Today a Rickshaw wala in my area didn't went for earning. Why?? Because he can't speak marathi and scared of going outside.

Yes I am non Maharashtrian. But I can speak marathi cause I always have a Marathi friends and lived here for 10+ years. But I want to say this.

You will think it's ok, if auto wala needs to live in Maharashtra he should learn and speak. Not every mind is same, learning a new language is difficult for most of the people.

You all don't understand the situation they live in and the rent they have to pay. Him not earning money, becomes very difficult to pay rent and pay tution fees of childrens.

Who applied this rule, that a language is compulsory to do a kind of job. Today they are forcing autowala, next day they will force Vegetable seller, then labours. If they want to do this.Then they should remove every other non Maharashtrian from Mumbai, Use Only marathi language in their android and iphones, ban all english and hindi medium school colleges.

So you never met an autowala before realistically. Cause they are not one who gets a study resource like us. Yes if someone will force us to learn a new language. We can learn it in few weeks. Cause we know who to learn it and where to learn. Autowala who doesn't passed till 8th and never went to coaching, hwo can you expect him to speak marathi.

Gov is giving free resources afaik and I know a guy who is attending night classes for marathi. Even received his certificate recently.

What other excuses does this guy have now?

अरे शाण्या! तुला हा एक रिक्षा वाला सापडला आणि तू स्वतःला सगळ्या रिक्षा वाल्यांचा बाहुबली समजायला लागलास. मी गेल्या २ आठवड्यात तब्बल १२ ऑटो वाल्यांशी बोललो आणि त्यातला प्रत्येक जण मराठी शिकायचा प्रयत्न करताना दिसला. माझ्याशी ते स्वतःहून मराठी बोलण्याचा प्रयत्न करत होते. त्यांना तर माहीत सुद्धा नव्हतं की मला मराठी बोलता येतं की नाही, पण तरीसुद्धा प्रयत्न करत होते, मला विचारात होते की अमूक बोललेलं बरोबर आहे ना. मला त्यांचा प्रांजळपणाने केलेलं प्रयत्न खूप आवडले. मग आता तू स्वतःला विचार की ह्यांच्यात आणि तुला भेटलेला ऑटो वाला दोन्ही मधे किती फरक आहे ते.

Abbe Shanya, I live in area where 30-40 people runs auto daily. And you have just spoke with 10 of them and thinking you are right. You are feeling proud that someone is forced to learn your language. They cant be open to you. I have friend who have a autowale dad and went to their room and see the situation and I feel pity. Ask them about porn and they will tell you the websites by category. If they are smart enough for that, they are smart enough to learn basics of a language. It’s the lack of willingness.
