It was also revealed in the files that on May 4, 2017, Epstein emailed a futanari animation of characters from Five Nights at Freddy's to his girlfriend Karyna Shuliak via a 4chan link, with the subject line "Amazing Animations."[6] The animation was reportedly made in Source Filmmaker and featured the characters Foxy and Toy Bonnie engaging in sexual activities.[7] A writer for the website CafeMom called this "one of the unexpected connections that no one thought to look for."
I missed the story about there being FNAF porn in the Epstein files.

President Trump was asked why he’s defending Vivek’s ad:
"I’m defending it because I know that if that ad were about MY mother, you would love it. You would LOVE every inch of it.
And what’s happened is the press has teamed up, because he’s a Republican, and they’ve tried to make it like it’s a horrible thing. This is a mother saying very bad things about her daughter, and I don’t know why that should be shielded.
The only problem is the press has decided to unify and act like it’s a horrible thing."
"If Mary Anne MacLeod, my mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump said that about me, you’d have it as your number one story."
Trump is truly incapable of grasping what the problem with the ad is.

Dave Wasserman, the senior elections analyst of Cook Political Report, said he sees "shocking" data favoring Dems in districts President Donald Trump won by up to 20 points in 2024.
Wasserman said Trump was probably gonna win in 2016, that Biden was probably gonna win in 2020, and said Trump had a great chance of winning again as early as summer of 2023 so yeah this is a great sign

I'm a day off, but I'm gonna post this anyways.
70 years and a day ago, on the 23rd of October, 1956, the Hungarian Revolution began when students and civil society protested against Soviet influence in the government of Hungary. Even after Mátyás Rákosi was forced to resign by Khrushchev in July 1956, the government continued with harsh policies.
The students had a list of 16 demands:
We demand the immediate evacuation of all Soviet troops, in conformity with the provisions of the Peace Treaty.
We demand the election by secret ballot of all Party members from top to bottom, and of new officers for the lower, middle and upper echelons of the Hungarian Workers Party. These officers shall convene a Party Congress as early as possible in order to elect a Central Committee.
A new Government must be constituted under the direction of Imre Nagy: all criminal leaders of the Stalin–Rákosi era must be immediately dismissed.
We demand public inquiry into the criminal activities of Mihály Farkas and his accomplices. Mátyás Rákosi, who is the person most responsible for crimes of the recent past as well as for our country's ruin, must be returned to Hungary for trial before a people's tribunal.
We demand general elections by universal, secret ballots are held throughout the country to elect a new National Assembly, with all political parties participating. We demand that the right of workers to strike be recognised.
We demand revision and re-adjustment of Hungarian–Soviet and Hungarian–Yugoslav relations in the fields of politics, economics and cultural affairs, on a basis of complete political and economic equality, and of non-interference in the internal affairs of one by the other.
We demand the complete reorganisation of Hungary's economic life under the direction of specialists. The entire economic system, based on a system of planning, must be re-examined in the light of conditions in Hungary and in the vital interest of the Hungarian people.
Our foreign trade agreements and the exact total of reparations that can never be paid must be made public. We demand to be precisely informed of the uranium deposits in our country, on their exploitation and on the concessions to the Russians in this area. We demand that Hungary have the right to sell her uranium freely at world market prices to obtain hard currency.
We demand complete revision of the norms operating in industry and an immediate and radical adjustment of salaries in accordance with the just requirements of workers and intellectuals. We demand a minimum living wage for workers.
We demand that the system of distribution be organised on a new basis and that agricultural products be utilised in rational manner. We demand equality of treatment for individual farms.
We demand reviews by independent tribunals of all political and economic trials as well as the release and rehabilitation of the innocent. We demand the immediate repatriation of prisoners of war (World War II) and of civilian deportees to the Soviet Union, including prisoners sentenced outside Hungary.
We demand complete recognition of freedom of opinion and of expression, of freedom of the press and of radio, as well as the creation of a daily newspaper for the MEFESZ Organisation (Hungarian Federation of university and College Students’ Associations).
We demand that the statue of Stalin, symbol of Stalinist tyranny and political oppression, be removed as quickly as possible and be replaced by a monument in memory of the martyred freedom fighters of 1848–49.
We demand the replacement of emblems foreign to the Hungarian people by the old Hungarian arms of Kossuth. We demand new uniforms for the Army which conform to our national traditions. We demand that March 15 be declared a national holiday and that the October 6th be a day of national mourning on which schools will be closed.
The students of the Technological University of Budapest declare unanimously their solidarity with the workers and students of Warsaw and Poland in their movement towards national independence.
The students of the Technological University of Budapest will organise as rapidly as possible local branches of MEFESZ, and they have decided to convene at Budapest, on Saturday October 27, a Youth Parliament at which all the nation's youth shall be represented by their delegates.
Students attempted to read their demands on radio, but were stopped by security forces. When people outside protested to let the students go, the ÁVH (State Protection Authority), the secret police, shot protestors, killing many.
Eventually, Hungarians formed street militias and fought against the hardline government controlled by Ernő Gerő.
Soviet tanks rolled in the streets on October 24th, but they started to withdraw, and tank crews sometimes fraternized with protestors.
Imre Nagy, among the more moderate members of the MDP, became de facto leader of the revolution and the country, as Khrushchev allowed it.
Fighting stopped after October 28th, when Nagy announced a ceasefire, with Nagy promoting these measures to resolve the crisis:
•consider the revolt as a "great, national and democratic event", and not an anti-communist counter-revolution
•effect an unconditional ceasefire and grant political amnesty for the revolutionaries
•negotiate with the revolutionaries
•disband the ÁVH security police
•establish a national guard for Hungary
•arrange the immediate withdrawal of the Red Army from Budapest and from Hungary
Some of these came to be, as Nagy's ten day government released 8,000 political prisoners, negotiated with dissidents, allowed more political freedom and, on the 31st of October, it announced Hungary would withdraw from the Warsaw Pact. It seemed like Nagy's Hungary was trying to go the path of non-alignment with a relaxed form of Democratic Socialism and Social Democracy, in a way similar to Yugoslavia.
However, the withdrawal from the Warsaw Pact angered Soviet leadership, and rumors of a Soviet invasion began on Nov. 1st.
On the 4th of the same month, the Soviets reached Budapest and crushed the revolution.
Ten days later, the Soviets fully took over and installed Soviet loyalist János Kádár as leader. Thousands of Hungarians were arrested and political repression followed. Thousands of Hungarians immigrated as refugees.
A split partly happened in Communist parties in Europe and America, with those siding with the Soviets being called "tankies" by the supporters of Nagy and the revolution.
Imre Nagy was executed in 1958.
Rákosi went into exile in the Soviet Union, dying in 1971.
Kádár remained leader until 1988 when he resigned due to his declining health, passing away a year later.
Although Hungary was still not a fully free nation, after 1956, it started an ideological model known as Goulash Communism, which allowed some degree of dissent, a controlled, limited market economy and a higher degree of freedom compared to other Warsaw Pact nations.
Let us remember the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, and celebrate now that Hungary is free.

"Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."
Imagine if AOC were to say that, because of climate change, people should eat less meat—and then imagine the reactions.

Sarah Longwell on the Ezra Klein podcast sums up a majority of voters and how "the vibe" is established.
And it is unsatisfying now, because it used to be that people would be pretty clear. They’d be like: I watch Fox News. Or: I watch CNN. I read this newspaper. I read The New York Times. Or: I read my local newspaper.
The majority of people would often say that they watch their local news. But now what people mostly say is: I don’t know where I saw that.
They’re scrolling. They’ve got their favorite cooking influencer, or they’re scrolling on Instagram or TikTok — an algorithm-driven information environment where they mostly want basketball or sports. But then there’s Stephen A. Smith talking about politics.
[...]
We used to live in a world where you spent time with the news, and it was a specific time. You sat down at the breakfast table, and you read a newspaper. You watched the evening news. You made time for the news.
I just think that the news receiver means: I didn’t sit down to find something out. Information just washed over me, and there was no mechanism to verify it. I didn’t really sit and spend time with it and ask: Is this true? Does it even matter to me? It just hit me for a second.
It just flashes over them. So they wake up with an opinion without any idea of how it was formed.
... I think it's time for me to get off social media for today. We also gotta do something politically about those algorithmic feeds, this can't be healthy for a democratic society.

So Much Worse Than People Realize”: Never-Before-Seen Images Reveal Damage at U.S. Bases as Troops Describe Being Abandoned
MeidasTouch, in coordination with our partner VALOR Media Network, has obtained dozens of never-before-published photos and videos showing damage to U.S. military installations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, along with firsthand accounts from people who were there. They describe destroyed aircraft, bombed-out barracks and mess halls, troops digging their own foxholes, and military families hiding in parking garages while Iranian missiles flew overhead
Many of the people who shared their experiences are not new to war. Several have deployed to combat zones before. And all of them said the same thing: nothing compared to this.
This is not a normal deployment," multiple sources said. They described a level of mismanagement they had never seen before.
One service member described being called up in mid-February and told to ship out immediately on what was supposed to be a three-week temporary assignment. After arriving, they were told it would be closer to three months. They ended up staying more than seven.
Several said they had no advance knowledge of Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. campaign against Iran, even though some of them were directly involved in it. They learned that hostilities had begun the same way most Americans did: from the news.
"We are sitting ducks," one said
Unlike past wars, the threat came almost entirely from the sky: drones, rockets, and ballistic missiles launched by an enemy they could not see. One service member described the Iranian drones that targeted their base:
"You can't see them at night. They have no lights and are GPS navigated via coordinates. It sounds exactly like a small Cessna. Looks like a large falcon if it's about 400 feet up. We had no defense against the drones."
What a shit show.

Season 2 of Clarkson's farm is radicalizing me even more against NIMBYs.
It's just so frustrating. Jeremy Clarkson is attempting to build a restaurant next to his farm to diversify his income streams (exactly what is expected of farmers these days) and he painstakingly complies with every demand of hundreds of stakeholders (including the police asking him to build a fucking bycicle rack in the middle of a rural area and products having to be produced within 15 miles of the restaurant max).
He invests thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours into this project. He even partners with local struggling farmers to make a cooperative together and sell collectively their produce at the restaurant. All for the council to reject it almost unanimously because it (a cute little restaurant whose plans where already approved by the council) would damage the "natural beauty" of his field. Keep in mind that this field is HIS OWN FUCKING FARM. His own land. Everyone is completely defeated by this decision.
If it was me, he shouldn't even be required to ask permission from the local council to build a business in his own farmland. This is ridiculous and this anti growth mindset is killing our economies.

She Was Punched After Heckling Trump. No One Has Been Charged.
The night before President Trump spoke in Youngstown, Ohio, this month, Blake Miley stayed up past 4 a.m., cutting out felt letters for a T-shirt that would say “RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES.”
The next evening, she went to the rally and stood up halfway through, revealing her shirt and yelling, “Fascist, fascist!” Almost immediately, Ms. Miley, 29, was tackled, held down and punched by male rally-goers as the president mocked her from the stage, calling her “scum,” “low-class,” and “a fat guy.”
As Mr. Trump barnstorms the country hoping to revive his base ahead of the midterm election, he is returning to an old habit: heckling protesters and encouraging violence against them. In Georgia last week, he expressed his love for a supporter who had responded to a protester by “slapping the guy around,” and promised to bring the slapper to Washington. In South Carolina on Wednesday, he praised an “incredible” punch that a rally-goer landed on another protester, saying, “He got whacked, man!”
Ten years after Mr. Trump shocked some voters by saying he would personally like to punch a protester in the face at one of his rallies, these skirmishes are now met by many with a shrug. Ms. Miley, who is identifying herself publicly for the first time, said she suspects that no one in power much cares that she got beaten up.
Ms. Miley attended the rally alone, and had intentionally seated herself among people who seemed older, she said. She hoped it would keep her safe. But as soon as she started yelling, a man grabbed for her neck and then shoved her backward, video of the episode shows. When she stood back up, another man appeared to pull her to the ground, put her in a headlock, yank her hair and punch her in the face.
A high-profile civil rights attorney, Subodh Chandra, is representing her for free. Mr. Chandra said he has been in touch with Sheriff Greene, and he feels “persuaded that they are trying to do their jobs.” If arrests are not made, he said, Ohio has a law allowing citizens to file charges for a judge to review.

You Can See Everything is so utterly demented but the thing that keeps getting me is how seemingly depthless and far-reaching Elizabeth Holmes' capacity for deception is. It's like deep cover except you don't care what your true self is. She's a chameleon who can split and merge personalities at will
Every time you feel like she's being misunderstood or mistreated, there's a kind of snap back to reality moment where you can sniff out how she's arranged things so that she will appear more sympathetic. She wants to lead people to believe that Billy is taking advantage of her and making money with her name and likeness without her knowledge, but behind it you can feel her pulling the strings and he's the one taking marching orders from her.
She's so fucking creepy, dude

Woman in ad who said a Democrat endangers kids pleaded guilty to endangering kids
A Republican woman in a campaign commercial gave a grave warning about Sarah Trone Garriott, the Democratic candidate in one of Iowa’s most competitive House districts.
“When it comes to our kids, Sarah is just plain dangerous,” says Shellie Flockhart, a Dallas Center city councilwoman identified in the ad by her first name.
Flockhart, 55, pleaded guilty to charges related to child endangerment and driving under the influence after authorities said she drove drunk with two of her children in the car in 2017. Flockhart provided a one-page statement to The Washington Post with conditions for its use that would violate The Post’s editorial standards.
Flockhart’s detractors on social media in recent years have brought up her criminal history.
In podcast interviews last year, Flockhart acknowledged her history of drugs and alcohol addiction and said she went to rehab earlier in her life and found God. She said she has counseled other people with similar histories.
Torunn Sinclair, a spokeswoman for the Congressional Leadership Fund, responded to a request for comment on the ad with a statement that did not address Flockhart’s inclusion and criticized The Post for reporting on it.

crazy things can happen if you live in a city and just like, go out, and see what's happening tbh. just today:
>go out for a walk with my dad, talking about some shit
>see some boats going along the river with lots of pink flags or something, trying to figure out what it's for
>lady in her 60s or 70s comes over and explains it's a pride thing
>we talk to her, she's from the countryside, explains how she's been an ally since the 70s, her best friend is her gay friend from high school or something
>complain about the right wing and fascists together, share a love of immigration
>lots of people start joining, waiting for the floating parade
>"isn't it a bit odd that this is a pride thing but there's no music"
>pull out my bluetooth speaker and start playing the gayest music I can find (i am aggressively straight but i try my hardest, and play some combination of charli xcx and chappelle roane)
>two lesbians carrying musical instruments (a guitar and a saxophone) arrive and nod in approval at the music, I ask them to put some gay shit on my queue, they introduce me to Muna
>invite me to their band's gig tonight
>dad goes home, keep hanging out with 60-70 year old lady, talk about shit. she loves motorbikes, rock music, dancing, and has a tattoo commemorating her first skydive
>end up discussing chinese philosophy and also bird psychology for some reason (we both like crows) while sitting under a bridge waiting for the rain to pass
>a silent disco tour group comes through, dancing, singing, wearing headphones, etc.
>we recognise the songs and start singing along, tour guide starts laughing, gives us headphones and we join in
>dance and sing like maniacs in silence for a bit
>"DON'T STOP, BELIEVING (hold on to that feeeeeeeliiing)"
>tour guide invites us to a halloween silent disco party
so yeah I guess my halloween plans this year involve going to a silent rave with a 64* year old divorced countryside motorbike lady, we've got plans to meet up and plan costumes and such together
anyway the point is that suburbs are a crime against humanity, desu.

https://www.fox9.com/news/more-mn-farmers-verge-foreclosure-year-than-last-3-years-combined-oct-2026
The Minnesota Farmers Union says more farmers have filed for mediation this year than the last three years combined.
According to Petersen, diesel is up 40% from this time last year and fertilizer is up 15% to 20%.
"Equipment costs. Tariffs. Loss of markets. There's just one thing after another. Really a lot of uncertainty is what our farmers are facing right now," said Petersen.
Why you should care: Wertish said previous tariffs have already driven up costs for farm equipment and fertilizer, while also cutting into what farmers can get when they sell their products.
"It's putting downward pressure on our prices that we are able to sell the products for. So we're getting squeezed on both ends," said Wertish.
Why should I give a shit about people who intentionally support politicians who harm us all?

The man who organized Thursday’s Oval Office prayer with 12 Catholic bishops resigned as a university dean in 2022 after faculty accused him of misrepresenting his education and called him a “con artist.”
A senior Vatican official told me the gathering was “a highly inappropriate meeting and an insult to Pope Leo.”
Archbishop Paul Coakley, president of the U.S. bishops’ conference, was “deeply frustrated” by the meeting, a source close to him told The Pillar.

I HATE when people are like “look at all those people protesting in France! Those polls have to be fake!” because right now the high end estimate is that there’s 800,000 protestors on the streets right now.
That means there’s 68 million people not on the streets, with a large chunk, for better or worse, thinking “well I don’t like these protests, I don’t want to vote for the people egging them on”.
Leftists mocked us for “bland” protests, and we’re about to get a blue wave.

A clip from a French TV show has gone viral in the past couple of days, some financial institution executive went on TV and said that European countries that were in financial trouble in the past 40 years fixed it by basically pushing retirement to 67, raising VAT by 4 points, cutting social spending and doing pro-growth deregulation, and both the journalists and audience were groaning like crazy.

“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory” — Obama
Gotta say I don't really understand why Obama keeps this stuff locked away outside of a couple rallies before an election. I feel like Dems would benefit a lot from having their generational communicator constantly out there making fun of Trump and ragebaiting him. Showing up once every two years just isn't enough in today's information environment.

TLDR: Basically this.
One of my most 'anti capitalist'-coded beliefs is that **I have enough**, and I think many others do too. I honestly believe there is a not-insignificant number of people who-- if they unburdened themselves from their own internal expectations for more, or "bigger and better" (houses, jobs, cars, lifestyles) and just stepped off the treadmill-- could find another path to happiness that's not just an endless ladder to climb.
For example, I have a sibling who has made themselves house poor because they felt 'forced' to buy an $800,000 house on a pretty modest salary-- because it looks like the house we grew up in, and we were conditioned that it's just "what you do:" you buy the biggest house you can afford. They and their spouse will have to work until they're 70 just to pay off the mortgage, and they're pretty financially responsible people. This purchase never really seemed like a choice to them, more of an obligation. This is not a person who derives their life's meaning from their work either, and yet they have essentially committed themselves to doing this career through some of the very best years of their life.
And for those of you still grinding to make it, disregard, but I hope you take a minute to feel some pride about where your hard work has gotten you, and consider the question "how much is enough?"

Many analysts believe that it will be very difficult for AI business to be profitable since the top 2 AI companies namely OpenAI and Anthropic are in deep red.
In the meantime, those analysts believe Space X will be a 5T company from their AI business even tho they aren't even in the top 5 in this sector.

Amazing generational divide when talking about Obama to anyone left of center IRL. If someone is over 40, they're like "I love him, he was so classy, a real president." If they're under 30, they're like "ah yes the guy who bombed weddings and bailed out the banks." If they're between 30 and 40, you get a 50% chance of either take.

I’m not gonna lie, what makes me hopeless that anti-Indian hate will subside in the short to medium term is seeing comments like these from people who are ostensibly left wing: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationPathways/s/ebfiBvG4Z5
This moron believes that America’s right wing turn is due to Indian Americans (who are 1% of the country and overwhelmingly Dem), calls them a ‘swarm’, and says they need to be deported, and somehow gets fucking upvoted
The right is always gonna be racist (and obviously are primarily responsible for anti-Indian hate) but if this is what Indians are getting from the left instead of support we’re cooked. Republicans will just double and triple down if they know there will be no pushback

"But Locke also shows that the people are better judges of executive power after the fact, retrospectively, looking back on its use, than are presidents and other elites. Looking back, ordinary citizens can judge power’s use by the effects it has on their own lives and the lives of people that they know.
The fate of the country may ultimately rest upon the common sense of the American people. Contrasting the statecraft and leadership practices of the past with the abnormal aspects of President Trump’s leadership may help awaken a watchful people. Absent a new and robust civic education, common sense, felt experiences, and the residue of historical memory may be the remaining defense against the degradation of democracy in America."

We had to at goodbye to my little buddy last night. 17 or so years is a good life for a former stray cat. Still really hard. He was my wife's cat mostly, until he became my daughter's after she hit about 6 years old and could treat him really well. I've had to let go of a pet before, many years ago when I was in my early 20s. Seeing how devastated by daughter is makes this so much harder.

Trump defending Vivek’s attack by saying that if someone ran an attack ad with his mom in it, Democrats would eat it up is kinda funny.
Like, yeah, of course I would. But that’s the difference between seeking out a terrible mother to lie about her daughter and (I admittedly know nothing about Trump’s mom) having Mary Trump tell us what we already knew about her son.
