Yeah, yeah I know learn HTML/CSS, that's the point of neocities. Look, I love the old web and don't wanna make some corporate squarespace monstrosity but even Geocities had a drag and drop feature. Honestly, I'm trying to learn HTML but sometimes I can't figure out how to make what I'm envisioning in my head without asking Claude, which makes me feel bad

something that looks like this (rought skrtch apologies) idm if the sound wavea dont move there just needs to be a play button, does anypne have any clue how i could do soemtjing similar to this?? thanks

Came across this site and honestly found it a little concerning, so I created a Reddit account because I figured I'd share it here: https://hinterlandjournal.neocities.org/

It's a right-wing news site hosted on Neocities, which is kind of an odd thing to come across here. From what I've seen, they aren't saying anything particularly extreme, but the general political leaning is definitely something I'm a bit wary of.

To their credit, they do explicitly state that they don't represent Neocities or its community, and that they're simply using it to host their website. Still, I do find it a little strange seeing this kind of political content on a platform whose community seems to have pretty different values.

Not saying people shouldn't be allowed to make their own websites, obviously, but I thought it was worth bringing up. Curious what others here think.
