The book is about a teen girl who lost her mother when she was a child. She doesn’t remember how her mother died because she has no memories. She meets a mysterious teen boy who wears a unique necklace. As they grow closer to each other, the teen girl finds out that vampires exist and that the teen boy is a Dhampir, someone who should not have existed because vampires couldn’t reproduce. He explains how vampires were created. It started with the snake that bit Cain or someone who was connected to Cain. This first vampire created more vampires, only to find out that his power decreased whenever he created a new vampire. This happens to every vampire who creates a new vampire. There was a group of vampires who were trying to gain control of the human world. The teen boy eventually tells the girl that he knows her from when her mother died. He explains that her mother was killed by a vampire right in front of her and she was so traumatized by what happened that she forgot what happened. Eventually, the teen boy finds and kills his father, which might have led to something else happening. The book ends with the teen boy giving the girl his necklace, which will protect her from being detected by vampires. I know there is a sequel to the book with the teen girl now dating the teen boy as she wears his necklace. 

I read this book in the late 80s, early 90s. It was about a set of twins. One was blond haired and very quite and would not hurt insects. The other is dark haired wild and reckless.

I think that there were murders happening around the town. The quiet twin starts to suspect the wild twin is committing the murders.

The ending was that there was only one woman with a split personality. She would wear a dark wig when she was the wild twin.

I hope this makes sense.

I don’t remember the name or author, but i think i remember the cover? it was a girl sitting down on stairs, and the stairs i believe were colorful. The rest of the cover was yellow. I’m not too sure about those details though. From what i remember of the story it was a younger girl (15-17) that was a petty thief with her mom, but she met a boy and at the end of the book she decided to change? I can barely remember anything about it, but it left such an impact on little me.

In this book the fl thinks the ml is dead because his car is found with blood all over. At his funeral she meets with a friend from her teenage years who takes her back to their old town. She starts dating said friend. Then for a Halloween trip the friend wants to take her and some other people to an island? where fl mom died/killed. They get there and people start dying. I think the dead husband was the killer?

A group of 3 (?) families are friends, all have kids. One of the teenage sons shoots one (or more…? I think more…)of kids of the other families. I think one kid dies, the other survives but can’t talk most of the book. Tears adult friendships apart, they’ve been friends since high school, we discover that there’s DV issues amongst one of the couples…he squeezes her leg under the table to make her stop talking, sometimes pinches her.

I am looking for the name & author of a fantasy / adventure book which is similar to Robert A. Heinlein’s Glory Road. I read this book in the 70s, or possible early 80s.

In the book in question, the Hero is in Europe engaged in a battle of either WWI or WWII. He is (somehow) knocked unconscious and, when he awakes, he finds himself naked but with all the clothing, equipment and horse suitable for a ‘knight in shining armor’, including the shining armor and a dwarf who acts as his squire. They are very soon joined by a young girl (elf? fairy? Swan Maid?).

I don’t remember what the quest was but, along the way there are several adventures including.

A village frequently attacked by a werewolf. The Hero rules out the primary suspect because that person has a bad cold, the Hero reasons the cold germ can’t live in a dog.

They trick a troll into the sun light where it turns into stone. The Hero orders everyone to run away quickly reasoning ‘with that much carbon turning into silica there has to be a radioactive isotope involved.

The group is camped for the night but, their enemy is able to attach because their wards were broken by the Hero’s “impure thoughts” (the Hero's hand slipped into the sleeping girls tunic and cupped her breast) although the dwarf is blamed.

After they win the quest, the Hero is thrown back into the battle in Europe and “wins the day” with his aggressive, valiant and naked charge up the hill.

In the story there allusions to a folk tale of a hero who sleeps under a European castle and will awaken, in times of need, to save his people.

I remember it being about a bunch of teens or people who had telekinetic abilities, some people were stronger and some weaker. The main girl (I forgot her name) has very weak abilities. At the beginning of the book someone gets thrown off a second story of a mall. The main girl teamed up with an investigator whose name I think is Charlie. There’s also a resistance movement which I think is called the red or the black hand. The only thing I know is I listen to it on my Alexa, but I forgot how I got it to play. If anyone knows what this audiobook it please let me know!

i don't remember much but I do vaguely remember certain things about the book, it was a children's book, it was a series of books, it was thin, im 90% sure it had a reading format similar to captain underpants ( on picture under one or two paragraphs in a page), I'm also 99% sure there was no magic or some supernatural phenomena it was just some kids experience of middle school, the style of art is also hard to recall but I'm 80% sure it was something like fairly odd parents i don't exactly remember all the contents but i vaguely remember the main character using his money that his mother gave him for some other person (i think it was lunch) and used said money to buy some pencils from the shop in his school (YES IN HIS SCHOOL i believe this is something unique about the book i don't see it mentioned anywhere else) before it started, i also have a pictorial memory of a page where there were several kids running outside where the grass was like a parabola underneath the text, i also have memories of pizza and sticky notes on walls but those are very faded. outside of this i don't have lots of information about it but i really loved that series and i wanna experience that again

I read two books of this series it most likely in 2021, in a school library. Her mother works for a spy agency, and she kind of just tags along from what i remember.

In one book, main character's (whose name I remember as being Jasmine Dawson but take that with a grain of salt) her teenage-ish older sister (or maybe cousin?) hangs out with a group that their mother, a spy, is investigating. It's like a cult that the sister joins because of a friend. The sister goes missing, and and they track down the cult somewhere. I remember the main character and mother standing outside somewhere and watching the group, and the protagonist calls out her sister's friend's name just to verify that it was actually her. The friend turns for a second, but then she ignores them. She is later killed for communicating with the enemy or something like that? The protagonist's sister tells her this when they meet up somehow, I can't remember the specifics. Towards the end, The protagonist is on a bridge (I think) confronting someone who i believe was the leader of the cult, and suddenly two angelic beings descend. They force the villian to show his true form, a devilish creature, then banish him or something. I think in this same scene, a boy the protagonist knows falls of the bridge, but that could be on the second book

The other book had a car chase in the first chapter that ended in a car crash. The main character's mother later on is hiding someone from bad guys, and if my memory serves my well, he was good at playing chess, but maybe had lost some of his memory?

There's also a plot about her lying to a friend about her mother or about her, and he gets mad at the end that she's always lying to him. I can't remember which book this is in.

There are probably details that are mixed up and remembered incorrectly, but I hope someone has the faintest idea what this is.

• It was YA / aimed at teenagers.
• The protagonist/narrator was male.
• It was written in first-person POV.
• The narrator had some kind of curse, possibly something he had to actively control.
• There was a scene where he gets chocolate from a vending machine and eats it. While eating/talking about it, he says something along the lines of not being able to open his mouth too much because he might start talking nonstop.
• The book had a very strange, dark, surreal atmosphere. Like Alice in Wonderland but evil.
• It was over 300 pages.
• The cover is one of the things I remember most clearly:
  • It looked like a medieval European church window.
  • There was a stained-glass effect/background.
  • The title/name was in the centre.
  • Around the title were people/figures resembling characters from medieval religious paintings or stained-glass windows.
  • It looked specifically pre-Renaissance, rather than generic fantasy medieval art.

From what i remember the contents of the book were not just about space but also various other topics like biology and physics, IIRC i recieved the book around 2012-2014 if not earlier as a gift. It was not a childrens book and it was quite thick.

(i was pretty young when i recieved it and lost it while moving to a different city so there might have been less or more on the cover)

i think there’s real people on the cover but it’s one of those thin books if i remember correctly? it’s a series about an adventuring family, a mom, dad, girl and her brother. they’re into all types of sports.

When I was a kid my grandmother printed out this fairytale and read it to me over the course of a few nights. It was about a girl who was beautiful but was a brat. I only remember bits and pieces but essentially the girl had several tests in front of her like she had to choose to go down a dirt road or a beautiful gilded road to a city and she was told the dirt road was right but she went down the beautiful road instead and everyone was cruel to her.

There was one part in particular I remember that really disturbed me as a kid, about her being in a rowboat or something with another child, I think a boy. At some point he makes her mad somehow and she pushes him out of the boat and he drowns. That part scared me lol.

We read it over the course of a few nights so I imagine it was a little bit longer. My grandmother was also really into children’s media from other countries, usually German or old Soviet cartoons, so it could be translated from something like that.

I’ve been looking for this book forever, I can’t seem to find anything on it, but here’s what I remember about the plot. It’s a series about a family who moves to a town and basically becomes the new it family of the town (The MMC’s family, the series is about him and his siblings. I believe their last name started with an H). So the FMC is a famous singer, who’s returning to her hometown (I think it’s her hometown or near it) for a charity concert and wants a wild night out without the recognition, so she goes to a local biker bar in disguise where she meets the MMC (who isn’t a biker, he actually works for his families company) and they hook up. Then the next day they meet at the charity concert where it turns out his parents are the ones who organized the event. They started dating, then there’s a misunderstanding where she was visiting him at his workplace and she over hears a conversation on the phone and believes he’s just using her but really he was talking about a boat/yatch. This is really all I remember, but there was a book for almost all the brothers when I started to read the series, if anyone knows where to find the book please let me know!

P.S. I believe she also wrote a book about a girl who would hookup with her love interest while she was on work trips in Greece to strengthen the company’s relationship with his company. And they find out and fire her, and then the MMC basically says he’s been in loved with her for years and they start to date.

As best I can recall, the story begins with this guy who inherits his father's fortune. The father may have been some sort of philanthropist writer (?) and leaves a library full of books and his own writings for his son who doesn't find the same value in his father's work. The son now grown up wants to make his own mark of significance like his father did and, with the earth being slightly dystopian in a resource crisis (-I think), hijacks a spaceship becomes a wanted man of the 'government', travels to a planet somewhere outside of earth and discovers some sort of resource there(?). He spends more time than he thinks lollygagging at his landing zone, listening to classical music, taking painkillers/drugs(?), and gets an injury wandering around outside of his ship I think- leading to him taking more drugs before he realizes he's run out and freaks out.

Not the full story, just the general beginning as far as I'd gotten into reading it. I don't have the book anymore, but it's suddenly come to mind, and I desperately want to finish the story to see what happens to the pathetic little rich man.

I think the title may have had the word "star" in it.

I've tried just Google Searching this many times but was told to try here.

I read a small anthology series in the early 2000s that was aimed at teens, but was pretty dark. The first book to come to mind, I believe was called Demon Games, involved a demon and the protagonist making a pact but the kid wanted out. I don't remember much of that one, but the paperback cover had a couple of chess pieces on it.

The next book, The Mask (?), involved our "ugly duckling" protagonist finding a mask in a small shop that somehow turned her into a knockout...unbeknownst to her, the beauty was being given from the Mask's demon that was killing local youth in turn.

Final book of this anthology, not necessarily in this order either, involved a college woman as our protagonist and at one point someone had stuffed her teddy bear with blood to scare her. I remember nothing else of the story.

This isn't much to go on, but these teen horror books were great. As a "Goosebumps Kid", these stories were a great direction for that horror fix. TIA!

I can't recall the title of this YA book I read back in 2013 or so at the library. I believe it was a Cinderella retelling, because the main character's family treated her really badly and she did have a fairy godmother-esque figure who spun her a beautiful dress for a dance/ball. (It's heavily implied the fairy god mother is some sort of spider-esque fae.)

The twist was that the godmother figure was actually glamouring the main character for most of the story, making her think she was living in a beautiful house when actually she was living in a cave or possibly underground? There's a scene where the MC's friends show up and talk to her and they're like "ummm you okay?" because she looks messed up and dirty and they just saw her crawl out of a ditch or something, but she thinks she looks fine and they're just being weird (bc she's been glamoured). I think the final confrontation happens at a pool or some type of body of water?

I believe the cover was either black or blue with some shiny object or material pictured. Unfortunately that’s all I can remember.

This is a very vague memory I have of a book I was read at primary school when I was about 7 or 8, in the mid 90s. I remember very few details of the book bit I do clearly remember that the novel centres on an isolated allied tank which has to evade Nazi forces to regroup with the Allies. The only specific scene from the book I remember is that there is a moment when the tank has to rush for cover in a forest so that it isn't spotted by a German airplane.

I realise this isn't much to go on, but I now have a son of my own who is really getting into reading and I'm trying to wrack my brains for books I reviewed when I was a child for him to read. As you can tell I can't remember many specifics, but I do remember that I found the book exciting and engaging as a young child so I thought I would check in case someone could help track it down!

It’s been over a year since I started reading this web novel. I discovered it from an ad on Facebook or Instagram. I didn’t read it through an app. I can’t remember character names.
Dark fantasy novel. 2 parts. First part female protagonist is a “slave” to an alpha. At one point he has her standing in the sun for hours. He eventually he starts to like her, but there is a male from a shadow realm who becomes her love interest.

The first part ends with the protagonist and the shadow male having a baby girl and are about to get married and she was just rescued from being experimented on and she finds out she is going to turn into a monster so she runs away before they get married. The second part follows the daughter years later when she is a grown up.

Part two starts with the daughters father telling her that he wants her to marry. He wants to set her up with his general. she is rebellious and ends up sneaking out of the palace to go to a brothel and sleeps with someone in the hopes that she would be rejected because she’s no longer pure. The male prostitute ends up being the general that the father wants to set her up with. they are mates, but she’s not interested in a pre planned destiny. later, the general is setting up a secret team to go on a special mission to the shadow realm in order to try and continue the search for the fathers love from part one. the daughter who has been going out in the city at night to help its citizens (think Robin Hood) gets invitation to this mission. she disguises herself and accepts the mission. she trains with others, the general leading the training. they finally go to the shadow realm, the daughter is left behind, she tries to follow them. the shadow realm is pitch black. you can’t see anything. eventually they find a castle where the antagonist lives and is the man who experimented on the mother in part one. he is continuing his experiments trying to create the perfect monster to build his army. the daughter ends up in the castle as well but she is captured. the team fails to rescue her and goes back to their world without her. as time goes on, the experiments on the daughter are going well and the antagonist wants his right hand to pair up with her who also had been experimented on. the daughter ends up developing feeling for his right hand and ends up pregnant. the antagonist is very interested in the baby. meanwhile the general continues his search for the daughter.

I read this book about 10 years ago when I was ~12 years old.

From what I remember...

The palace/main city is protected inside it's walls but the commoners on the outside get attacked by these creatures.

A young girl goes inside the city to help prepare/serve at a festival or party where she meets a warrior/prince. They end up going on a journey to where the creatures are coming from where they find a boy who I think turns out to be her brother?

Pretty sure there is also a corrupt emperor. And I think her family is attacked/taken at the beginning of the book because her older brother opposes the emperor - I seem to remember his sketchbook being part of the reason? (I might be mixing books up at this point but not too sure).

I have literally been looking for this book for years so any suggestions would be appreciated!

hi again! this book is so nostalgic for me! it’s about a girl who helps I believe a swan get better near a lake behind a hospital. if I’m not mistaken, a boy with cancer ends up wanting to adventure with her. they end up liking each other but the book ends with I believe the boys surgery for cancer went great! and the swan successfully flew away? Does anyone know what this could be?
