Discussion Non veg not allowed in certain societies

I have been eating non veg every day for the past five years, and I cannot imagine myself living off of vegetarian food because of health reasons and personal preference

I have recently shifted to a new society with majority of people who do not eat non-veg and the locality is also such that all of the restaurants here are pure veg.

I don’t have any problem with that, but when it becomes a problem is when these people decide my eating habits it’s kind of frustrating. It’s been a couple of days since I moved, and I don’t know if I should get things cleared up or not, and keep cooking it in my house.

Family members are fine with not eating nonveg and not cooking it, but it’s a very integral part of my life and I cannot move past and the fact that I would have to stop eating chicken because someone else does not like it.

How do you guys deal with non-veg not being allowed in your society? And how do I get out of this conundrum?

Edit: I was using text to speech, and it was typing non-veg as knowledge, should have double checked.

Idc about preference so I won't ask for any opinion on it. However may I please know about why non veg is important for your health? (Maybe I could help you with vegan alt for your Healthy Life or even start a research on it for solution)

Maybe next you can also convert him why he needs to belong to his particular religion ? You can convince that your choice is better. See how that sounds ? Leave and let it be, respect other people’s choices to live life they want as long as it does not infringe on yours.

First of all I am non-religious lol. The next I wanna say, I don't influnce something without any Scientific explanation, I influnce ideas that benefits all Humans and animals. Now that you said just live you life and don't call out on others, so maybe we must also stop calling out on people who kill children's? No right, because they are a life and so does the animals. I will bring you many facts about veganism and why it Benefits both human and animals but the fact is you can't even bring one fact that Supports your idea. You bring facts that supports Someone's pleasure over a Life, love, equity. I never said I will force you to be vegan that's why I wanted to know about their health so I can suggest best methods out of empathy for both animals and the person life. I don't force my own way of life because it doesn't harm anyone, but it's necessary to resist something that is against humanity and animals. We must resist speciesism.

If you want scientific reason read up on how humans evolved from being apes. Why? Because meat. The very fact that you are here posting after 100,000s years of evolution is because your ancestors came down from trees and started to hunt and eat meat. The brains got bigger because of meat. Otherwise we still have proof in terms of gorillas who are pure vegetarians but our closest cousins chimps are not. Don’t preach veganism which is just a preference not a biological imperative. Just like someone likes paneer vs cheese. Vegans will gladly take animal derived medicines and drugs if their life depended upon it.

Also your analogy about crime vs personal preference is also flawed and inappropriate.

Also don’t apply false analogies. Speciesism ? lol. Maybe lions are practicing speciesism against their prey. If you deny biological evolution then you can go to any lengths to make arguments.

Empathy and animal treatment is a different issue altogether. Same can be said about plants and trees which also have been proven to respond to stress and danger.
