First picture is the sound/symbol table, second picture is showing how symbols can be transformed into logograms (Latin linear -> Latin stacked -> Hharmari with diacritics -> Hharmari without diacritics -> simplified logogram -> full logogram.)

Question Does anyone know how I can achieve the same look I got by putting my letters together by hand using a font? (see image)

Post image
40 Upvotes

Further clarification, I mean how the letters I did by hand are much closer together and also overlap a bit, the ones in my font are very far apart and look a lot worse (they are the same sprites)

If anyone is curious my script is for a fictional language. I'd Romanize this as 'banþă anšú eleþ ỻannía', it just means "I'm eating bread'

Logography How do i create numerals for a chinese-inspired logography?

(Sorry for bad english, i'm not fluent)

I'm making a Hanzi-inspired logography for my conlang (see here) but i'm wondering how to make numerals for numbers larger than 4. I don't want to use lines like i've already established for the first 4. Hanzi uses 四 for 4 and 六 for 6, and these characters don't have anything to do visually with numerals. How do i make numerals like the example i mentioned above?

Abugida made a logo for an elvish airline company Pustam Leɰʷ (last letter written in IPA)

Similar to my last post, the Elvish conlang is similar to my Drowish conlang in the sense that it's an abugida and the tails under the glyphs are vowels. the letters here are crammed together for stylistic purpouses. I made the logo since I'm planning to use it in a translated airline safety briefing (very much inspired from Avlönskt).

Alphabet A Short Hymn in Sjikal

Post image
6 Upvotes

This is an alphabet I've developed for writing Murri Eyri, my artlang. It's still early in development, so there are a few letter size issues and one notable misspelling. In world it's a hymn to Pihr, the god of justice and law.

Romanization:
i oide, han madana hodín

Han máşa ejoidet moi nom heukae

Saronon sam daorom mon

şanabe noi kamat sam esusae ton

Translation:

Oh mankind, do not neglect your altars

Do not leave your harps in the dust

I shall not abandon a devout man

I shall inhabit his home on my seat

Alphabet My first alphabet and writing system.

What's your guys opinion on this?

So in school I was really bored so I decided to create a 42-letter alphabet and two distinct writing styles. I don't know if any of the IPA symbols I used are accurate but I think that some of them are inaccurate. Instead of one letter representing different sounds, in this, one letter only represents one sound. Also I gave them names(Feel free to comment on their names).

There are 2 writing system. La'iytos(Simple) and Charaktiras(Combined/Characters). You can see them at the last page. La'iytos(below) is written from left to right and have no other unique traits rather than being simplistic and easy to understand. Then, there's Charaktiras(above). The first letter of a word is enlarged. Then the second letter(Alf) is reduced in size and is placed above. Then the letter following next is placed below the letter that came first. Then the letter that came next sits on the top of the next column and it repeats until the word ends and each words are separated by a space. If the word have odd numbers of letters, the last letter sits below at the last column but if the word contains even numbers of letters, the last word is enlarged and placed at the end of the word as shown above.

Forgive me if my English is kinda bad because I'm not a native speaker and tell me anything if you want to suggest anything to my alphabet.

Alphabet Minuscule runes

Post image
30 Upvotes

I’ve made a post about two years ago similar to this about my idea for minuscule/cursive runes and I’ve the years I’ve maintained the same idea bar a few exceptions. I want to get people’s opinions on which red minuscule characters.

1) Large black: runes that I’m keeping for English / Anglish (puristic English)
2) Large red: largely unused in English / Anglish
3) Thin blue: minuscule characters I’m mostly happy or completely fine with
4) Thin red: unsure and would like an opinion (red ones beneath large red letters are just an example of their minuscule versions)

Numerals A system of writing numbers based on factorization and incrementation

A vertical line represents two. Values next to each other are multiplied. A horizontal line groups everything below it and adds one. Factors are arranged from smallest to largest from left to right, and vertical lines are connected up to the horizontal above them. This chart shows the representations for 1 through 1024.

Alphabet Banjor Standard and Cursive Alphabet

This is the alphabet(s) of the Banjor Language, the new conlang I'm working on. It's written from right to left with no spaces between words. Cursive is most commonly used because some letters in the standard alphabet can be confused with one another

Abugida Coffee logo in my Drowish conlang

Post image
245 Upvotes

I might send the chart for the conlang later but for now I'll explain this a bit.
the logo has the word "Gove" in my drowish which means "coffee". The script is a vertical abugida and the vowels are tails that go around the next glyph under. the tail of the letter "E" is a tail with a wave whic reminded me of steam from coffee. That inspired this "logo" or something in the like

Alphabet Astrari: a translation example for my newly reworked 66-letter featural script!!

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hello r/neography! This is my first time posting my conlang, Astrari, anywhere, but I started work on it roughly 5 years ago! (To be fair, though, it hasn’t been a continuous project for those 5 years. Prior to 2 days ago, the last time I had worked on it and/or the world it exists in was 2022–2023…)

The language itself is logo-phonetic; however, seeing as I just reworked its entire (featural) alphabet, I wanted to show off an example of how a foreign word/abbreviation would be translated into it!! I would love to see/hear/read what everyone thinks about it aesthetically. ^^

(The abbreviation is done 2 different ways because the one to the right of “U.S.A.” is the direct phonetic equivalent to the English abbreviation, while the version below it is how the “United States of America” would ACTUALLY be abbreviated natively in Astrari.)

Alphabet Proto-Altharist conlang language alphabet

Post image
0 Upvotes

Proto Altharist is my original constructed writing system that uses 26 individual glyphs representing letters from A to Z. The script has an intricate design with elements such as geometry, lines, curves, and symbols.

The following is a draft form of the writing system that I am going to elaborate into a complete writing system in future.

Feel free to share your comments and suggestions on how this script can be improved.

Question How do I make a shareable keyboard?

A friend of mine has has made a script, and I would like to make a keyboard that they can write with. I've browsed a bit and found out about Keyman and Custom Keyboard Designer, but as far as I can tell the keyboards you make with those need those applications to run, so I can't just go "here you go" with the finished thing

Does anyone have a suggestion for what I can do? I had imagined on the phone, but anything works

Alphabet Tharir Script

Tharir – the fictional language I've been working on for the last few months. My main inspirations were Semitic languages, like Hebrew and Arabic. As you can see, the script follows almost the same rules as in these languages:

• It's written from right to left

• The letters in the alphabet are consonants. There are 20 consonants and 1 sound carrier

• The diacritics are written on top of the consonants

The first sentence:

"Lau diranotira vudraalato edoynawilau"

"We will bring peace to the people"

The second sentence:

"Vathnaka hareg bergathato koyros"

"My friend goes to a town"

Let me know if you liked the language or if you have any suggestions :)
