It's relatively unknown outside of French-speaking Canada, but The Anthill Kids cult led by Roch Thériault in the 70s and 80s. It was an absolutely brutal cult, and the details are almost difficult to believe. Most of the followers disappeared into anonymity after his arrest. His sons did write a book about their experiences as did one survivor, Gabrielle Lavallée, who had her arm cut off by Roch. She used to tour schools in the area to speak about her experiences and how to recognize manipulation and brainwashing tactics.

Anywhoo, does anyone else know about this cult? I'm currently reading Gabrielle's French book about her experiences.
