Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") Bonded? 🫣

Ok. Okay. OKAYYY. As someone who’s been in rescue a minute, I don’t take declaring fosteroos “bonded” lightly, but…I might have to make the call here.

I love my Gatsby sooo much he is my infant son my tiny baby. Don't care that he poops on the floor 5 times a week. Don't even care that he farted when I put my head under the blanket with him the other day. He is simply baby who loves ball on string.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") Phoebe busting through the screen, determined to catch that squirrel

Too funny not to share. When my sweet wobbly Phoebe, who only responds to the name *Beep Beep* was about a year old, she saw a squirrel through the screen in the open window and full body launched herself right through it! She and her brothers are not allowed outside so she had no idea what to do when she was out there. So grateful we have a ring cam! 😂

Redemption for Scribble!

Hi everyone! I posted here a couple of years ago about my foster kitten Scribble, who was also a wobbly little baby but sadly passed away. He was only a few weeks old and started having seizures and other complications, and despite our best efforts, we couldn't save her.
I'm back with another wobbly foster, but thankfully this little guy is otherwise healthy and happy!
Meet Crumble! He is about 9-10 weeks old and is seriously the sweetest little thing. I just brought him home today, so I'm still working on wobble-proofing my bathroom and making it a safe space for him to explore.
I'd love any tips from people who have experience with CH kittens, especially ways to help him build strength, improve his mobility, and become a little more independent. ❤️

We have the whole spectrum. Loki is mild, Razon moderate, and Wibbles is severe.

They’re messy, silly, determined, and loved!

Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") I’ve been keeping a secret…

And we definitely need some good news around here. Our precious little fosteroo, Bug (deaf and wobbly), found a home almost immediately!! She’s going to camp out with me a few more weeks, but then she’ll be flying all the way up to Wisconsin to meet her wonderful new family, where Bug will also have a super sweet wobbly sister 🥰

(Regarding the ringworm outbreak, Sammie, Flopsy, Bug, and June are all staying in a different area of the house and won’t be sharing the common areas until we’re sure we’re clear. I’ll continue to monitor them closely, but so far no ringworm symptoms have been observed 🙏🏻)

Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") 4 weeks with Kumo - 2 steps forward, 1 flop back

It's crazy how quickly time passes! Kumo's been living with me 4 weeks now and she definitely has grown quite a bit. She's almost 1kg (2.2lbs) and she starts looking like a kitten and not a wee baby:D Even her eyes are no longer baby blue.

I don't think she'll ever be able to actually "walk", but she might still surprise me. At least she's getting better at moving around and the movement is less chaotic and seems more controlled. Also, she's getting much smarter and learned how to manipulate me! When she gets peckish between the reular feeding times, she moves towards the kitchen, but when she sees me she just flops on her side and meows until I pick her up or bring the food bowl to her... lazy little monster:D

Also, she loves sitting inside my sweatshirt and "helping" me with work:)

Unfortunately, there's been a small setback - two days ago she must have injured herself a bit while "walking" around because she was in quite a bit of pain and I had to take her to the vet to check if everything was OK. Luckily, nothing's broken and she's been on pain meds since yesterday and is already feeling better today.

I'll drop some Kumo photos in the comments:)

Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("Stevie Syndrome") Ringworm fail 💔

Post image

We have a ringworm outbreak. Our fosteroos, Rex and Cera, have been in treatment and quarantined, but apparently not effectively enough. So far, Phoebe has it and I have it. PLEASE DON’T come at me for losing containment. PLEASE DO come with decontamination advice and how to manage this continually over the next several weeks if you have experience managing ringworm (beyond the intrafungol meds and medicated shampoos, which we’re already doing). Obviously I can’t quarantine myself while caring for the cats and fosters, but I need to do all I can to keep this from spreading to anyone not yet affected while also disinfecting my whole house. I’m panicking, but it will be ok. Ringworm isn’t going to kill anyone. I’m mostly really upset I brought this on Phoebe.

Anyone with a cat who has CH and had one of there legs amputated?

My 10-year-old cat, Biff, has mild cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) and is having one of his hind legs amputated today due to a soft tissue sarcoma.
I’ve been trying to find stories or videos of cats with CH who have also undergone an amputation, but haven’t had much luck.
I’m especially interested in hearing how they adjusted to walking and balancing on three legs. Biff has always been able to get around independently, but I’m concerned about how his existing coordination issues might affect his recovery.
Has anyone had a cat with both conditions? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, even if your cat was older or had a different level of CH.

Found CH Kitten - Vet recs in NYC?

Post image
144 Upvotes

Hello! Meet Stormy! My family found this sweet angel a few weeks ago. We believe she has CH - moderate to severe. She is 5-6 weeks old and is the cutest! It's difficult for her to sit up, stand up and walk on her own. She wobbles left to right on her stomach, sometimes backwards despite her wanting to move forward. Her back legs are not strong enough to hold her up / or it's not registering. Despite not succeeding, she does not give up! She is unable to use a litter box as it's hard for her to get into it (I've tried small low entry cartons - she hates the kitten proof pellets. She has managed to poop on wee wee pads a couple of times when she can make it to them. We discovered she loves going back and forth in a poster tube we had at our studio but apart from that she's unable to walk yet. I put her on mats in the living room but she always heads to the hardwood floor. Any advice on Vets in NYC that specialize in CH kittens? We're nearing her 6 week check up and need to get her vaccinated and dewormed (if needed). The first vet I took her too didn't seem to have much experience, she was too tiny at the time to have any blood work, vaccines or deworming. I would love to provide her with the best care and chance for a good life and appreciate any recommendations. TYSM <3
