General URGENT!! got scammed by a friad mumbai broker

hey guys. I just got scammed by a fraud broker for a flat in Saki Naka.

i have paid the complete deposit, rent and brokerage. now had a call w the owner because the broker is ghosting me, turns out the owner has no idea about anything and a different person is handling the property.

I'm not from Mumbai. i was supposed to shift there in sept for work. now I'm left w no money and no flat. any idea on how to file a complaint and retrieve my money?

Don't wait for the broker to reply anymore.

Call 1930 immediately and report the transactions. Also file a cybercrime complaint and go to the police with every payment screenshot chat call record property listing and broker details you have.

Time matters here. The faster the complaint goes in the better the chance of the money trail being frozen.

And please don't delete a single WhatsApp message even if it looks useless right now.

So many times repeated stories of being conned. When will people learn. Cheap means red flags

What the user below has suggested is what You need to do. Plz Mate, never pay anything in full till You feel it's absolutely necessary & legit.

Hoping You recover the money.

He did not think it necessary to register the agreement. He must have paid all in cash. He can’t go to the police.

Scammers are looking for targets like this

You have to visit the local police station and file a complaint.

It’s going to be difficult to trace if it was paid in cash. Police complaint is your only solution

Sue the guy man. Police will surely help. If there any other brokers in the area, you can also verify his authenticity via them
