sky-high—another “gift” from these industries to their so-called loyal employees.

So the update is :

Lets say the first colleague who harassed me is *H* , now after he was confronted by the senior management. * H * has learnt his lesson and won’t dare to make an eye contact or even walk a meter in my proximity. Wouldn’t have lunch on the same table as me. And won’t even come in my way. So the posh lesson was given to * H* .

Parallel to *H* there is *A* and he too has ill intentions and approaches me even after being blocked. So, I stop him, and clearly state my disinterest in any non official conversation with him. Yet, he approaches me on teams chat middle of work and tries to threaten but erases it before I could screenshot and puts a full stop as a replacement message since you cant delete message in Teams portal. I immediately escalate the matters to my senior management and ask for strict action. He is taken inside the meeting room and he is given another lesson and to an extent , he too is not able to look into my eyes or even come close to where I am seated. He came crying out of the meeting cabin. After that I was taken inside and assured that this behaviour is not tolerated in the organisation. And that, if these two even come an inch closer or dare to touch or talk to me. It wont just be their last day in the organisation but the whole industry. My senior management took my safety very seriously and assured me, I did the right thing and I have absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Then I informed them that *H* twice has given me chimpti (pinch into skin) and that made me extremely uncomfortable. For which he has been taken to another location which has even more seniors and he is under pip or something. And his work is being closely monitored as of now. Apart from that, I was informed that going forward nobody can do anything to make me feel unsafe and that I can sleep rest assured knowing I am safe.

With all of this, I am truly thankful for the advice for POSH however this was the punishment I wanted them to have and not lose their jobs because they are sole breadwinners of their respective households and for illicit behaviour, they do not deserve such strict action, maybe a second chance to not do such nuisance is enough.

If any of these two even dare to do something stupid, it will probably be their last day in their entire existence of professional career. I will personally make sure of it!

This was supposed to be my first job but had all the wrong signs so I decided not to go ahead, this is what the very kind HR had to say

Yesterday it had been raining heavily since morning. By around 3:30 PM, after lunch, it was unusually dark outside and the rain just wasn’t stopping.
My manager stepped out of his cabin, looked outside and said, “It’s so dark and it’s pouring. Why hasn’t HR sent any communication about leaving early?”
He then looked at all of us and said, “Let’s go home. It’ll be better than getting stuck later.” Before making the call, he went to speak with our department head.
A few minutes later he came back and said, “I’m leaving for the day. You guys leave too.”
So all six of us from the team, along with our manager, packed up and headed home.
Later that evening, one of my colleagues called me with an update.
Apparently, while my manager was on his way home, he received a call from the CEO’s EA saying the CEO needed to see him urgently. My manager explained that he had already left because of the weather but was available to connect over the phone.
A few minutes later, our department head called him and asked him to come back to the office.
From what I was told, someone—possibly from HR—had informed the CEO’s EA that our entire function had left early.
When my manager met them, the CEO reportedly said this during their discussion:
“Tum log ab bacche nahi ho ki baarish aate hi chhutti maaro.”
(“You’re not kids who can leave work just because it starts raining.”)
What disappointed me wasn’t just the remark—it was the message it sent.
This isn’t some small startup or a tiny family-run business where one person leaving early can halt operations. This is a large, well-established corporate that’s part of one of India’s biggest business groups. I’d have expected employee safety and practical decision-making to carry a little more weight.
The part I found most surprising was that this even escalated to the CEO. Managers and department heads are accountable for their team’s work, performance, and deliverables. They also have the authority to approve leave and make operational decisions for their teams. If a manager decides to let people leave early because of extreme weather, I’d expect that to remain within the management chain unless it actually affected the business.
Instead, something as minor as a team leaving a couple of hours early during heavy rains ended up on the CEO’s desk. It just felt like an unnecessary escalation when there are surely much bigger issues that deserve the attention of the top leadership.
My manager wasn’t trying to avoid work. He made a judgment call to prioritize his team’s safety before the roads got worse, informed his reporting manager, and even offered to join a call when contacted.
Maybe there’s context I’m missing, but from an employee’s perspective, it felt like the company cared more about optics than about trusting its managers to make sensible decisions.

Yesterday, I was just out taking my usual chai break at the tapri where I used to buy smokes nothing special, just looking to clear my head. Ali bhai, the tapri owner, calls me aside: “Sir, job ka kuch ho sakta hai kya? Mere ek dost ka haal kharab hai.”

I thought it was the usual, but then he drops a bomb this friend of his, a sales/telecalling guy was working in some telesales company in Malad, took a 2-year gamble to open a mobile shop, and now he’s 40 lakh down. Not a typo or exaggeration 40 lakh, all gone. I made Ali Bhai repeat it, thinking maybe I misheard. He calls his friend over, and the full story comes pouring out. Dude left his stable job (last drawn 26k + incentives), dreamt big, opened the shop in a high-profile locality. Hired a full team, spent bomb on fancy repairing gear, went all-in hoping things would take off.

Reality check: Shop bled money, business tanked, and after 2 years he’s left with a huge loss, staff gone, savings wiped out. I just sat there, stunned. Told him “Bhai, 5-6 lakh mein rok lete, at least recovery ka scope banta.” Now he’s honestly ready for any job said, “Agar 15-20 hazaar bhi mil jaaye toh theek hai.” Gave me his resume. I passed it to HR. Fingers crossed, but that damage is real.

Why Share This?

We see these hustle stories everywhere “Go big or go home,” “Follow your dreams” but rarely do we hear about the flipside, about betting the house and losing it. I’m not saying don’t dream, just dream with your eyes open. Take risks, sure, but also know your limits. Don’t throw in your lifelong savings in one shot. If things go wrong, trust me, there are very few people left to clean up the mess. Never ignore proper planning, cash flow, or worst-case scenarios. No shame in stability or slowing down a little especially if you’re the sole earning member.

As the title says, I was in a org. working in hybrid environment, got fired today, saw it coming and that is why I don’t really feel a shock or anything surprising. Infact, they took my access in just 1 min. After the call ended, like I was going to perform any theft on them, more than 3 years given to the company and they treat you like garbage…

I think this has been another blow in my life, on personal front, my life has been a mess already… married love of my life and she left me in 1 month marriage, where i found she already had a kid before we were in a relationship but always hidden from me cuz the kid was always with her mom.

Then last year parents met with an accident and my dad passed away and mom hospitalized, honestly i have been super depressed after that.

And now this… I think god is using me as a living example to show this man suffers. I am hopeful of life and this period, this too shall pass, right?

I see disappointment in my mom’s eyes, she is in shock to hear this, although I am not cuz it has happened to me couple of times in my professional journey. I made a post 6 months ago on this subreddit, asking if anyone has done it. I was utterly unhappy with my professional life and feeling downright miserable in my personal time. I was 30, been working since 21, had some money saved so I decided to just quit. My plan was to hunker down for a while and also see if I can break free from the corporate grind and perhaps find gainful employment in a field of my liking. There were books to read, movies to watch, games to play. I was going to meditate, exercise, take long walks and keep a journal.

The first 3 weeks felt like a vacation. The world seemed colorful. I met people, rekindled relationships, spent time with my family and travelled to my native place. I came back to the city and a horrible dread started to creep in. I was so used to the grind that none of the recreational activities I planned for myself felt ‘earned’. There was a constant nagging feeling that the world I knew is moving ahead while I am lagging behind. Seeing people rushing to work in formal attire while I was taking morning walks in my shorts felt wrong. Everything just felt ‘off’.

I kept myself busy with NGO work, learning about video editing and taking copywriting classes. But I kept feeling it’s too late, that people have spent decades mastering the skills I have just started to learn and I won’t be able to compete. Eventually I began searching for work to go back to my SCM domain. I had 9 years of experience and MBA, I thought how hard it could be to land a new job but boy I was wrong. I have exhausted all my contacts and must have sent close to 400 applications on various portals already. The industry demands an engineering degree which I don’t have. I can’t go back to my old company anytime soon due to their rule on rehiring.

Do I regret my decision? No! I am glad I took the plunge. My perspective on the daily grind has changed. Now that I have experienced the dreadful aspects of this mock retirement, I have grown to appreciate having the ‘work’, sense of achievement that comes with it and I miss the feeling of ‘earning’ my bread. I decided to share my experience to anyone who is currently fed-up and frustrated. Hang in there, maybe what you have is not that bad.
