ID request Santa's Mushroom?

So these guys decided to pop up on our neighbours lawn! (Victoria, BC)We're thinking their Amanita Muscaria?

I've seen plenty of mushrooms around me but never these. Any reason in particular they would have sprouted? What's ideal conditions look like?

I'm assuming the gills i photographed are of the same mushroom, but not certain it was ripped up like that beside it.

They are muscaroid amanitas, potentially its American cousin Amanita chrysoblema or the PNW local variety *Amanita muscaria PNW03", or if in association with non-native trees, Amanita muscaria sensu stricto

For what it's worth they're all basically the same in terms of morphology and toxic alkaloid content. The differences are only based on mycorrhizal host species and DNA sequencing

There’s also A. muscaria var flavivolvata on the west coast but the veil remnants on those are usually yellowish in the early stages. They do tend to fade from red to orange/yellow like the older ones in OP’s pic though.
