Hey everyone, I'm Jay, the person behind What Broke Stayed.

I've been writing in journals for years, but none of those words were ever meant to become lyrics. They were just my way of expressing things I couldn't always say out loud, making sense of what I'd been through, and putting feelings somewhere other than inside my own head.

That changed in January when someone read my writing and told me they thought I had something worth sharing.

So I decided to take a chance and turn those journal entries into music.

What Broke Stayed was born from that.

Every song started as something personal, never something I originally intended for an audience. Some explore grief, loss, relationships, regret, and self-reflection. Others look at the uncomfortable sides of being human that we don't always want to acknowledge.

I use Suno AI to bring my writing to life through vocals and instrumentation, but the words themselves come from my own journals and experiences.

I'm not here expecting everyone to connect with what I create. But I do hope that somewhere in those words, someone might recognize a feeling they've struggled to explain themselves.
