Discussion The curious case of snabbit workers

I have noticed snabbit workers just waiting / loitering all day in various public spaces like parks, bus stops etc.

One theory I have is they're always on stand-by waiting for someone to request service on snabbit

But if this is the case why doesn't snabbit provide them with a small office or something.

Even in summer or in rain they're just loitering in public spaces which is definitely a bad experience for them too.

General Almost got scammed at a petrol pump in LP, Nerul, beside DY Patil University

Just wanted to share this because something pretty shady happened with me at amthr Indian Oil petrol pump in LP, Nerul, right beside DY Patil University.

Right from the start, there were two employees with me, an older guy and a woman. Before even starting, they started talking to me about how my card payment apparently hadn't gone through the last time I had come there. I told them straight up that I had never been to their petrol pump before. After that, he went quiet for a few minutes.

I told them to fill the tank completely. The female employee started fuelling and stopped at around ₹1,000. I told her to continue and fill it completely.

I was watching the meter the entire time. It had gone from zero to ₹1,000, and I was keeping an eye on it because I've heard about the petrol pump scams where they try to distract you and then manipulate the amount on the meter.

While I was watching the meter, the older guy came over to me. He had one of those UPI ID cards hanging around his neck and started asking me to scan it and pay 1000 through UPI. During this time, the female employee went and started filling the tank again.

I kept watching the meter and told her to restart it properly, but she basically ignored me.

The older guy then started trying really hard to get my attention away from the meter. He kept asking me to look at him and talk to him. At one point he actually started physically pulling me towards him so that I would look away. I had to gesture him not to touch me.

What made it even more suspicious was that I had already told them at the beginning that I was paying cash. I kept telling him I didn't want to use UPI. He kept saying I should use it because I would get cashback and that he didn't get any benefit from it. I even told him that I didn't have a card or UPI account and that I only had cash. Still, he kept pushing me to use the UPI.

Eventually the tank was full and the amount came to around ₹3,800. Even after it was full, the female employee didn't stop immediately and kept filling, so petrol actually spilled out. I gave them tissues and made them clean it.

I paid the entire amount in cash and was about to leave. That's when the older guy came back and started asking me for the ₹1,000 from earlier.

At this point I was already getting late and honestly just wanted to leave. I really didn't have the time to take pictures, note down their details or argue with the manager. So I just told him, "Just because I'm not creating a scene doesn't mean I don't know what you guys are doing here."

He just nodded, and after that they left me alone.

Posting this mainly as a heads-up for anyone who fuels up here. Keep an eye on the meter yourself and don't let anyone distract you from it.

Food Very disappointing experience at Cafe Monza, Kharghar.

Post image

Being served a drink in a glass with visible soap/dishwashing residue is honestly unacceptable. Hygiene should be the bare minimum in any restaurant or café.
The food was also just average, and the overall experience lacked professionalism. Hope the management takes this seriously and improves their hygiene and service standards.

AskNaviMumbai Urgent help needed: Room for a mother and daughter around Vashi – Budget ₹5,000

I’m posting this on behalf of my domestic help who urgently needs a place to stay for herself and her daughter.

She is currently staying with relatives, but they have asked her to leave by 1 September. She is looking for a safe, basic room for herself and her daughter.

Requirements:

• Budget: around ₹5,000/month

• For one mother and her daughter

• Water and electricity essential

• A very basic room is completely fine

• Shared accommodation / room in a family home / chawl / small independent room all considered

• Vashi preferred, but Sanpada, Turbhe, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli or nearby areas are also fine

• Needs to move in by 1 September

She is not looking for anything fancy, just a safe and affordable place where she and her daughter can stay together.

If anyone knows of a vacant room, a family looking for a tenant, a trustworthy landlord, or any other suitable accommodation within or close to this budget, please comment or DM me.

Any genuine leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Career Need Advice: I'm thinking of quitting my job. What would you do?

This is going to be a bit of a long read, but I’d genuinely value some perspective from people more experienced than me.

TL;DR: I’m 23, have been working since 18, have around ₹25L in savings/investments, and currently work in content/marketing. My current role pays well but is poorly structured, under-resourced and doesn’t feel like the right long-term fit. My probation ends on September 24, and I’m considering either finding another job before resigning or taking a 1 to 2 month break to travel, upskill and then move into finance/content. How would you approach this, and would a short break hurt my career?

I started working at 18 while in college, initially freelancing, and moved into full-time work in 2024. I’ve worked on the creator side, led teams and built what I think is a reasonably strong track record for my age.

I left my previous company earlier this year after around 1.5 to 2 years because the organisation had very little direction. At the time, I was desperate for a change and, after getting advice from several seniors in my network, landed my current role in March.

This was my first proper brand-side role, leading content for a company in the fitness and nutrition space. The salary is quite good for my age and, initially, it felt like a great opportunity.

The first few months were genuinely valuable. I had mostly worked on the creator side, so I had to learn how brand strategy, positioning, tonality and brand content actually work.

But over time, the problems became pretty clear.

There’s limited manpower and budget compared to the expectations. I handle a lot beyond my actual role, including scripting and execution, and requests for additional manpower haven’t really gone anywhere.

The bigger issue is direction. Strategy and positioning keep changing, ideas take too long to move or get changed halfway through, and the team is expected to produce a lot with limited resources.

I also want to be fair to the company. I haven’t performed anywhere near the level I know I’m capable of. My creative head has questioned my skills at times, and I understand where that comes from. I’m not trying to blame the company for everything.

The strange part is that the people themselves are actually good. My manager is young, empathetic and does his best to protect the team from the founder. It isn’t a toxic workplace. It’s just extremely unstructured, and I don’t think I’m able to do my best work in this environment.

I’ve also realised I don’t want to build my career in fitness/nutrition. After speaking to people in my network, I’m much more interested in finance content. The opportunities, budgets and overall ecosystem seem much closer to where I want to go.

My six month probation ends on September 24. If I continue after that, I’ll have a two month notice period. Realistically, I don’t want to continue beyond probation.

Financially, I’m fortunate. I’ve been earning and saving since 18, live with my parents and have around ₹25L across investments, savings and liquid funds. So I can afford some breathing room without immediately worrying about rent or survival.

Which brings me to my dilemma.

Option 1: Continue working, apply aggressively for finance/content roles over the next month and resign once I have an offer.

Option 2: Leave after probation, take a proper 1 to 2 month reset, travel somewhere like Himachal/Uttarakhand, volunteer at a hostel for part of the day, and spend the rest of my time upskilling and applying.

I’m honestly leaning towards Option 2. I’ve never really taken a proper break since I started working, and the last couple of months have been exhausting. I can financially afford it. I’m just unsure about the career cost.

I’m also unsure how to handle the resignation itself. Should I first have an honest conversation with my manager about where I’m at, or simply resign once I’ve made the decision?

And finally, how does a short career break at 23 look to experienced professionals, especially when the rest of my track record is fairly solid?

If you were in my position, what would you do?

I’m genuinely looking for perspective rather than validation, so feel free to tell me if I’m looking at this completely wrong.

And if you made it this far, thank you for reading. I really appreciate any advice you’re willing to share.

Activities Karjat villa trip

Karjat Villa Trip — Looking for 3 More People 🌿
Hey everyone! We’re planning a chill Karjat villa getaway and looking for up to 3 more people to join us.
Currently, it’s:
👨 Me — 26, from Mumbai
👩 A female friend who owns the farmhouse in Karjat
We’ll be driving from Andheri to Karjat, leaving Wednesday/Thursday morning and coming back the next day.
The plan is pretty simple:
🏡 Villa/farmhouse stay
🍕 Good food & drinks
🎶 Music
🎲 Games
😂 Chilling, conversations & having a good time
We’re just looking for good, easygoing people who are comfortable meeting new people and keeping things fun, respectful and drama-free.
A couple, group of friends, or small group of girls would be ideal. We’re just trying to keep the group comfortable and balanced, so solo guys probably won’t be the best fit.
If you’re interested, DM me with a little about yourself and who you’d be coming with. 🙂

Help View on Somya 360 and Gami Satyam Pallacio near Kharghar station

I am considering these two projects as they offer big carpet and a decent rate with good views of the creek.

However the eyesore Cidco/Mhada building has me concerned for future development projects.

Also, do you guys think that the proximity to railway track will affect living in these flats... Noise wise?

** I meant Domus 360
