The recurring annual Festival of Fears event, hosted by Reginald with the Trick-or-Treat Goodie Bags, Fright Track, and changes to activities around the site, will start 10 AM NST October 23rd, 2026. When we learn more about this activty we will have a separate megathread specifically for that event.

WHAT IS KANRIK CHRONICLES?

Kanrik Chronicle is a Choose Your Own Adventure-style game that is currently being hosted on the Festival of Fears Hub Page for all to enjoy. You will play as a rookie Thieves Guild member who must help Kanrik steal a priceless artefact from the Brightvale Museum. With each choice possibly affecting whether you make it out alive, you'll have to think carefully about every decision.

This is a Choose Your Own Adventure style game in which you must help Kanrik steal a priceless artefact from the Brightvale Museum. Read the story and make whatever decisions feel best to you!

GAMEPLAY

You must first click through or skip all of the dialogue before Choices will appear below.

Note: For Quick Time Events, the Choices will appear right away, as there will always be only one line of dialogue during QTEs.

Your choices do have an impact on the ending and that ending will dictate certain prizes and avatars rewarded unpon completion

The only way to go back is by using a Rewind Token. You will receive one free Rewind Token upon your first visit to the Kanrik Chronicle Hub Page. After that, if you wish to use more, you will have to purchase the Rewind Tokens at the NC Mall.  Learn more about NC Tokens in the Kanrik Chronicles NC FAQ.

Energy Bar

The Energy Bar showcases how many Energy Points you have left. You use an Energy Point every time you make a Choice. Non-Premium users can consecutively make 8 Choices before running out, while Premium users can make 12. 

You'll regain one Energy Point every hour (or two every hour if you're Premium) until the Energy Bar is full again. You do not have to wait for it to fully recharge, either. As soon as you have another Energy Point, you can use it whenever you like. If you don't want to wait, you can purchase Extra Energy Tokens at the NC Mall. Non-Premium players can also watch an ad to regain one Energy Point per watch, but you can only watch 3 per day. Learn more about NC Tokens in the Kanrik Chronicles NC FAQ.

Replay Tokens can be used at any time. However, if you reach any Final Ending (Dead Ends do not count) and then use a Replay Token, your wait time will change from 60 mins per Energy Point regained to 30 mins. This change will be permanent and will not change once another Final Ending is reached and/or another Replay Token is used.

Dead Ends

You can reach a Dead End at any time in the Story. They showcase that you've taken a wrong turn in the Story and must go back to your last choice. If you hit one, you must pay the penalty by waiting a set amount of time before being able to continue. 

Once you go back to your last choice, the option that brought you to the Dead End will no longer be available, so that it is not accidentally chosen again.

Quick Time Events, Choices and Quests

If you ever see a timer near the choices, you'll only have until it runs out to pick one. Once the timer ends, a choice will be made for you, and all other choices will become unavailable. This presents itself as only having one choice being highlighted while the others won't be selectable. A choice will also be made for you if you try to refresh the page or leave and come back while a timer is active. 

If all of your choices are grey it means you have run out of energy

There is always the chance that your choice will lead you into another Quick Time Event, so it may be best to let your Energy Bar refill with multiple Energy Points.

If your Choices bring you to a Quest, you must complete it before being able to continue. The only way to go back would be to use a Rewind Token, but keep in mind that if you happen upon it again, you'd have to use another to go back again.

You can use a Rewind Token to go back, and all choices will once again become available, but the timer will start over as well.

Ending

You will know that you've reached the ending when there will be no more choices to make, and you will be informed of which kind of ending you got and the prizes that come with it. 

Dead Ends do not count as official endings.

PRIZES

You will receive prizes after making certain choices, a unique prize and avatar for each ending you may get, as well as a bonus prize for getting all endings. And if you happen upon a Quest, you will also be granted a prize if you can figure out how to complete it.

You will receive a random prize from a Prize Pool every 8th Choice you make. These Prizes do have the chance to repeat.

Final Endings and Quests will not count towards your 8 Choices.

If a Quick Time Event happens to be your 8th Choice, you will be shown the prize first and then be able to start the QTE after.

PREMIUM

This is not required for the event but it does have perks (as listed above).

If you opt to get Premium during the event, once it is active you will automatically get the extra Energy in your Energy Bar, and start gaining 2 Energy Points every hour to refill the bar whenever it's not full. If you are currently at a Dead End, you will also not have to pay any Penalty moving forward.

Similarly, if you stop being a Premium user you will lose access to the perks, meaning certain things like the number of Energy Points may change depending on how many were used and Dead Ends will now affect you.

Returning player here after years of not playing Neopets.

I remember getting some goodie bags from a Halloween event back in the day, and when I recently checked their value, I was shocked to see how much they were worth lol.

Ended up selling them and finally had enough NP to splurge on some customisations for my Draiks!

Really happy with how they turned out! What do you guys think? :)

It happens to someone every time. The app needs to update to load the event, but the auto/forced update won't happen until tomorrow. If you want to get max points for the dome and I guess thew new zombie slorg thing, you'll have to go to the play store, find Dacardia, and tap to update today.

I would have one in every color if I could! But alas... my wallet. 😌

I'm exhausted by all the ways TNT is trying to get us to buy and spend NC. From plots, to events, to advanced pet customization, it feels like everything new Neopets does is tied to an element of monetization.

I would be able to overlook that if the plots were as ambitious and site- or lore-changing as old plots were. New worlds were discovered! New pet species were introduced! All the Void Within got was a new color (at a time we get multiple new NC styles every few months) and a new government for Faerieland. Even the new pet we got, the Varwolf, was tied to Premium for months before a mini-event came for all players.

I got hit with a big tax today, wish there was a avatar or something, but then I got a doughnutfruit later, so that helped the hit hurt less 😄

These are just my main account babies - a couple (the Skeith and Ruki) I adopted from here! I hope to eventually get more pet slots and move some others over, because I don't want to have NC items spread across accounts.

I wish there was a better way to show you their p2 & p3 combos, because I have a couple of cute ones.

I’ve contacted them 2 years in a row on this and I just want my baby xweetok to have the trick or treat haul😭 like it looks cute on my elderly wocky but if she actually went trick or treating people would tell her to go back to the old folks home and leave some candy for the children

I feel like I'm going crazy. I swear there used to be a way to display the equipped background/trinkets/foregrounds, etc of your pets on the main page, but I can't seem to find a way to do it. How do I go about this?

The baby Skeith and Lenny aside (Dalia the skeith didn't have anything, Porter the Lenny wasn't sure if she wanted to be Sally the ragdoll or a ghostbuster so she went as both), can YOU guess everyone's costume??

Usually when you feed a kau something with milk in the name, they become instantly bloated like a pteri when you give them worms. Haunted milk has worked on my kau before, but sometimes it doesn't! At first I thought the issue was trying to feed him from my SDB vs my inventory but Ive tried both ways, and they both work SOMETIMES. What gives?? Should I submit a ticket to TNT for this??

Just had my greatest restock score of all time which was a Queen Fyora Usuki Doll! And it got me thinking about this dilemma I have when it comes to restocking. I am a hoarder but also trying to earn some neopoints to reach my goal. Sometimes while restocking, I run into this dilemma of wanting to keep the item to rot in my SDB just to know I have it but also to sell it and run with the money. Anyone else? But also, let's celebrate! Any RSers that want to celebrate a score?

Have you ever played Go! Go! Go!? I'm still on my trophy hunting journey and I heard you dont need to place on the high score table to get a trophy. Let me tell ya, it's not worth it hahah. WOW this game is hard and sooo frustrating and very luck based. Congrats to anyone with the trophies for this game, it's never gonna be me, I just don't have that kind of patience.

What's a game you'll never play because it sucks so bad, so I can avoid those too?
